What Insiders Are Saying
Del Posto is one of the best special occasion restaurants in New York City. Think of it like a more upscale Babbo, or Daniel with pasta.
It is fantastic. Food was very good. The atmosphere was high class and the service was very knowledgeable
Del posto is the perfect place to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. The food, service and the ambiance were exactly what we wanted for our celebration.
It is a true joy to visit Del Posto. The food is excellent, the setting is beautiful and our waiter Richard was a star! It is like a spa for the food soul. 😋🤩 /Jennie
It was fantastic. The epitome of elegance.
Fine dining at its finest! Every time at Del Posto is an new experience. This time we were with a friend with a gluten allergy. Not only were they exceptionally accommodating to her needs, but went above and beyond in some cases creating a custom dish for her. Their attentiveness is world class. I can't say more about the staff, the chefs, and food. IF you have never visited, make sure you do at least once in life.
I always love Del Posto but this time, it was truly exceptional. I had a special request since I was hosting a table and this was a first trip to New York for one of the guests.
The service was impeccable. We sat at table 8 an the elegant, older gentleman with silver hair and glasses (I do not believe he was introduced to us) delighted in explaining the dishes down to the last detail. He was attentive with my niece and out of town guest making them feel so special and he and the team—Manager, Sommelier, bus staff etc. did not miss a detail.
I love the warmth of the room, the piano playing, the space in between tables and most importantly, the quiet! We could actually enjoy an elegant five course tasting meal without raising our voices.
I highly recommend the tasting menu and of course, Del Posto. Can’t wait to go back!!!
Thank you for an incredible evening and great memories for my guests!
What a spectacular restaurant!! We had the Spring tasting menu and wine pairing. This was an perfect meal in all respects. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
5 course menu with wine pairing was just wonderful! Well worth the price. Servers knowledgeable and very pleasant!
Definitely a five star experience. Prices are very high so this is recommended for special occasions.
Del Posto is a beautiful restaurant with excellent service and well-prepared food. All the staff address customers' needs; none are intrusive and look to make customers as comfortable as possible.
This is a great restaurant for an occasion or for people who like a very full 5-course meal.
Expensive but worth it !
Excellent wine pairing meal
Great Wait staff
May be the best restaurant I ever went to. Beyond elegant. Obsessed!!!
Eaten many times in last 3 years - yet ruined our 25th Annivesary celebration today
There are three aspects of “fine” dining. Food, which Del Posto does amazing. Atmosphere, also, amazing. Personnel/service - pray nothing goes wrong!
I reached out to Del Posto prior to arriving to let them know it was my our 25th Annivesary for a surprise lunch. Guess what, we got the surprise. We almost left in the middle of the meal. I did what you are supposed to do when things go wrong. Speak to a manager. But what happens when that goes wrong? Both of us ended up speaking to managers about service/personnel issues (never a good thing when the first diner comes back from speaking to a manager - me- and says to the other on our 25th Annivesary surprise lunch - time to leave.
Honestly, we only stayed because it was 2:45 (1:45 lunch reservation) and if we left, we have had nothing on our Anniversary.
Del Posto is one of the worlds greatest restaurants. Food, service, atmosphere...exceptional
Excellent culinary experience!
Both food and wine were exquisite and the service matched!
Amazing Restaurant, everything was excellent!!
Very good wines. I will recommend it to my friends!!!
This is a special occasion place. Lunch with tax and tip and one drink came to $100. Pricy.
Celebrated my wife’s 30th bday. It was amazing! Food and staff were great!
Very impressive. Food and service comparable to three star Michelin restaurants. Very innovative dishes!
The ambiance, the food, the service, the friendliness of the goodies, anyway, everything wonderful.
This was our second visit in two years; the first time was for lunch, which we liked better. It starts with an extensive but over-priced wine menu that lacked any prosecco (hard to believe in an Italian high-end restaurant, I know). The cocktails that we ordered were ok but nothing to write home about (definitely not for that price).
The salads were quite nice, the second set of primeri were not: these were supposed to be creative pasta dishes but the dough was too thick and tasted slightly raw, the flavors underwhelming. We both returned our pasta dishes only half-eaten (not that anybody cared to ask why). The secondi (mushrooms for me, eggplant for my spouse) were flavorful but uni-dimensional and got boring fast.
The deserts were fine albeit a little too small.
With tip, we spent exactly $500 for two, which included just one cocktail each. For that price I want to be swooning - which neither one of us did. We will therefore scratch Del Posto from our list of places to go to in NYC.
For the lunch menu. Extremely high end feel, for a (relatively) reasonable price. Three course tasting plus two pasta tastings ended up being about 8 courses and two hours long. Incredible service, almost to the level of the absurd.
My wife and I took another couple who came in from out of town to Del Posto to celebrate one of their birthdays and we had a great time and a fantastic meal. Del Posto is an perfectly decorated restaurant, it is both elegant, classy and comfortable. The service at the restaurant is outstanding, the staff is very professional but also friendly. The food is to die for....their pasta’s are outstanding and each of their entrees are delicious ! They also have a fantastic wine selection. If you are looking for a classy place to have a fantastic meal, Del Posto is the place to go !
The food was fabulous. The service attentive if a bit colorless. All-in-all a lovely evening.
Used to be my favourite in nyc. Pork tasted like leather. Beef was worse.
We are regulars at Del Postos sister venue, Babbo. We love both - this is more of a splurge though. The bread and homemade butter is almost worth the trip alone; but after that the food is very similar to Babbos only double the price. You're really paying for the service (which is incredible - the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly) as well as the ambiance (I feel like Im being taken back to some 1940s glamorous restaurant). Ill keep Babbo as our regular stop and Del Posto for when we want to go BIG.
The epitome of elegance, Del Posto nails its pastas while simultaneously offering tasty entrees that are plenty flavourful and not too heavy. The service can be overly attentive at times, but the servers are plenty responsive to diner requests so more privacy can certainly be had should it be desired.
Great meal...very memorable.
Amazing food! Great value for lunch! We absolutely loved our meal. The service was so thoughtful.
Very average experience that failed to meet expectations. We did 8 course and some courses timed perfectly some course spread 30 minutes. Very poor table location, and we felt ignored most of the evening. For the price the are better options although many of the courses were outstanding. Pasta dishes were remarkable. I wish the service equaled.
Del Posto is a world class Italian restaurant worthy of special occasions. All of the dishes are creative and delicious. The service is excellent and competes with that of haute French restaurants. The room is beautiful and upstairs where I sat was quiet and romantic. I would recommend it to anyone if they have the budget.
