Was excited to easily obtain a Friday night reservation. Emily our waitress was amazing and quick to notice what we needed. Prices very reasonable for Royal Oak. Drinks very tasty. The hostess was brand new -it was her first day. She was witty and made us feel welcome. Highly recommend.

We were promptly seated at our reservation time and were given a seat next to the open windows which made it a great view and gave you a feel of sitting on a patio. Excellent martinis to start and food was delicious. Definitely will be going back again.

As soon as I walked in the African American guy ignored me for the first 30 seconds then after he sat me and my date down he told us we have an hour and a half to be there and the next reservation will be served here. Which I though was especially strange since the next two guest that got seated next to us did not get the same statement once seated as we did. Then during the end of our brunch he came back over to state the next reservation will be seated here as if we were getting kicked out. We have only been there for an hour at this point. Very unprofessional and will never come here again! This was the WORST service I ever received!

Arrived early for reservations, so stood at the bar for a drink. My friend asked if they had cucumber vodka, and she said no. Didn't offer to muddle cucumber in vodka. Which I think any good bartender would do. She then waited a while to come back to us. Our waitress was phenomenal, and apologized for a drink that we ordered that was undrinkable. We ordered the Fried Caprese salad as an appetizer, good, not great. Could've used more basil, and balsamic glaze. For dinner we ordered the Spring special, which was goat cheese ravioli, with asparagus. It was too rich, heavy, and creamy to be considered a Spring dish. An overall underwhelming experience.

The food was very good but no extras of any kind. For example, a burger usually is accompanied by chips or fries. No bread basket on table; you had to order a separate bread board. However, the cavatappi was excellent and our waitress very attentive. In these days, the latter counts for a lot!

D'Amato's has been our go to dinner spot for many years now and it only seems to get better. It thrives from a solid foundation of the best waitstaff-Dream Team in Royal Oak. And this goes for Goodnight Gracies with Jonathan, Hayley and Tyler, Ironhorse headed up by Noah behind the bar, to D'Amato's. Emily, Yvette, Marvin typically on the floor with the amazing Artimos slinging excellent drinks and serving behind the bar. Food is always on point from the talented Chef John Wingate and the affable Dave assisting. And it all is overseen by the single best restaurateur/owner in town, Tony Prainito and manager supreme Nick Hamilton. Tony makes sure every dish and every special comes out of the kitchen cooked to order and amazing. Chicken Parm, Marsala, Picatta, all the sauces including Palomino, Alfredo and Bolognese, all to die for! Homemade wedding soup is so good and in house made daily, delicious bread plate with olives, garlic and oil! Much to choose from including monthly specials and one of our favorites, blackened salmon on a a bed of wild rice and asparagus. And their Caesar salad is very good! The wine list is superb with a fair pour and before you go.....You MUST oder the in house made donuts, apples and ice cream for dessert. Forgetabloutit!

D'Amatos is truly a neighborhood gem. As Royal Oak residents, we walk to D'Amatos for dinner on a regular basis. The food is consistently very good and the service is impeccable. If you haven't dined at D'Amatos recently or if you have been considering it for a night out, you won't be disappointed. New spring entrees have been added to the menu!

Food and service were absolutely fantastic. The brisket is amazing and so is the shrimp scampi ravioli. The only issue is the lighting (or lack of). If you are in the bar area you are sitting in the dark. Not sure why there is no lighting. Otherwise it’s a 5 for 5 in all ways.

Delicious food with a nice wine list. Only complaint was we felt a little rushed - our entree was presented after just two bites of the appetizer. Otherwise a lovely meal with attentive waiter. I’m new to Royal Oak but look forward to returning.
