Opened in February 2009 by Chef Andrew McConnell, the restaurant reflects his passion for exceptional and often unusual produce. Cutler & Co. has most recently been awarded 2 hats by The Age Good Food Guide 2016.
Andrew’s only fine dining venue, Cutler & Co. strikes a balance between elegance and simplicity with service that is welcoming and relaxed without compromising on attention to detail.
The flexibility of the dining room encourages leisurely family lunches, corporate dining, appetisers and drinks at the bar, pre-theatre dinners or a full degustation experience.
For a truly memorable occasion the restaurant can also be hired for exclusive functions such as weddings, work events or engagement parties.
It was my first meal at Cutler very aware and friendly. The food was delicious and the courses were spaced out. Most enjoyable experience.

Ridiculously slow service. 3.5 hours for the tasting menu is way too long.

From the moment we arrived to the minute we left, the service was impeccable. Attentive, with out being in your face.
The food was sublime. Each dish was a delight to our taste buds. And the matching wines were delivered by a knowledgeable and charismatic sommelier.
What’s not to love!
Overall for the amount we paid food was underwhelming. Fish was dry and mushroom pie was a bit too strong. The pork was beautiful. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere lovely.
Upfront poor experience of being asked to wait at front of the restaurant (we were early) and not offered a drink or anything for about 10 minutes. Then moved to a really open table which was cold and drafty. As I had been to the restaurant on several occasions before, I was feeling agitated and so asked to be moved. This was done with apology and grace. Once this occurred, we had a fabulous meal and matching wines as well as great service. Highly knowledgeable staff - sommelier was great and listened to preference to go with cheese.

My husband and I were still talking about the meal and service the next day. It was a wonderful experience and we cannot wait until we have another special occasion to celebrate, because I know where we will be eating.
What an experience, from the moment we stepped foot into this modern and well articulated restaurant we felt relaxed and jubilant. Every staff member was so welcoming and friendly and immediately our preconceptions of antiquated formality associated with fine dining evaporated. (the chefs in the open kitchen even welcomed us in!). The food was splendid, well thought out and very balanced. We enjoyed each mouth full more than the previous. Special thanks to Simone who looked after us the entire evening and made it that extra bit special!
My husband and I shared the duck which was a little bland, and possibly a touch on the rare side as it was slightly chewy. The oysters and whiting we had for entree were excellent. Excellent service and overall a lovely evening.
The service was amazing. It was same as Michelin star restaurant level (in Japan)
I really enjoyed food as well. I really liked King george whiting dish.
But, because of everything was perfect to me, the red emporer dish seemed a bit boring to me. I would prefer more flaver and different type of sauce.
I also had Cherry blossom dessert, but personally, I didnt like this dessert. the presentation was very nice, however I didnt like the taste and texture of purple thing?
Very nice place. Food was good without being outstanding, no dish wowed us. Large bone in fish, received and apology and gave a complementary desert.

Very few high end experiences deliver in Melbourne. The service can be smug and the prices are extortionate.
However, Cutler and Co was tremendous. It stands out among the hype. Exceptional service, gorgeous space and simple menu. Well done team.
We had our dinner here for the first night of our honeymoon trip around Austalia. It was a fantastic experience, we received exemplary service from start to finish.
We had the zucchini flower and the mouth-watering dry aged rib eye (recommend reserving a piece when making a booking) to share. It tasted amazing and cooked to perfection. We did have a dessert each, however I forgot the name of them, but it was definitely worth a try too.
Give this place a try, will recommend it to anyone!
Simply amazing. We decided to share plates so they brought us 2 plates for each dish with divided portions. The butter is the best I have ever had! Every single dish was cooked to perefection. We had a great night
Amazing food and fantastic service! Cosy ambience and nicely spaced out tables for privacy. We were served by Simone who was so friendly and genuine. We had the chef’s selection and loved the spanner crab dish and the Blueberry vacherin dessert the most. Would definitely come back.

Yes I would recommend, however for the price there are many other great choices in Melbourne. The sommelier was very knowledgable and the waitress was lovely. Food was nice but not outstanding.

It was our first time dining at Cutler and Co and we found the experience was excellent. The food was delicious and plentiful. Outvwaitress Clark was mostvattentive and the sommelier was very helpful. The ambience was smart casual , the tables were well spaced apart which helped reduce the noise level. We decided it was our new favourite restaurant in Melbourne. Thankyou

We loved our experience at Cutler & Co. My only (negative) feedback is that we thought the music could have been played a little louder (typically it's the opposite!) and that additional vegetarian options would have made the experience perfect. All in all we were super impressed and had a gorgeous evening, we'll definitely be back!
i would highly recommend Cutler & Co! The space is well thought through with a formal yet cosy atmosphere. Service is professional and friendly all staff we had contact with had an excellent understanding of professional hospitality with excellent knowledge of the menu and wine. We loved the open kitchen with approachable kitchen team. An outstanding produce driven menu with skilled plating and delicious flavours created with care.
The food was excellent tasting but I think the price of the banquet was extautionate and not good value for money for $170 per head! The portion sizes were way too small and we left the venue hungry. I have had better meals for a fraction of the price. Would not recommend to friends

Enjoyed a nice meal but the whole experience didn't blow me away as I expected and as the price should reflect. The pig and veal mains were spectacular however the rest of the food was pretty good. Happy I've experienced but not in any rush to return. The service was excellent and very informative. Just wish every dish was a party in the mouth.

Tried the chef selection menu. Most of the dishes were good but nothing to write home about.
Kingfish dish you can probably find at any other restaurant, not much creativity.
Potatoes mouse with crab was probably the most savory dish of the evening.
Suckling pig again was good... But could get that at any Chinese restaurant.

Food and service were outstanding. We had the duck to share and it was simply fantastic. Definitely recommended when you want to get a ridiculous food and to be really spoiled by great staff. Five stars all the way!

Inventive food well plated, service attentive without being intrusive
We were lucky enough to reserve a table to attend the Gourmet Traveller Dinner. The food, the service, the wine and the ambiance were all top rate. The dinner was very good value with matching wines from Shadowfax winery. Enjoyed it immensely. Now we want to go back and choose from the A La Carte menu.
Awesome place to have Sunday lunch. Food is always amazing, great variety in the degustation. Customer service is impeccable. Little on the expensive side if you also go with matching wines, but well worth it.
