very nice up stairsv ery quiet and relaxing at fireplace upstairs until music began at bar downstairs. then it became loud and Singer was terrible! would have been a very nice Valentines Dinner at the fireplace if music was softer. Requested a seat near fireplace for 7:00PM and when we got there the hostice told us there was someone there that paid and was just leaving and she would seat us there in a minute. They were very accommodating. food was great - had shrimp and scallops. Will return soon.
Was the first time we were there. Went for a valentines dinner the day before Valentine’s Day. They offered us the special and it was fantastic. Very nice ambiance with a casual atmosphere and very reasonable.
Excellent food, drinks , music, great service. Why didn't I get points? I went.
Nice place. Clean. Good, fresh food. Definitely will return.
Sat in the bar area on a Saturday night and it was a little too loud for us but we absolutely loved the food! The grilled octopus was wonderful!
Great food, service and atmosphere! Went for a first date. Was really nice ! Not too noisy which is preferred when on a date in my opinion. Highly recommend!
This restaurant has been going down hill ever since it opened. It originally opened as a more formal Mediterranean (read Greek) restaurant. After about a year, the quality and service started to drop. About a year ago it revamped itself as a Mediterranean tavern, serving pizza from a newly installed pizza oven and offering entertainment in its bar. That is definitely the best part of the Cypress Tavern. But the restaurant, food and service suffers horribly. We went for dinner for eight. We were seated in our own corner in the newly renovated top floor. However we were quickly forgotten. We didn't even get waiter service for 75 minutes into our adventure. Even then, we had to basically beg for bread. We ordered a bottle of wine. We sent back the glasses the first time because they were dirty. Honestly, I have never, ever, done that before in a restaurant, but they were truly disgusting. When the wine was poured and the bottle left behind on the table, it was the wrong wine. It just got worse from there. We finally finished the main course about 2 1/2 hours later. #Never going back.
We stopped here for lunch with a toddler and were able to sit outside on a sunny day. The service was just right. Attentive but not intrusive. And the launch menu had something to satisfy everyone’s taste. Would definitely return to see if dinner was equally satisfying.
Greek salad was excellent. My husband's favorite here is the veal parmesan. My lamb burger was frankly tasteless. Waitress attentive. Covered outdoor patio provided a relaxing ambiance.
It was basic
We had heard such great things about Cypress and decided to go there for our anniversary dinner. We decided to share the Poutine as an appetizer. It was very disappointing. Barely any gravy and the cheese was plain mozzarella. For 8 bucks you’d think that they would use real cheese curds. Could’ve gotten better disco fries at any diner for half the price. Our entrees came before we were done with our appetizer, and one of them was cold. Had to send it back (probably to microwave). Our waiter was good...very apologetic, but we will not be going back.
Food was delicious and the service was great. I really liked the Cypress Tavern and would go back soon!
One of the best Greek Salads I’ve had since my trips to Greece. My Tuna Steak was cooked perfectly.
The food was great, the service, terrible. We sat at the bar, the blonde bartender literally forgot to look down the bar, or walk down for 45 minutes at a time. We would have ordered more food, but she didn't bother to ask us. Was our meal ok? She did not bother to ask us.
They must have recently changed their chef because the Greek salad and the french fries used to be so much better than they were this time. Disappointed that the recipes have changed, but overall, this restaurant is solid.
Hard to say which was worse - the service or food. Basically inedible!! Don't waste your time!!!
This was our first time dining at Cypress. Everyone was so friendly and the food was outstanding. There was even live music. Looking forward to warm weather and sitting outside. Be back for sure!
We loved it. Recommend the shrimp risotto and the steak. Large menu and we plan to come back soon
Food was delicious. Service was great when we said it was warm in the restaurant, action was taken to reduce the temp. Great experience
Great place. Pizza was fantastic!! The owners are a husband and wife team and they are very vigilant and stop at every table to make sure their customers are satisfied. The wait staff and food was great as well
It as basically
Very good lunch! Loved it! The Greek salad and chicken kebabs were great!
Cypress Tavern is fantastic and we're lucky to have such a wonderful place so nearby, right in our own town! Great food, service, prices, atmosphere...perfect...
Food tasted good, service haphazard though waitress tried very hard. We got a bit queasy after the meal.
Unexpectedly there was live music. We loved it. But if you wanted a quiet dinner after 8:30.... we were upstairs and it was totally fine. Main floor and it was quality loud live music.
All was absolutely perfect until the band started playing and we could no longer what hear each other was saying and had to leave
Always an enjoyable evening at Cypress. Great dishes, many choices and great service!
I had been to cypress before they expanded their menu when they just offered Mediterranean food. Food was fantastic. Went again last week and ordered the hummus appetizer and was disappointed. The hummus tasted fake, definitely not homemade. The eggplant dip also lacked flavor. Ordered the chicken souvlaki platter and that was delicious. Place is beautifully decorated and the service was excellent. Will try again one day and try something else.
My friend found hair in the marinara with the calamari. Our waitress seemed bothered to serve us. But the brick oven pizza was very good.
We have eaten take out here many times before and always enjoyed the food. This is the first time we sat down for a meal. The appetizers (blue point oysters and pikilia) and sangria were perfectly enjoyable, the blackberry bourbon cocktail wasn't great but it wasn't terrible either. My wife and older daughter enjoyed their meals. The only issues came when my younger daughter's meal was given to the child of a table seated well after us, which made our daughter wait even longer for her food. The second issue was that my pork chop was well overcooked and bone dry. The waitress and manager came out to tell me that it was cooked that way due to USDA guidelines on proper cooking temps....which is all well and good....but you can have the correct temp and still have a juicy pork chop. Honestly, it was no big deal. I sent it back and asked them to remove it from my bill. I did make sure to tip the waitress as if the item was still on my bill...since it wasn't her fault at all. I am sure the next time it will be magnificent. Even the best kitchens get one wrong every once in a while. So over all...this was a good meal...and a good experience. We will most certainly be back.
We had a large party that they accommodated with trouble. Food was delicious and in larger than average portions from a vast menu. Our server hustled and we all received our food as ordered. This is a neighborhood gem we will visit again-wish it were warm enough to sit on the patio!
This is a favorite spot of my and my husbands. Nice atmosphere, diverse menu and nice wine and drink selection. Went with my cousin recently and all was great. Was a decent crowd for a Friday, beautiful weather so we sat on the patio. Live music started around 8. Outdoor patio is lovely. They have a mix of wood and Wrought iron seating. The iron is a bit uncomfortable, although they added seat cushions which helps. The menu changes have been great. A lot of variety for apps and meals, love the mix of Italian and Greek cuisine, and the brick oven pizza is awesome. Fig and goat cheese is my favorite. We shared the dip trio, the Eggplant crisps, and my husband and I had Gyro platters while the others had pizzas. Nice dessert selection although we were too full. My only comment was that the waiter was overly attentive in the beginning when we got there and we felt like he was rushing us. We were catching up, choosing drinks and looking at the large menu and we had to ask him to come back several times. Then later on in the meal, we had to ask him three times to bring back the drink menu as he kept forgetting. He was Just inconsistent. Overall Great place!
Service was a bit odd, we had two waitresses and the communication between the both was lacking. We also wanted to sit outside due to a band that would be playing soon and they couldn't sit us outside due to lack of busboys even though there was plenty of tables. After we sat inside basiaclly every person that came in after us sat outside, it was disappointing. Other than those two issues the food was good and the drinks as well.
We love Cypress! Great food, great service and so close to our home. It will be our new go to place!
The food was good, the waiter was attentive and friendly, and the outdoor patio was delightful.
a neighbor hood restaurant, good food, so,so service, very noisy.
Friendly place, we ate outdoor and had a very pleasant experience. Menu was very nice and the meal I had was very good. Great wine list and a friendly staff.
We loved the brick oven pizzas the clams casino pizza Was our favorite. I can’t wait to go back again!!
Horrible ambience, poor food prep, not worth your time
Mother's Day dinner at Cypress was lovely. The service was a little.slow but we were not in any rush. The atmosphere was beautiful and the restaurant was clean. I don't love fixed menus but the options appealed to everyone and our meals were delicious. I have dined here before and their expansive menu is impressive. We will definitely be coming back again.
