There was a short wait to be seated and for our food. But every restaurant is short staffed these days so it was not a problem.
Our host Joseph was personable and smiling. Our server Lynn was exceptional. Food and ambiance were great
Great setting. Great food and charming ambiance! Dinner looking out at the water was a treat!
Decent food, nice server, plenty of room, fair pricing.
Great food, great waitress, great night!
Good food, outstanding service and a little pricey.
Friendly and good service with beautiful water view
Meal prices too high. Exterior was nice with the sunset
We took our friends there. They really enjoyed it.
Lynn our waitress A-1
She went over n above to ensure the best dining experience
They barely honored keeping people at a distance. No one wore mask. Their bars were very crowded. We asked for outdoor dining and were told after we got there that that required a two hour wait.
The menu is limited if you were looking for fish. Fine with clams which were good and the lobster roll with adequate but for $32 a bit pricey.
Food was good but not a good value for the money.
Not such great service , even though we understand the waitstaff shortages at this time ,our waitress was just not very good ! Food was fair at best , we both got the Jersey shore seafood dinner and it was chincy and way over priced , I had a seafood combo at Dino’s seaville diner last week that had a lot more seafood and was $12 cheaper and way tastier! The bread pudding desert was the only thing we truly enjoyed !
Great waitress and service. We enjoyed our meal, as well. We will be back!
Food was outstanding! The Crab Louis was the best I ever had. The lobster roll was scrumptious.
Was shocked at the prices. Wish you had cheaper alternatives.
Service was slow , indifferent, and painful, food was good, way over priced, skimpy food allowances. Place very impersonal
The food was absolutely amazing! So glad we celebrated our 20th anniversary here.
Delicious food, excellent service, quite expensive.
The atmosphere is lovely. The food was very average for what they are charging. You are definitely paying for the atmosphere, not great food! Very disappointing!
Classic seashore dining experience.
Food was very good, service was excellent and setting sun view was exactly what my family was looking for.
Will even go back for their beach bar / happy hour scene.
Average food at way above high prices, Drinking water was stronger than the gin & tonic I ordered. Dinner companions enjoyed their meal, so based on their comments, I would recommend to a friend. with a caution not to expect a great meal.
Vacationing with my family in OC and it was decided to go to Deauville for dinner. My family had been there before and it is one of their favorites. We were seated in the dining room where the flies were buzzing all around us as we ate. Missing Philly cheesesteaks as I now live out of the area, I was looking forward to this favorite. I was disappointed as the meat was dry and tasteless. The others in my party all had hamburgers and said they were good. I just expected more from a restaurant that has a line out the door on a Tuesday night post Labor Day.
Overpriced inedible food. Scallops had a bad taste, fish was saturated with oil. Calamari and margaritas were mediocre at best.
It was ok, except for when it came time to pay they would not accept my gift card. I was forced to pay out of pocket when I had not expected to do so. Their response to me was to phone the next day to get the matter straightened out.
Good not bad but nothing special. Long wait-with res.
This is a busy restaurant! We were seated upon entry and our waitress came immediately with water. Chose our beverages arriving in a timely manner.
Was good and service continued to be very good thru the entire time.
Would recommend to sll
First time going to this restaurant after all the years here in Cape May. Well worth the trip. EXCELLENT Crab Soup, Crab Cakes, Calamari etc. Holly was wonderful!
Yes, pricey but we have wasted more money on restaurants that have slipped but still charge and arm and a leg. We will pay the price for good food.
Looking forward to winter dinners by the fire as well and trying the outdoors next summer or even this fall.
PLEASE don't lose your high quality!!!
Not so good.... On the positive side, there was a beautiful sunset over the bay... She Crab Bisc Soup had no crab in it. Lobster Fritters were all corn meal. Calamari was pretty good. We were told that the fish had a light coating and was pan fried. It had a heavy coating and was deep fried. Steak was overcooked. Bread pudding was flavorless. We had to clear out own dishes (we put them on a neighboring table) because servers wouldn't take them away. I have been there before and it was much better. Very disappointed...
Excellent food and service! We ate inside but had the opportunity to see the sunset from the deck and it was so nice!
Took my family that was visiting for dinner, had an 8 pm reservation and was seated at 8:40, waited for a server and finally one appeared, we were served our meal at 9:45.
I understand people are short stsffed but you can help that by not over booking reservations.
No one filled our water or asked if we wanted a second drink. Our drinks came from the bar when we were seated.
Food was good. No front of house manager helping or even checking tables. Ehh…
We actually decided to come here because it was the 20th anniversary of 9/11 & this restaurant has such rich history. Let me start off by stating: the view is amazing!!! However, if you’re sitting inside in the back, you don’t get a view lol. So a 2 hr wait for the sunset is worth it, once it’s dark, don’t wait. The service for us wasn’t up to standard. Our waitress only payed attention to the table next to us, bc they were ordering drinks & we just had food. When she finally came back to ask how how everything was, we were already done. She’s young & we realize restaurants are short staffed now, so she still got a nice tip! The prime rib was outstanding so was the French Onion Soup & the mashed potatoes…I enjoyed the lobster hush puppies, although there wasn’t much lobster lol. The sandwiches: Prime Dip, Flounder & chicken Deauville we’re just ok…so were the fries. As long as you know what to order you won’t be disappointed! It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area…xoxo
the entire point of making a reservation was to get outdoor seating ... Open table reservation did not count ... we were not given any options but forced to sit inside ... that spoiled the experience
Good food amd drink. Get there early. Like 4-430 early
We normally go in for lunch out on the deck, this time we choose to have dinner in the dinning room. Service was awesome, Kayla was our server, drinks spot on and the food was perfect. We left full and satisfied. And the sunset top the evening off perfectly.
Crab stuffed shrimp only so so. Menu selection didn’t, suit every one in our party. Gin and tonic was terrible
Kayla our server was excellent and food was delicious
This was our first time visiting the Deauville Inn. We had a 7:15 reservation for 2 (done online). When we arrived on time we were told by the receptionist that it would be "just 5 minutes to get your table cleared". We were told they would text us. 20 minutes later and after seeing many people being seated and no text, I went back and the receptionist mumbled something I couldn't understand and then walked away. She got 20 ft away and turned to gesture for us to follow. No respect. The noise level throughout the entire facility is beyond belief. You literally can't hold a conversation with out shouting. We couldn't wait to get out.
Beautiful views. Service great. Food just ok for the price
The noise volume in the Restuarant was extremely loud. You couldn’t even have a conversation with the people at your own table.
The food was just ok. Not worth the prices that they are charging. The chef must have had a heavy hand with the salt that evening. A very disappointing dining experience.
