What a wonderful surprise to find a genuine old style Italian restaurant in the centre of London, great food, great atmosphere and lovely staff- we had pre theatre supper and it was perfect! Nearly forgot to mention the wine - we had a wonderful Primotivo recommended by our waitress- it was delicious!!!!
Dimartino is one of my favorite restaurants in London. I have eaten there several times and return whenever I can. I highly recommend the food - it is always outstanding.
excellent and charismatic
The service was really bad, food was average, and it was very noisy.
A lovely meal - lots of Italian flavour. The steak was perfectly cooked just as I asked for it. The grilled vegetables were delicious - tasty and not at all greasy.
Excellent melanzane parmagiana & hubby enjoyed his liver. The food has always been consistently good. Service is friendly & we were given a discount as the waiter forgot to put the soup into the computer. Will return when we are in the area again.
Wonderful meal at this great Italian. The veal is some of the best I have had in a while. Great price point for London - excellent value for money. The team were busy on a Friday night, but were very accommodating. Bring back the tradition of a grappa on the house at the end of the night, and you'd make it truly authentic. We will be back, I'm sure.
Amazing food and brilliant service. I can imagine this would get busy in the evenings. Noise level rating is because we were one of only three tables in there at the time so I don't feel it's fair to comment on that.
Warm and friendly restaurant with very good service and most enjoyable cuisine. Tables are reasonably spaced.
The noise level is so high as to make conversation difficult at times. Why isn't ssound absorbing material fitted to the ceiling and walls?
Very friendly service, great Italian food and wine.
Loved this little Italian gem. Incredible Italian food and not expensive. Massive portions!
Food was ok but average although very good portions of pasta
Had a fantastic time, good ambience, good service and great food. True Italian and will definately return.
Absolutely brilliant as always...nothing else to say
Excellent food with attentive staff. We were downstairs and were pleased to be there as we could hear each other speak. Excellent experience.
Nice restaurant with a real Italian and friendly atmosphere.
Went with my mother in law who is a regular
She is elderly and they are very kind and accommodating
I had the fish grill and my MIL and partner both had the lamb chops. Both were amazing and highly recommended
Lovely neighbourhood restaurant
It was just so nice.i just can't compliment enough.
We just enjoyed the food the staff were attentive and friendly. Value for money. Just a great place and will be returning.
One of our favourite restaurants in London Food is always excellent. Veal Milanese with spaghetti and fried zucchini is delicious. Good value, buzzy atmosphere, authentic. Thank you.
Super Italian food served by lovely staff. The quality attracts large numbers of happy diners and so it’s noisy and there is a turn round time but that’s the price for excellent food. Calamari and skate wing specials were excellent on this occasion and there is a good range of wine by the carafe if you don’t want a whole bottle. Thoroughly reliable.
As always great food, really good, friendly and efficient service - they can't do enough
Abbiamo cenato piu' volte da Demartino. Bell'ambiente, cucina ottima (veramente italiana), cortesia e professionalita'. Assolutamente raccomandabile. Domenico (da Milano).
A lovely restaurant. One of my favourites.
Large, very friendly space. Not intimate or special but felt typically Italian and that’s never a bad thing! Menu features Italian restaurant staples as well as classics that don’t typically appear such as rabbit with polenta or Osso Buco. Nice glass of Barolo too.
Food was good but not exceptional. Service charming. Great value. It’s a neighbourhood restaurant and it seemed many loyal regulars came in. Overall would happily return knowing the place fits it’s intentions.
Good food nice place ok value
Great classic Italian food in an atmosphere of a family run restaurant
My guests and I enjoyed our lunch, the food was above average, the lambs liver excellent.
Fave Italian in London!
Excellent meal but we were on a table by the window with quite a draft so when you book ask to be away from that area as it gets very busy so difficult to be moved.
Another most enjoyable lunch with friends; food dependably good, service friendly and efficient, atmosphere busy and bustling.
I booked a table using the 'Open Table' App after trawling through lots of reviews of restaurants in the area. I was able to book at the last minute as it was an impromptu business trip with my wife and I also wanted to impress her!
I have to say were were not disappointed, we arrived slightly early and were shown straight to our table, the restaurant was extremely busy and the ambience was very welcoming; of course being full it was noisy but it was the happy chatty type of noise which only added to the experience.
The menu choice was really good and I opted for the Garlic and Chilli prawns as a starter and the calfs liver for my main. My wife chose the Salumi board to start and the Grigliata Di Pesco Misto as her main.
All I can say is the food was amazing, well presented and exactly enough on a plate in each of our courses. My calf's liver was cooked to perfection, extremely tender and a joy to consume. My wife's main was a mixture of fresh seafood and she was equally complementary in fact she was certain it was one of if not the best seafood platter she has ever eaten.
We also had a bottle of Nero D'Avola 'Vitese' with our meal which was an amazing wine which went really well with our menu choices.
We are not normally dessert people but after such a great meal we both opted for one. I had the Demartino home made Cheese Cake, which was delicious and my wife had the Arance Caramelatte which she has not stopped talking about since.
Overall this was a really enjoyable dining experience, I would wholeheartedly and without any hesitation recommend Demartino. Our experience was a happy and memorable evening surrounded by a lively ambience. The staff were really helpful, efficient and polite and although not a frequent visitor to London I will make a point of ensuring that I eat at Demartino again.
In closing, the meal was great value considering it was London and one of the more fashionable areas.
A favourite for many years - never fails to deliver on all counts
Authentic Italian restaurant, friendly staff, excellent service and superb food. Could not fault it and would have no hesitation in booking again.
Amazing Italian restaurant, the staff were brilliant, and really made us feel welcome and comfortable. Food is out of this world, and the whole place has a buzz about it. We'll certainly be back.
Wonderful friendly atmosphere and food amazing. It was so good that we went back the following evening. Next time we are up in London we will definitely go there again
Demartino is my favourite Italian, I cannot recommend it enough !
Our go to Italian restaurant in London .
Welcoming charming staff .
Great food well prepared never rushed .
Superb wine list but the house red and white are well selected, reasonably priced and delicious - no need to spend more .
Been going there for many years to meet a group of friends whenever we can find an excuse and have never had a complaint . It can be a little noisy but that seems to suit the restaurant and its never too noisy that you can't hear yourself speak since the tables are nicely spaced out .
Was there last Friday and can't wait to go back again in a few weeks .
Been going for the last 3 years with friends and will continue. Always good.
It's always noisy at this restaurant but then it's nearly always full.
The staff are friendly the food service is good.
The food quality is always very good, and the menu is not fussy like some so called new style venues.
We will of course be going back in the future
Great food and fun as ever. It was a shame that they had the TV on
