We are located in a heritage townhouse just off Taylor Square at the axis of Paddington, Darlinghurst and Surry Hills with comfortable counter-top dining, a garden terrace and an intimate dining room, also available for private hire.
We are thrilled to have one of Australia’s most experienced chefs, Jamie Irving (previously Berta, Est, Pearl) heading up our kitchen. Together our goal is to champion the exceptional ingredients of this great continent through a changeable menu of sharing plates.
Our kitchen stays open throughout the day and late into every evening.
Very good set food menu, very good value.
Drinks are on the pricey side.
Every dish we had was amazing. Really appreciate the use of metal straws, support of Oz Harvest etc too.
Food: excellent! Drinks: excellent! Slightly on the loud side, and service was a bit slow. Very friendly staff though! Would definitely go again.
A great place for brunch. Endless mimosas and friendly staff.
Food was tasty and fresh
Great restaurant with very good food and service. The roasted chicken was to die for!
Great atmosphere food was delicious and the service was particularly good
Bar staff and waiters were extremely friendly and helpful, cocktails were fantastic and food was great. A very relaxed yet subtle vibe, great for a date or a catch up. Would highly recommend!
The food and service were fantastic and the price was very fair. I would highly recommend to my friends & family!
Amazing. The folks working there could not have been any friendlier, and on their game. A true joy. And the food was wonderful too!
always a brilliant meal, outstanding service - wonderful!
Good food, great attentive staff. Will definitely go back
Innovative menu, delicious well executed food and eclectic wine list. Fantastic dining experience in Surry Hills!
The service with the bottomless mimosas started out great however after 1 hour it slowed right down to the point where I had to ask to get more drinks multiple times. Would have been nice if they had the same level of service as when we first arrived.
Favourite place in Sydney to dine and drink cocktails
Thanks to the lovely waiter who served us (I think her name was Michelle?) super approachable and fun. The ceviche was excellent and we loved the wine. Will definitely be back next time I’m in Sydney!
What a lovely night, service was impeccable and friendly, top cocktails (ohhh the obligatory) and food was delicious. We were very well advised in terms of quantity and even the dessert was above our expectations.
We did not want to leave!
Service was relaxed and friendly. Food super tasty and perfect for sharing. Great sesting options - quiet dining out back, or bar style dining up front ... all needs covered.
Great food, excellent and friendly service. We chose a banquette at the back on a quiet Tuesday night, such a pleasure to hang around, enjoy an unhurried meal with shared plates, and have no trouble hearing each other talk!
Great atmosphere, food and service. Also great that majority of the menu was gluten-free for those pesky mates!
Love this place! Service was excellent, very friendly. Wide range of delicious Vegetarian options and every cocktail we tried was fabulous. Would recommend coming here, will be back!
A very limited brunch menu, however quite a funky small neighborhood cafe. The staff gave amazing service. Very attentive and such a great attitude. Go team!
The two ladies (bartender and waitress) were great! Very chatty and welcoming!
The cauliflower with Pumpkin hummus was unbelievable!
Excellent brunch option! Different but amazing! Set menu was fantastic and the brunch cocktails and bottomless mimosas where awesome.
Amazing, accommodating service. We really enjoyed the set brunch menu as well as the bottomless mimosas! Great place for a catch up!
Went for the bottomless mimosa brunch with 5 other girls-the food was nice although brought out quite slowly. The biggest issue was the 'bottomless mimosas'- there was hardly any champagne in these at all and they were brought out glass by glass each time which meant that it took a while to get any at times and we just felt like we were consuming tons of sugary juice rather than actual alcohol. It also meant that there were tons of glasses on the table most of the time. We ended up leaving because we were tired of drinking watered down mimosas. We saw one of the servers spill glasses twice (including on us), but you can't fault a restaurant for that. Overall I thought the brunch was ok but I wouldn't return again.
Drinks for bottomless high tea were great. There was no feeling of any sort of delay (which can happen in these situations) and our waitress was amazingly friendly, super attentive and even remembered me booking in our group. She's a definite asset to the building (sorry I don't remember her name)
Only concern is there needed to be more food. Based on a 2 hour package it just didn't seem like it was enough for the duration and we left a little hungry. In future i'll most likely just order the food off the menu. Even if it was the same food just more of it spread out further over time it'd be fine. Food quality was v good though.
Beautiful place with great food and nice people. Everything was just perfect. Glad I picked this place for brunch on Saturday as part of my holiday trip.
Would highly recommend to friends who are visiting Sydney.
Delicious food, friendly service and a great neighbourhood ambiance.
Staff were super friendly and accommodating, food was absolutely delicious. We did the set brunch menu for $39 and thought it was great value. Will definitely be back!
Great restaurant with friendly and helpfuk service and lots of gluten free options. Highly recommended!
Popped in on Friday at 6pm for date night and my partner we sat at the bar for a good two hours slowly working our way through the food and wine menu. This place has an exquisite wine list and yummy menu full of really good quality ingredients - the Gnocci was insane! My BF and I are talkers and Adam behind the bar was great, welcoming, knowledgeable and accommodating! We’ll definitely be back!
Consistently excellent bar/restaurant. Food is always delicious and well priced. Service always friendly and efficient. Great setting on Bourke St. There is really nothing to fault about Dead Ringer, it’s a great addition to Surry Hills. It’s a place I am happy to return to time and time again.
Had a really nice experience at Dead Ringer. The staff was friendly and attentive. Appreciated the mocktail options offered by the bartender - didn't feel like I was missing out on a cocktail while I'm unable to drink alcohol. The food was great and the dessert to die for. Really cozy cool atmosphere. Will be coming back :)
Amazing restaurant, with awesome food. Absolutely recommend. The dining room at the back can be quite loud if their are lots of people talking loudly.
really great experience and I AM SO SORRY that in the whirl of leaving I am not sure we even left a tip!!!! My second time there and I made my guests come to you and it was bril from start to finish and we loved cleaning up the 'leftovers'!!!
Although it was vegetarian and I had no idea it was great for brunch. Bottomless mimosas for $30pp is a bonus
We booked for gal friends birthday. We had the bottomless mimosas and brunch set menu which was great value for money and able to tweak for a vegetarian friend. The staff were amazing and super friendly, happy to hide cupcakes for us and brought them out with candles singing and all. Really lovely place, we shall be back!
Staff are lovely and food is great and has never let us down. Hands down best GF menu in Sydney.
Great staff and service, delicious food. Great tasting menu for a group to share and enjoy original and excellent dishes!
LOVED DEAD RINGER!! Order the Set Brunch Menu and you won’t regret a single thing! A new twist on brunch to get away from the avocado toast and poached eggs. Pro tip: bottomless mimosas are a must, and ask for an extra order of the focaccia
