What Insiders Are Saying
Our favorite place for fine dining in Manhattan. Daniel is an absolute classic. Save it for a special occasion and eat in the salon, where things are a bit more laid back.
The service was tremendous. The food was exquisite. The ambiance was classy old time NY modernized. Chef Daniel came by the table to discuss the meal. The wine pairings were perfect. Exceptional experience.
Amazing experience overall. The tasting menu and wine pairing was incredible and the restaurant was beautiful.
Our second time at Daniel, it did not disappoint. The service, the quality of food, the quality of drink, the atmosphere, there is nothing lacking in this restaurant. We come to NYC once a year and it is a annual stop. This will not change for any time to come. Thank you Daniel and everyone involved. You all make our evening spectacular.
Service was impeccable, but the dishes were underwhelming.
Beautiful birthday dinner for my niece- everything was perfect!
Had so much fun with my family would recommend to anyone who loves great food!
Absolutely incredible. One of our all time great meals. Service impeccable and experience extraordinary.
Daniel's is a fine example of superb cooking with beautifully presented and delicious plates of food.
It is a large busy restaurant but the staff are delightful and always there to guide you in friendly professional way.
It is obviously a high end restaurant and the price reflects that. However, if you want to experience perfection then it is well worth the cost.
It was amazing
very quiet, the service is perfect. the food is delicate
Not the most welcoming place. Food was mediocre. Service Staff was kind and friendly.
It’s always good to be back. Daniel doesn’t disappoint.
As usual the entire team at Daniel never disappoints. We had an amazing evening thanks to George and Elvir.
We had a wonderful anniversary dinner there. Amazing food and service
Our captain/head waiter was very gracious and excellent. His coordination of everything - including a special customised menu with a greeting - was extremely thoughtful. Although the food was very good, it was the service that really made the evening special.
Awesome, as always. Hard to beat for food, wine, service or atmosphere.
The food and service at Daniel was outstanding. We enjoyed all of the courses we ordered. We went with fish courses which were wonderful and next time we will also try the the steak, suckling pig and chicken dishes as well. The people greeting us could not be nicer, as well as our waiter Giovanni. Everyone that served us was gracious and kind. We even got our favorite dessert wine! Thank you Daniel for everything! Really good. I had high expectations and they met or exceeded them. Service was excelent. Taste of the food was perfect. They really executed the prix fixe very well. Desert was VERY good. My wife and i were very happy.
Tolles Ambiente, wunderbares Essen (Tasting Menu) mit dazu passender Weinbegleitung (ältere Weine). Ich werde wieder im Daniel essen und geniessen
This was another fantastic, outstanding experience. The food was absolutely perfect. The service was impeccable.
Atmosphere is good, service was great, food were okay, dessert were disappointed. The waiters watching you and provide you with the service quickly even before you think of asking. It was great.
The food didn't wow me or maybe I have too much expectation for this two star Michelin restaurant. I have crustacean allergy. Many other Michelin restaurant were willing to switch out one or two ingredients or modify the dish for me but Daniel refused. The servicer claimed the dish were pre-cook. If there food are not freshly made, I don't think I will ever go back.
Last, the dessert were disappointing. I could not taste any layer of favors other than sugary.
Daniel is top-tier Manhattan dining. Dinner for two with tax and tip was in the $700 range. If you can handle that, go for it. You will be very richly rewarded.
Everything was outstanding except for the portion sizes. The beef entree was ridiculously smart and we were both hungry after eating it. Also, the sweet (desert) portion was dainty but inadequate The ambiance and service are outstanding, but for a dinner bill that Came to $850 (inclusive of a nice bottle of wine and service) for two people, we felt we should not have had to leave the restaurant hungry. They provide a number of small treats during the meal, but they are small do not mitigate the other small portions.
As always, our dinner at Daniel was excellent. My wife and I had guests, one of whom a very well known chef and he, too, was as impressed with the food as we were. Service was precise and polite and food was terrific. The wine which was recommended to us was very good as well; the sommelier did his job well. This is a place we come back to with great pleasure every time we are in Manhattan.
HARD TO IMAGINE A MORE COMPLETE DINING EXPERIENCE. ALWAYS PERFECT THIS TIME TOO
This was only my third visit to Daniel, but each time is memorable. The decor, service and food are impeccable, and the evening could not have been nicer. Four standouts: the chilled pea veloute, the duck foie gras terrine, the buttermilk poached halibut, and the warm white asparagus. All of the other dishes were also delicious, but those four were so full of flavor it was ridiculous! You will pay a hefty sum to eat here, but the experience is so worth it. I can't wait to return at some point...
Once again Daniel went above & beyond which is why we have been going here since the mid ‘90’s. After all these years they haven’t lost a step & is still one of the QUINTESSENTIAL NYC fine dining experiences! From starting the evening with cocktails at the Bar (where you must try one of their table side cocktails) to the bread (which is always an indication of how the meal will go in any restaurant) to the exquisite menu and the great recommendations by the sommelier...words are not enough! An experience that will make you come back again & again!
Everything is perfect, I would recommend my friends whoever goes NYC to try this restaurant!
Not exicting , nothing special very average
Food tasty not Too Good
Celebrating our anniversary. Excellent classic French cuisine. Sommelier was attentive to our tastes and matched wine pairings with the meal wonderfully.
Outstanding experience. Unique. I highly recommend this venue.
Had 815 reservations and were not seated until 845. No explanation or apology. When being served, they put the wrong dish in front of me. Dishes sat empty on the table for over 20 minutes, and after 1 course, I had to request them remove the plates. Food was good but not memorable. Dessert was excellent. My guest ordered tea and the first pour was perfectly steeped. When given a refill, the tea was over brewed, obviously steeping in the pot while we drank. Disappointing!
Very good food and service, overall everything done just right. We were welcomed, made feel comfortable, certainly looked after and made our day special. Food was generally of the standard you’d expect from an restaurant with this pedigree - beef was amazing, and so were both the desserts. Monkfish was a little in the chewy side - still nice but wouldn’t recommend over some of the other mains. Service was to
My husband and I had an amazing experience at Daniel. Everything was perfect and we enjoyed watching the amazingly orchestrated staff throughout the evening. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!
My favorite in NYC. Always a great dinner with service beyond comparison.
A truly wonderful meal with excellent service. We were celebrating a special event and the staff went out of their way to help us celebrate. I would recommend this experience to anyone looking for something special and hope to return again soon!
In our view, Daniel is the best of the high end restaurants in New York City. Period. Hard stop.
Overall, it’s not up to a two Michelin Star mark. When the staff served you, it was fine, but service was very slow - we sat for 10 minutes, before we were attended to. Amuse bouche were ok, my prawns were over cooked.
