Indian Brasserie, Authentic Bangladeshi/Indian dishes
Excellent food and really attention and friendly staff
Food was lovely even though found menu very limiting. Noise level was to much. You don't need music when restaurant is full. The thing that let it down for us was we felt hassled by your waiting staff. You should have one waiter to so many tables. We were asked three times how our meal was, constantly asked about drinks. Just wanted to be left alone to enjoy our evening.
Excellent service and really excellent food
Very different from your normal Indian restaurant food but personally found it excellent
Up-market Indian restaurant with a tapas style twist. Food was very good and some nice variations. Great service.
Really great find. Was recommended by a friend and we weren’t disappointed, having booked for a birthday meal.
Service was impeccable, prices honest, menu imaginative, decor refreshingly contemporary with a great ambience.
Food was unlike typical Indian restaurant food - tasted authentic, fresh, real. Even the poppadoms were on a whole different level. No overwhelming portion size, beautiful marinades and flavours.
This restaurant is a real gem and we’ll be swinging by regularly. Do book - it’s wildly popular and no wonder why. Enjoy.
We enjoyed our meal at Desh and the food and the service were both excellent. However, it is not cheap and we thought that £5.00 for a pint of lager shandy (the same price as for the same measure of "full fat") was definitely over the top.
Nevertheless we would go again.
We were warmly greeted on arrival and shown to our seats. The staff made timely checks on us during our meal & ensured that everything was okay. We were given appropriate time between courses. The food was very tasty and flavourful. Explanations of some items on the menu were offered when required.
The experience, particularly the quality of the dishes and service, was very positive and we would recommend trying this restaurant as a couple or a larger group.
A wonderful fine dining experience with dishes and flavours that make you explore and glad you did. A great addition to West Malling.
Enjoyable evening with delicious food and very good service. Will definitely return
Stylish decor, friendly staff and delicious food. Really liked the puffed rice popadoms
Great place for a night out with the family. Good food with fantastic service.
Such a lovely meal. Good quality food and excellent friendly service.
Tasty food but not the full curry experience we wanted.
Decorated well and lovely furnishings, a little bright in some areas.
Service was good. Not a massive choice on the menu, portions slightly smaller and just a bit fancy.
The noise level was awful, unable to hold a conversation or even hear the waitress speak.
We orderd a selection of small plate starters, they were tasty but the prawns are over priced.
We orderd a bottle of chardonnay which wasnt very nice and then tried a different one....wine quality seemed cheap.
I had great expectations, but dissapointed with the restaurant.
It’s the 3rd time I have visited the Desh restaurant in Westmalling and this time my wife came with me. I didn’t think I could get away with going there anymore without taking my wife to tast the delights. The food and service was great as usual and I’m glad I booked as unfortunately they had to turn away people walking in looking for a table as it was fully booked. If you have intentions of eating at the Desh I suggest you book as it’s becoming more popular by the week.
Lovely restaurant , recently refurbished, modern contemporary design, food was full of flavour, little different from the usual Indian menus, service was friendly and good , nice bar area , we will definitely return.
This restaurant has really undergone a transformation both in its interior and menu. This is the second time I have visited and both times the food was outstanding, closely followed by good, attentive, non-intrusive service. We were a family of 7, 3 generations and all loved every dish that was put in front of us. The kitchen really does have something special. My only criticism although is quite significant, was the noise. The first time we visited we were at a screened round table and the noise was not an issue but this time we could not enjoy a conversation as a table as the people at the ends could not be heard. Please resolve this issue with screens, more sound absorbing materials or some other acoustic solution as this is spoiling an otherwise amazing experience and a real culinary addition to West Malling.
Amazing food in a lovely setting
Can’t wait to go back
Great food , great service.
