Decent food but heard different servers telling different customers about the 20 %
service charge automatically charged to bills. Some said the restaurant didn’t share a portion with the server. Some said a portion went to them And the balance went to restaurant so not sure how I feel about the inconsistency.
It was a wonderful experience for a special occasion! The value though... $13 for a glass of Rosé, $83 for steak and mashed potatoes, $6 for SAUCE! It was all delicious but dang, it's expensive. We will likely be back for our next big celebrations (milestone birthday or anniversaries).

Slow service and felt nickel and dimed. Party of 4 we were charged a 20% service fee including on the $8 valet charge which we were asked if we wanted our parking “validated”. My husband has been unhappy with the value/service at Daniels our previous couple visits. This was his last straw.

Everything about the evening at Daniels Broiler was lovely. The view across Lake Union reflecting so many lights added a hint of magic. Our steaks were perfect, the wait staff attentive and pleasant. A truly FINE experience.

Had my taste buds set on lobster for this trip to Daniels...did NOT disappoint! It was fresh and prepared well. Had the bread pudding for dessert...what a treat that was! Plan on sharing; actually enough for 4 after a big meal. The only disappointment was the sparkling water; they have replaced Pellagrino with a Mexican brand...not nearly as good and they took it off of our bill. Hope they change back. Service was excellent. Looking forward to another visit soon.

My business guest had NY Strip and enjoyed it very much. I had a ribeye MR and it was tough - I have never had a tough ribeye before! Especially at Daniel's prices. We were seated between 2 large parties and could barely hear one another. All things considered - I will pick a different Seattle restaurant next time I am in town entertaining customers.

Other than my steak came to the table under cooked (which they immediately took back and got right) it was a very pleasant experience.

We had a drink in the bar while we waited for our table and the glass was dirty on the outside . the steak was a bit over cooked .( I never send anything back.)It took 68 minutes from the time we ordered to finally get our Entrée.I only know this because I called the sitter right after and I checked to see how long we waited. We payed the bill and was waiting for my change and the waiter kept it thinking I guess it was his .I have no problem tipping the 20% but I would of expected the waiter to leave it up to me if I was giving more .Wasn't a good night here . I prefer the Leschi location better.

crying babies. Upset stomach on the salmon. Constant pressure to add to the menu. Did I say constant pressure to add to the menu. Awful asparagus. Pressure to add drinks. Unwanted pressure to have a dessert. Pressure to add to the 20% tip which was more than I would have given. Will never go back!

The service was very good. However for the price range of the food it was really not much better than an average steak house. Their prices are extremely high in relationship to the quality of the food. Better to go to Metropolitan Grill.
The salads were ok, the steak good, the onion soup marginal, and the desserts below average. Much better desserts and salads at Chinooks.
Great view, nice ambiance but you can see why the restaurant is not full and is easy to get reservations. They need to either bring down their prices or significantly bring up the quality of the food
And when yelp states Daniels price range is $31-$50 that is highly misleading. The salads are $14, the steaks are $80, and the sides are $10 so an average dinner would run over $100 without dessert or drinks. Add in the $8 valet which is the only way you can park there and it is a significant amount of money which should represent an over the top fabulous meal.

On par with other Seattle Steak restaurants like El Guacho but service is sub par as had to wait 15 minutes after salad for steak. And then the server requested that I leave an extra tip before the 20%!!!! Excuse me?

Do not appreciate being asked to cut steak and check if cooked correctly immediately after it is brought to table. My husband and I have dined at many fine steak houses. First time being asked to cut steak and check it. Tacky.

This is such a unique spot. It has one of the best views in the city in a warm atmosphere with excellent food and service. My family has gone for celebrations for the past 20 years!

The food was well prepared and delicious and the service was good but the menu was overpriced.

I am not sure I would recommend Daniels to a friend. This is the first time we were very disappointed in our service and leaving a 20% gratuity was not fair. We tip accordingly and have no problem leaving a good tip if deserving. After we sat water was poured but no menus were given. We waited for our server, he finally comes and I have a question on a liquor in a drink, he takes sometime to find out the answer and takes our drink order, but never ask if we want appetizers.
We wait quite awhile for our drinks, he comes back saying the bartender couldn't see the ticket for the order he pointed it out to the bartender so we will have to wait again. Now he sees we still don't have menus, so he goes to get them. After awhile the table next to us is seated and they get bread immediately, we still haven't gotten bread. The server serves our drinks finally and tells me if I don't like the drink I didn't have to keep it. He never comes back to check if I liked it. It was OK and I just drank it since he never showed. At this point he realizes we have no bread, it is coming he says. We continue to wait for the bread and yes it does show finally, but not for awhile. I ask for a glass of wine with my meal and I am told the same-thing about the wine. He does come back to check this time but I have dranke most of the wine by this time. Fortunately I really liked the wine.
We just seemed to wait forever for everything. we were there for almost 2.5 hours, there were 2 of us. I had to put my gift cards at the edge of the table, so that would signify us wanting the bill.
It seemed you were very short staffed.
We had a 6pM reservation and weren't seated for 15 minutes. There were families that walked in after us and got seated before us. I asked about this, but was told they had an earlier reservation but came late.
Not pleased with the service at all.

Our visit was less than disappointing. We very much looked forward to visiting Daniel’s for Christmas Eve. The dining experience lasted a little over a 3 hours which most of that time was waiting. Daniel’s was nice enough to fill our water glasses and provide us with bread during our wait time.

I hate the 20% service charge and to add insult to injury the put sales tax on top of the service charge. Pay your staff more and add it to the price.

Annual holiday dinner out with our in-laws, typically dine at Bellevue Daniels but didn’t schedule soon enough so was forced to go to S. Lake Union.
Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had at Daniels, slow service, forgetful service, bad food - part under cooked then charged beyond belief, food incorrectly prepared then took forever to get replaced.
If I can help it, I will never go back to South Lake Union location.
The bill was adjusted but I would rather have paid $1,000 for a good meal than the crappy experience we had.
I spend about $15,000 a year at Daniels and this was a huge let down!!!

Automatic 20% tip was added to bill and it was taxed. Food was good but not great and it was expensive. Service was excellent and plenty of free close parking.

We had a gift card that covered about half the bill, but I didn’t feel the meal we got was worth the half I paid. The prime rib was excessively gristly, and one side dish was not hot when it arrived- hence it was cold by the time I tried it.

One of my favorite restaurants in Seattle, in terms of food, ambiance, and service. Sorry to know the beautiful interior will soon be closed for Vulcan pier redevelopment. Fortunately, I understand Daniel’s will be relocating nearby, although the current place is etched with charm and nostalgia. Still, a great time!
