D'Antan - Vino naturale e cucina Italiana
We serve MORE THAN 100 Italian natural wines BY THE GLASS. A consistent selection of “skin contact” wines (also called orange wines) makes our wine list even more special.
Really wonderful, all around. Great food, staff and ambience! The lamb was exquisite! Will definitely be back
Everything was wonderful but there a very small menu with a small selection of options
Wonderful food, live music, lovely staff! Would definitely go to again!!!
We dined here for Valentine’s Day. It was our first time eating at this restaurant. The pictures online make it look super quaint and cozy and cute — perfect for an intimate dinner. When we arrived, the place was packed. There was live jazz music which was a nice surprise. The servers were running around and seemed as if it was their first night on the job. I was haphazardly greeted and I told them I had a reservation. I was expecting to be seated in the main dining area. Instead we were seated in an enclosed outdoor seating area that was awkwardly quiet. The area had gravel in it so it was difficult to adjust my chair and it was cold (they provided very large chunky blankets for these outdoor tables that were too big and annoying). It took a very long time for us to get drinks and service in general. Our food arrived quickly however. The food was good but didn’t blow us away. When the jazz musicians took a break, tasteless greatest hits music was BLASTED over the speakers, to the point where I couldn’t hear my husband talking. We made light of it, but in reality it completely ruined the mood and vibe. We asked for the music to be turned down three times, eventually it was slightly turned down and then wound up being turned back up again at some point. Overall just an extremely weird dining experience. We couldn’t wait to pay the check and leave. Needless to say, I will not be dining at this restaurant again.
We were in for an early dinner at 530pm before heading to a show at the Barclays Center. The pastas are amazing here and we were not disappointed at all. Highly recommend this cozy little bistro.
Very pricey for the neighborhood without the food to back it up. Great ambiance- the live jazz trio was very pleasant and the heat lamps in closed patio section were adequate. The barn smell in foyer may have been an aesthetic choice, I'm not sure. Food quality doesn't match the price point. 16$ cocktails in crown heights is *comedy*. Esp in an area that already has good cocktail bars. Good for a glass of wine with a date on your way home, perhaps, but wouldn't eat there again.
The staff was very friendly and knowledgable about natural wines. They recommend very good and not ready to find Italian orange wine! Definitely a professional and fun natural wine restaurant, the pasta was amazing !!
Lovely atmosphere: authentic, welcoming, and adorable. Would dine there again with a date.
In an area replete with many great dining options, D'Antan really stands out. Gracious, attentive service. Unique wine selection. Rustic but sophisticated ambiance. Outstanding food. It is really a winning combination. This was a truly excellent dining experience.
My wife like a lot of folks on OpenTable are foodies, she a bit more than me so we are tad more critical than some. That being said, we had two separate dishes and while mine was agreeably well done, we felt hers was a bit off but still tasty. The desserts were well thought out and matched the quality and went well with the entrees themselves. The restaurant is of course small, but intimate and works well for couples and small groups. I would definitely be down for it again in the future and recommend it!
The atmosphere is very romantic, with fresh-cut roses on every table, warm lighting, and bistro-style seating. Most notable was the excellent service, our server had excellent attention to detail.
Everything was great — service was a little slow but that was totally okay, our waitress was super sweet.
Very nice and quaint staff very nice and accommodating
Some of the best gnocchi I’ve ever had. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Great romantic spot for a date night.
The space is funky and the staff was super nice and efficient, but my food was bland. Had high hopes, but was disappointed.
Loved this place! Amazing authentic Italian menu and servers! Totally charming, I highly recommend!!!
authentic dishes from Piedmont and a quality list of wines and vermouth
Dining here is like being in Italy! The food is delicious.
The hosts are very pleasant. Tables are small and round, which makes the space at times seem cramped yet intimate. Excellent wine selections and they are engaged to help you decide.
D'Antan is a wonderful Italian restaurant. The food and staff are incredible, and I couldn't recommend it more. Go, you won't regret it.
Amazing food/wine and a great addition to the neighborhood. Being gluten free, this will definitely be on top of the list for me! They have gluten free bread and can make any of their pasta dishes GF. I had the truffle mushroom gnocchi, so delicious. I will be going back!
Great food and drinks for a birthday celebration!
So glad we found this place. A visually beautiful space with excellent food to match.
The service was wonderful, the wine list extensive and the pasta, in particular the pappardelle ragu was divine. If you are lucky enough to dine on a Thursday evening you get to enjoy a 3 piece jazz band. This place is a little gem.
This place is super cute but we made a reservation for five for my sister in law’s birthday dinner, and they can’t really accommodate tables of that size. It’s PERFECT for a date, but super tiny and not great for large groups. Food was good, would come back with just my husband.
Well prepared and very delicious food. The place is a bit cramped
no food is good enough to overcome the terrible service.
I order the burratta and the octopus for appetizer and both were amazing. The octopus was cooked perfectly. For my entree I order the steak and it was so tender and juicy. I will be back.
What a charming little gem in the neighborhood! Food and service were excellent- we shared cheeses, mushrooms and 3 different pasta dishes. All were delicious. Only request- Italian music!
This is the best restaurant in Crown Heights. The food, the atmosphere and the drinks were great.
impeccable service great knowledge of wine and great hospitality!
I was served by Mattia
The service is great and professional, but also very warm and chill. The food was good. I had the polenta and cheese. I liked the fact this is simple but good products, the dish was a bit too salty though, but still eatable.
The dessert was crazy good, some chocolate amaretto ice creaming with caramelized pear.
The wine is also great, however $14 feels quite expensive for a small glass.
Definitely a great place for a date, chill evening when you are looking to eat outside on a nice terrace
My wife and I had our 8th anniversary dinner at D’antan, a tiny New Italian place on Classon and Bergen, but this time with a six month old nugget on the side. For anyone who lives in the area or comes to visit, it is phenomenal! Friendly, welcoming service, even with an infant in tow, and the wine and food were out of this world. We had black truffle Burrata and prosciutto, grilled octopus, carbonara, and beef ragu. Our daughter is now a huge fan of meat sauce and roasted potatoes with olive oil, basalmic and sea salt. She happily ate off of our plates and sat contently the whole time and the staff was happy to accommodate an extra half a guest.
Great neighborhood gem. Intimate dining with casual elegant ambiance, great service, excellent charcuterie and pastas.
Great service and food. Thanks again Beatrice!
Great atmosphere. Delicious food and drink. Attentive service. Definitely will be back.
This is a great new place in Crown Heights and has instantly become my favorite.
I liked D’Antan and would be willing to go back but the food wasn’t amazing. My gnocchi were heavy (they should be little clouds!) and some components of other dishes were burned. The highlight was the dessert which had good chocolate gelato on top. Also service was a bit hit or miss. The wine list was strong.
Wonderful wine, service, and the food was tasty. Our waitress was amazing and knowledgeable, helped us pick wines to pair with our servings, will be back.
