db Bistro moderne
Located one block east of Times Square in New York City, db bistro is the perfect spot for pre- and post-theater dining, a Midtown business lunch or breakfast “à L’Express”. Happy hour specials offered daily from 3-6pm.
It was here that Daniel Boulud launched the gourmet hamburger craze in 2001 that took the world by storm. The DB Burger, stuffed with red wine-braised short ribs and foie gras, continues to be a main attraction.
Our handsome bar area features a seasonal menu of dishes that can be enjoyed with exceptional wines and cocktails.
The food was delicious but we felt “rushed”. Our meal came out before our cocktails. I believe they were trying to get 3 turns possibly that night. We went to this place because it was close. I would certainly give them another try.
small foyer. food ok. service ok. dessert menu and dessert weak. i wanted more frois grad in the signature burger. appetizer was good.
Amazing food. Make sure to get reservations though
The tartiflette is amazing
Food always good. Service always slow. Understaffed. Don’t go if you are in a hurry
Ask to sit in back
AS ALWAYS, THE FOOD IS TERRIFIC AND THE SERVICE EXEMPLARY. A+all-around.
Perfect for going to a show and staying at Algonquin.
VERY inattentive service. Went to celebrate a birthday, totally ignored.
The first time we visited DB was just after Christmas, we couldn't get a table, so we ate a burger at the bar, great experience, great bartender-
We repeated January 10, reserved a table, and were underwhelmed at the experience.
High expectations, yes, food was good, not great, service excellent, but very quick, we were out in less than an hour, not being able to savor the evening, and the reputation of an outstanding restaurant.
We waited much longer for the check, than for the escargot, which we enjoyed greatly, garlicky, but not overwhelming, just perfect.
The room was very noisy, not the pleasant hum of conversation, just annoyingly noisy.
I can't envision returning, I'm pleased we attended, but not enough for a return visit.
Consistently delicious! Can't beat the fries! The fish is always elegantly prepared.
Went for a birthday. There has been several changes to the menu, and the food is good. However, the service was lacking. Our server would simply go missing for 5-10 mins. If we wanted someone we had to flag down other servers.
Went to dinner pre-theater with our family of 5 - all the meals were outstanding - reasonably priced for a nice restaurant in the theater district - escargot was amazing and don’t skip desert!!!
Food was excellent. Have the DB burger and risotto. Service was great ask for Charles.
From the moment we walked in the door and we were greeted by Allison. We were going to see a play and she was kind enough to seat us early. As we settled in, Allison came back to see how we were doing and helped us with answers we had about the menu. The food and service were fantastic. I have never been to this location and my wife and I had the wonderful feeling of being treated like family . We can’t wait for our next visit.
Great place. Love it. Unpretentious and fine food
We were here for our anniversary and were greeted by the front staff very nicely; in particular, Janessa stood out and throughout our meal stopped by to see how everything was going even offering to change our lovely table because of very noisy neighbors who should have eaten at a pub. She is a true asset to your restaurant and should be recognized as such. The food and drink were excellent and the extra sweet offerings at the end in honor of our day were delightful. Had it not been for the table of men behind us with one in particular, it would have been a special evening in every way.
We had great service, the food was wonderful and the wine delicious. I missed the bouillabaisse not being on the menu but the duck was great! I'll definitely go back.
Don’t miss this place. Price fixed for $60, can’t beat it! Can’t wait to return.
Always great. The service is the best. I had the black truffle salad, the scallops, the chocolate gateau, a terrific Manhattan, some Ridge zin. A beautiful space, feels like you're in Manhattan. Can't be more fun.
Dinner before Broadway show — fantastic service, exciting & delicious food! The waitstaff were top notch pros — asked about our showtime and kept us on track without making us feel rushed. The food was absolutely terrific and included a few little surprises. The price fixe dinners were perfect and reasonably priced for the quality. The atmosphere was quite loud but in a happy way. Daughter said the escargot was the best she’s had in NYC!
Hit or miss, unfortunately for my wife's birthday it was more of a miss.
Went to see a broadway play with family and decided to have dinner at this restaurant based on OpenTable reviews. Glad we did. Food and service were excellent. It is a bit pricy, but hey, it’s NY. It’s within walking distance of the theater district, so an excellent choice if you’re looking for dinner and a show.
An excellent choice for before the theater. Delicious food, beautifully executed and carefully served. And the prix fixe is a good value.
It was great to have classic favorites done so well: the escargots were so tender, and a perfect vehicle for butter and GARLIC. Tartiflette was appropriately gooey. Duck breast was done just as requested. All elements on the plates worked together. Wines by the glass worked well, and we appreciated that we could get different size pours.
This is a great place to bring out of town visitors to experience a typical New York dining experience in a mid-town location. The service and food do not disappoint.
Service for two women was poor. Waiter kept ignoring us. We tip as well as any msn
Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback about your recent experience and wish to apologize personally. Please reach out with your contact details so I can here some more details about the service you received and hopefully make amends. Warm regards, Allysun Redmond, General Manager.
New year’s eve
My husband and I made a reservation for NYE. Food was good, black truffle spaghetti was delicious. Wine pairing option was a great idea. The appetizers are the only reason I did not give it 5 stars. Overall a good experience
Tout les plat était excellent et le service impeccable, seul point négatif la musique ne fit pas avec le restaurant.
Serviceable restaurant for pre-theater dining. Food was generally excellent, though not exceptional. Cocktails just average (and too sweet). Wine selections are excellent (and pricey). The scallops "Billi Bi" is a delightful dish, the very good bread provided at table perfect for wiping up the bright green (and rich) watercress emulsion. My wife enjoyed her poulet roti just fine, but the burger seems to be the dish to order. Service efficient although somewhat cold. The back room is cramped and in need of a refresh. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and appreciated the value of a $60, three course offering.
Loved every aspect of this bistro. Food and service phenomenal
A wonderful restaurant! The food was ex exceptional and the staff fabulous!
Food excelent. Service basic.
Fabulous food and wonderful wait staff. We were in town for the weekend and were so glad to have chosen this restaurant. The Brussels sprouts salad was amazing. The halibut was the best I’ve ever had. We will definitely go back next time we’re in the city.
I was blown away by the roasted Brussels Sprout salad. The grilled Scallops in the mussel sauce was exceptional! My friend had the salmon, the taste she gave me was exceptional. I would definitely come back here again when I’m back in NYC!
Fantastic service and special dessert to mark the occasion!
Mistakenly ordered bottle of white wine when we wanted red. No questions asked and we swapped bottles easily. Food always good here.
Just go an try the DB burger; you are not going to be dissapointed !!!
