db Bistro moderne
Located one block east of Times Square in New York City, db bistro is the perfect spot for pre- and post-theater dining, a Midtown business lunch or breakfast “à L’Express”. Happy hour specials offered daily from 3-6pm.
It was here that Daniel Boulud launched the gourmet hamburger craze in 2001 that took the world by storm. The DB Burger, stuffed with red wine-braised short ribs and foie gras, continues to be a main attraction.
Our handsome bar area features a seasonal menu of dishes that can be enjoyed with exceptional wines and cocktails.
Second time here still very good
Great restaurant, excellent service and the food it’s amazing
We had a wonderful experience! Chef Jackie and Chef Mike went above and beyond! All of our servers were spectacular! I cannot remember all of their names. Giovanni and Alahondro thank you! Most of all I appreciate all of you for looking after my son Zachariah!
Awesome food and service! They brought us extra dessert for our anniversary! Would definitely go back
Wine is pricey but food and service was good. I would go there again
Dinner was for a special occasion and the restaurant didn't disappoint - they treated us very special and sent out a beautiful Happy Anniversary celebration plate! Thank you.
Overall everything was great. Really liked the little desert at the end of the meal and biscotti with the cappuccino.
Beautiful restaurant, perfectly prepared dishes and attentive service. The fixed price lunch is a great option. Cucumber gazpacho was refreshing and delicious. Halibut was pan seared with a golden brown exterior and moist, flaky interior. Molten chocolate cake was delicious and nicely proportioned to finish a three course lunch. A very nice restaurant conveniently located for theatre or midtown business.
Beautiful room. Delicious food. Great drinks. Excellent service. Our server Gus was fantastic.
Pleasant atmosphere, excellent service, good menu, very good food.
My wife’s food was cold. Thought the burger was not worth the money
sadly my burger was served rare when I asked for MEDIUM
wine was very good but expensive and the dessert was not freshly made despite the chocolate sauce being poured on it table side
disappointing quality food - especially at these prices!
This was a fantastic restaurant, with delectable food presented beautifully! It is in the perfect location, right near all the theaters! The profiteroles were amazing!! The service was impeccable!
A lovely, sedate spot. Hibiscus iced tea a winner (comes with it's own small pitcher of simple syrup - nice)
Lots of attention to detail and beautiful presentation. Portions small (good), prices high for that.
The prix fixe menu is an exceptional value. The food is always outstanding at db Bistro and the service really stood out in the best possible way during my last lunch. I love this place and highly recommend it.
was not happy with the duck dish, disappointing, as I can hardly chew on it properly
This restaurant was lovely. Food was excellent. Alcohol was very very expensive. Service was excellent.
Extremely attentive service and excellent quality of food.
Food & service were excellent! Not your very old hole in the wall French restaurant!
db remains a gem. The food was exquisite. We each had the prix fixe dinner: Sublime corn chowder for one; a delightful salad for the other. We both had the divine sole meuniere (well worth the supplement). So simple and elegant. Profiteroles for one dessert and cheese for the other. We could not have asked for a better meal.
Every member of the staff was truly friendly. It seemed that everyone was happy to be a work. They really made the evening special.
The dining room at db, in the back, is cozy and refined. It is a great spot for a special evening out.
Reminds me of a typical Bistro in Paris; Dover Sole was delicious and service was impeccable. We will continue to dine here regularly.
We're from Chicago and come to NYC every year for the US Open.
My wife looks forward to and HAS to have dbBurger each time....memorable!!
See you again....next year
We ordered cocktails and wine to specifically be served with our dinner. “Please give us some time to enjoy our cocktails before bringing our wine and food. “ We just had our second sip of our cocktails and all the food shows up. The wine did not come. Now, this is a fast food joint, not a place to come enjoy a meal.
I’ve been there a few times before and always liked the restaurant. The other night was very special, I had mentioned that it was my friend’s birthday, they came out at the end of the meal with a basket of freshly baked madeleines and a candle for her. She was so touched and appreciated. It was a good ending to a fun evening. We will definitely go back again.
As someone with a gluten- free vegan diet, I always search for restaurants that are mainstream
But can offer me a gourmet take. DB Moderne excelled and effortlessly prepared a great dinner
And dessert without missing a beat!!! My new go to place when going to the theater 🎭
Fixed price lunch was delicious and a great deal! Very nice, diverse options. The service is impeccable; welcoming but not overbearing. Wait staff extremely knowledgable about food and made great recs. None of the "everything on the menu is great."
Delicious lunch. One diner ordered the halibut. Cooked perfectly with clean, bright notes in the sauce.
The salmon was another winner. Again, cooked just right with a unique wild rice side.
Desert was shared - nectarine tart with frangiapanni crust and lemongrass ice cream.
We would definitely go back! Plus it is perfectly situated for theater goers. An easy, very few blocks to Theatre District in NYC.
Il famoso hamburger col fois gras un po’ deludente.
Wonderful dining experience. We got in after the theater rush and the place was quiet, but the food and service were still first class! Will definitely be back!
Attentive service and staff was mindful that we had theater tickets. Food was innovative and well prepared. An enjoyable dinner!
The food and service were exceptional. When they found out it was our anniversary, the staff presented us with a complimentary plate of madeleines for dessert. We will definitely be back!
If you go to db bistro, you need to order the burger. It is spectacular and a great combination of delicious foods! I was very pleased. You should go at lunch because you will be too stuffed for dinner. Overall, it was magnificent.
You'd think Daniel Boulud himself was hovering in the kitchen based on the sparkling cooking and smart service we encountered at db Bistro Moderne. We had succulent-sweet scallops in a blanquette of bright green watercress sauce. Flawless. There's always someone in a dining party who only orders salmon. He said he'll never get it anywhere else after having it here. Dessert portion sizes are skimpy (not enough for table sharing) but deliver stunning flavor. I got an ultra-light concoction of frozen yogurt and Granny Smith apples. Sounds boring? Au contraire. I doubt there's a truly bad dish on the menu, but if there is, the sharp wait staff can be trusted to wave you off of it. Also - small but high-quality selection of wines by the glass, and you can supersize your portion!
Delicious. Outstanding meal and great customer service
The food was good but for the value the portions are smaller than expected. Also they served my mom the wrong hot tea and we could not get a hold of our waiter to get it fixed.
We had the cucumber gazpacho soup for starters. Our mains were steak frites and roasted duck. Everything was outstanding. Hostess and servers were professional and friendly. Wine selection by the glass is outstanding. Daniel Boulud's restaurants never disappoint.
You would think, an omelet is an omelet...yet, do Bistro offers a superb omelet, as is everything else we tried. Definitely coming back.
Best Burger ever
The food was outstanding and the service was also excellent. In many cases, a single diner may get less attention than larger parties, but db Bistro moderne gave me their full attention. I was very impressed.
