Sunday lunch excellent
Birthday for my partner.
New menu had just been introduced. Was fabulous.
Fantastic food and service.
The hotel bar area is a pleasant place to have a drink before your meal, with comfortable seating, suitable music at comfortable volume and interesting black and white photographs. The bar staff seemed busy and it was several minutes before anyone acknowledged us seated at the bar waiting to order drinks. The meal itself was very good, cooked well and well presented. The service was a little slow and we did wonder if they were understaffed on our Thursday night. We made several attempts to catch the eye of any member of staff fleeting by in order to ask about the menu, more water, more bread etc. No one came to 'see how we were getting on ' or if we required anything else. Topping up of glasses was done by staff on 1-2 occasions only. However, the staff were pleasant and smartly dressed. The toilet facilities were excellent. Overall, I would dine again.
Was recommended a few places but so happy I chose Dakota.
AMAZING place!!! Every course was fantastic and the service was spot on. The espresso martinis after crowned a great evening! Will definitely be back!
Very average food at quite high prices.
Waiting staff were good however, attentive without hovering over you.
We sat very close to another couple and felt conscious of speaking as the general atmosphere was quiet, this was on a Saturday night when I would expect a bit more volume.
We wouldn’t return the restaurant as the price didn’t reflect the overall experience
we booked months in advance then rang us 3 weeks before and said they could only offer the £95.00 , not the standard menu ( around £50 a head) menu, this then left us with very limited options for new years eve, so i was very dissapointed as we didnt want to pay that much, but everywhere else was pretty much booked up by then.
that sais the food and servioce were lovely last time I ate here
Slow drinks service on arrival. Drinks are extremely pricey (£15 for a Kir Royal)
Christmas menu. I had smoked salmon blini. I left half the blini as it was large, thick and tasteless.
I had the turkey mainbut this too was disappointing and I left some of this. Roast potatoes dry. Veg good but small portion. I had dessert (still hungry!). The dessert was lovely.
Service was just brilliant really great time
Family Sunday lunch absolutely perfect.
My sisters and I had an amazing time here from the warm welcome to the attentive service, great food (value for money) and awesome Cocktails. Our afternoon was made especially lovely due to Vincent and the team.
Good food and atmosphere but it wasn’t that busy so not sure why they had to sit us so close together
Fantastic Sunday lunch with family
Went for a friend’s 40th birthday, treated appallingly by a member of staff. So much so. My friend left in tears. Phoned three times to speak to a manager as we were treated so appallingly but never called back. Appalling customer service. A real shame as I have been to Dakota several times before and always experienced excellent customer service. I will never go again.
Wonderful service food and atmosphere
One of the nicest meals I have ever had! The chicken and chorizo main was delicious! Definetly worth a visit!
We had a great Saturday lunchtime meal here. Extremely good value for money for the market menu and although the restaurant was very quiet, we had a great meal. The portions were very generous and the food of excellent quality. The service was very attentive without being intrusive. We would recommend the restaurant without hesitation.
Very cosy and serene environment. Food taste really nice aswell. Overall very Impressed with everything. Will comeback more regular.
Excellent food. The seasonal items were particularly good. Venison burger was just great. The salmon, exceptional. Where from? Scarborough. You can't get better than that for wild salmon. The service is well considered and worth the tariff. Overall, not cheap but good quality, and that should be what really matters. Next time we're in Leeds, we'll definitely come here again.
Always wanted to come here & we weren't let down the service was excellent the food was amazing such a welcoming place to eat. We'll be back!!!
A good menu, albeit a little expensive, as were the drinks. The ambiance and service were good, although the restaurant is underground with no natural light/windows which could feel claustrophobic for some people. A pleasant experience and we will go back again.
Staff were very attentive and welcoming.
Would have preferred to have some music in the background. It was a very quiet afternoon in the restaurant with only 3 tables taken, which were adjacent to one another. This meant we heard other people's conversations over our own and didn't feel a sense of privacy to enjoy our meal.
Having read the reviews on trip advisor I was expecting good food and service. Very disappointing. When I made the reservation I nominated a special guest as the dinner was a celebration for a friend. I mentioned this to a member of staff on arrival. The restaurant had my friend's name and did nothing, not even a complimentary drink.
The side orders did not appear and when I chased this up with the waitress they did appear eventually without an apology. Nobody asked how our meal was. When we finished our meal all the staff were congregating around the bar and we had to find a member of staff to order drinks and ask for the bill. The staff were indifferent.
At the end of there night the manager asked how the meal was, I said "fair" and he didn't ask any further details. I found the manager at the end of the night and set out the poor service we had received and explained that we would not be paying the service charge as a result.
This restaurant purports to be top-end. It is not. Over-priced for the mediocre food and service.
Really loved this restaurant. It was a great atmosphere, fab food, good service and generally a great evening out. Will definitely be going back there.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal there for my birthday on Tue 29th. Was surprised by a Happy Birthday dessert . Also had breakfast in there the morning after which was also delicious
Delicious food, great staff, nice atmosphere, would definitely come back
Excellent meal, one of the best I had in Leeds.
Excellent all round only complaint was they did not have my booking registered although booked through open table
Great food, good service the only thing I was not happy about was that they charge you a service charge on the bill without authorisation, they said it is on menu that they do this but tried to charge us £15 for two people this should be at the end when you pay and asked if we want to pay it rather than just take it even though they say it’s on the menu not everyone will see this and how many have paid it without knowing put us off having to rush back there
Absolutely gorgeous venue. Very tasty Sunday lunch. Highly recommended.
Real quality right across the board and although it’s not cheap, it’s certainly worth paying a bit more for The exclusivity.
Went to The Dakota with friends for dinner . Been for a cocktail before , but didn't eat . Checked out the menu and decided to book for 4 for a Saturday night. From arriving at the door to going to the bar and onto the restuarant the service was outstanding , a tribute to the management. Cocktails were great and the food outstanding , not one dish dissapointed anybody. Well done , will recommend and be back very soon.
well Presented food which was enjoyed by a party of five. The ambiance was one of calmness and definitely a place to dine for a special event. Will definitely be returning
Good value Sunday lunch.
Thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the service at Dakota. This was a first Mother’s day treat, but organising presents, child and meal; while keeping clandestine from mum was proving stressful. Ashley and his team looked after us well, taken much of the worry out of the day and allowing us to relax and enjoy the beautiful food and ambience. Thank you very much Dakota for a lovely experience.
Food was excellent, service top notch and the icing on the cake was the Mother's Day treats
Went for Mothers day for Sunday lunch. The prawns and eggs benedict were excellent. The roast lamb was rather a small portion but the beef was excellent. The roast root veg was very al dente, a bit too much for us. The desserts were excellent but again a very small portion.
Nice atmosphere, very good food and nice staff. The setting was outstanding however we were seated in a corner which hindered the overall feel but all in all delightful.
