Doppio is always hit or miss....both the service and the food. This time it was a miss
Great food and service!
Best Italian food I’ve had in a long time
Great food, HORRIBLE SERVICE. Immediately our server had a horrible attitude. Super unfortunate because I enjoyed the food but will not go back unless for take out.
I’ve eaten at Doppio for 5 years but yesterday the food was off.
The pizza was lukewarm and the cheese unmelted. When I told the waitress the pizza was so she replied that’s how we make pizza here. I asked for her to put it back in the oven but even then it wasn’t as it usually is. I was very disappointed and the waitress was rude to say the least. My friend was up from NY and I took her here because the food is so great, but not yesterday.
Never got a bad meal at this restaurant. Amazing service
Fun. Delicious.
Best pizza and pasta in Greenwich. One of our regular choices in town. Thanks!
Excellent food and service
Where to begin? It was our daughter’s 23rd birthday and I booked a table at 5:00 pm, making sure to mention that it was a birthday dinner.
We arrived and ordered food and drinks. The waiter didn’t write anything down and repeated back part of the order as he walked away. We ordered a clam appetizer, a pizza, a pasta dish and a branzino, plus drinks. The drinks arrived but no food. We were the first table to be seated for dinner and we noticed around us that others had started getting their food. An hour later and we still had no food. We asked and were told it was “being pushed” and another half hour went by. The waiter was not I terest
We visited Doppio during Valentine’s Day weekend! The atmosphere was romantic, the food was delicious and VERY FILLING, and our waiter Carlos was both personable and knowledgeable! We enjoyed every moment!
Wxcellent as always.
Not happy with the new menu!!!
Always great, been there many times, family owned and operated.
Service was a bit hectic due to big crowd for dinner on evening before thanksgiving. Overall, very nice dining experience, with good selection of Italian dishes prepared well. This was our second visit, and the one thing that needs to be improved is to have someone welcome you on arrival. You go in, stand by the door and wait for someone to see you and acknowledge your presence. They could do better in this regard.
Server was unpleasant, rude not attentive at all, Food was good, price reasonable , but with servers like tha, ruins the experience. Will not recommend.
New extended menu is great and the chargrilled salmon and filet steak were really exceptional.
Our first visit. Food was good, service friendly but uneven. Very uncomfortable on a chilly night with doors that open on both sides of the restaurant and cold air blasts in. I’d wait till spring to go back or if they solve the door problem.
Great food and service; just wish the tables weren’t so close together:)
It was lovely. The pizza was amazing. The minestrone soup was great too. And the service and the location was really nice
Cocktails were very expensive. Place was average
Second time. Thought I'd try once more after a horrible first experience. If possible, it was worse. Noise level prevented conversation without screaming. Starters and mains took forever to arrive. Server kept forgetting simple requests--water, bread, napkin. Stay away at all cost!!!
Being able to sit outside is an amazing addition Doppio just added to their already fantastic dining experience.
Food was really good - arugula salad, pastas, specials. Service inconsistent - missing when we needed them and hovering when we didn't.
One of our favorite places to dine in Greenwich. Food and service are consistently good. Pizzas and pastas are exceptional. Salads are fresh and generous portions (salmon particularly tasty). Don't leave without dessert!
Solid restaurant and consistently good. We are always pleasantly surprised by the delicious the food.
My daughter's pasta was great, my pasta with white clam sauce was too dry and there were hardly any clams.
Unfortunately first impressions count. My husband rolled out silverware that was caked with food. No excuse.
Visited for the first time on Sunday the waiter was very attentive and polite. The pizza was very good I got a pepperoni pizza there was a lot of pepperoni which my fiancé loved but I’d prefer less and would have asked for extra cheese if I had known but overall was delightful. My fiancé got the Lasagna which tasted amazing! We also got the fried calamari app which also came with some fried shrimp and both types of calamari bodies and rings. We did not like the full body calamari which was half of what was served so that was a bummer not knowing I wish the description put this information.
Good casual Italian restaurant. Very good Pizza -best in town. Very good pasta and tomato sauce. Good selection of entres. Go for the food not the ambiance.
Our first visit. Extremely slow service on a Saturday night. Took more than an hour after ordering to get our appetizers or some bread. Tables very close together (I was constantly bumped into by waiters and other patrons). Food was good (seafood, salads, pastas). But I felt like it was overpriced for what it was.
Wonderful family owned. Consistently good food, excellent staff.
The best chef in all of CT it is a must hit spot for sure !
Our daughter celebrated her Art in the district art show.
I ordered the carbonara, it was the best I’ve had in many, many years. Light on the cream sauce and pasta was exquisite, Perfect al dente!
Unfortunately we had a table of four that were loud and made the experience less than desirable. Wish the Manager would have asked them to keep their voices/shouts lower.
What a delightful surprise to find this hidden gem off Greenwich Avenue. Robust Tuscan wines. Robust portions of salmon and veal milanese. It's on our return to list.
Servers each had attitude
A little on the expensive side but it is Greenwich.
Great low key food and a comfortable setting, however the person attending to me was always busy on their cell phone instead of keeping their eye on the patrons. No major harm done, but I shouldn't look up and try and get my server's attention while their attention is on their cell phone.
