Felt like I was in Italy. Very Italian cuisine and very good Italian food. Bread came out with cheese, chickpeas, olives, olive oil and butter. Entreés were prepared very well. I had fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. I’d go back for it again!
Excellent food and service. Restaurant was full with a minimal noise level. The Château Briand was unbelievable, and set up for two, perfect. Open table reservations were Very simple with excellent communication.
After we had finished our glass, nobody ever came back to ask us if we wanted more up until the time that we were leaving the restaurant, the food served there didn’t feel like it was up to expectation for the price it was set to
Maybe picking Valentine's Day as our first visit wasn't timed well for them, but their website didn't indicate an abbreviated regular menu in addition to a special couples menu. My Bolognese didn't have much flavor. My wife's vegetables were burned. We never got extra bread even though we asked twice. Probably will stick with Carbone's.
The Valentine Sweetheart Menu was excellent! Great value. Tables were a bit too close together, but otherwise everything was quite lovely. The chateaubriand was delicious and done exactly as we ordered.
We dined here tonight for Valentines Day, which also happens to be our 5 year anniversary. It was fine. When I made my reservation a month prior, I notated that it was our 5 year anniversary and requested a decent two top near the window, if possible, or another suitable substitute. We were first offered a 4-seat high top in the bar and were then sat in the main dining room in the far back corner, literally up against the wall and directly in front of the emergency exit (it was 20° out tonight). It was definitely the worst seat in the house. We decided to move to the high top in the bar.
After we were seated, our server (Jovani) introduced himself and brought us water, but then did not appear again for a very long time. Eventually, we ordered a bottle of wine, and some time after that, an appetizer and two entree’s. The server’s recommendation for the wine was good. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal and experience was mediocre. Food, both appetizer and entrees, was fine; not terrible, but definitely not great.
Service continued to decline. We got the feeling that the restaurant was understaffed this evening. After we had finished our meal, the server approached our table (having not seen him for a solid 30 minutes) and said “Will that be all for you tonight?”. We were a little taken aback and felt as though we were being rushed out. “Actually we’d like to order dessert.” His rushed but polite demeanor seemed to switch to disappointment. He quickly returned with dessert menus and asked what we’d like. He hurriedly scribbled our orders on his note pad and very quickly brought back our desserts. Surprisingly, the chocolate mouse dessert was fantastic. He returned shorty after with the check. We promptly paid (tipped 20%), finished our desserts and wine, then left immediately. I read such great reviews for this restaurant prior to making my reservation for this special evening. Unfortunately, we did not enjoy our food or experience enough to want to return.
Everything was absolutely amazing! We got a dinner recommendation from the proprietor, and he did not lead us astray! We ordered from the sweetheart menu on Valentine’s Day, and it was all so delicious!
If I could offer any criticism, it would be that the tables were a little too close together. But really it was still great!
My first time eating at this restaurant and I fell in love. The food was wonderful and the service was very friendly. I would recommend this place for any couple wanting that romantic night out.
My wife's meal was not fully cooked. My meal was very good. Super nice staff.
Outstanding service (Michele was phenomenal) and excellent food for the value. Can’t wait to go back.
Giovanni is by far the most gracious, friendly, caring and personable ambassador for Cugino's Restaurant. The wait for a table was longer than expected and the staff was handling it as well they could. When we did get seated Giovanni came right over and apologized. Even better he made the whole experience incredible, even with a wait. The food was great, the restaurant is fantastic. Giovanni is what sets this restaurant apart from similarly great restaurants.
We were 3 couples reconnecting after some time and this was a great atmosphere. The room was comfy and the service both friendly and attentive. The room was full and kinda loud requiring us to shout a bit which some of us do naturally anyway. The menu had plenty of choices but one disappointment was that several of the specials were already sold out (our reservation was for 7:30pm on Saturday). Food was tasty and well prepared. Overall a good experience.
i hadn't been in years and i regret this. Everything was on point from food to service. Restaurant looked beautiful for Christmas too!
Fantastic service and excellent food! Will be back very soon!
Veal was nice and thin which is outstanding. Side of pasta was terrible. Sauce tasted like out of a can. My girlfriends Seafood Melody was ok, (a bit too much pasta), nothing over the top. Shrimp cocktail was outstanding. Overall the food was adequate and a bit pricey.
It was an amazing dining experience and a fantastic way to welcome 2020!
Giovanni and the staff at Cugino's are top notch. Looking forward to many wonderful meals there in the future. We were treated like family not customers.
This was our first time at this restaurant. Picked it from reviews. We were not disappointed. Staff was very friendly & attentive. Food was excellent. Presentation of meal was also well done. Hope to get back soon. Wish it was closer to where we live.
The food and service are my reasons to keep returning. Have never been disappointed by either.
Owners are great!
Selection was great. Prices reasonable. Food excellent. Service (Michele) outstanding!!
The food was fantastic as was Giovanni (sorry if I spelled the name wrong)!
Very nice dinner with family & friends. The place was packed, decorated for the holidays & they had festive music playing. My organic roasted chicken was moist & tasty, friends had the Marsala, chefs meat & cheese platter, calamari & crab cakes. Nothing left on our plates. Great service by the waitstaff. Look forward to going back.
This restaurant through the years has always been consistently excellent. Great Italian food!
Delicious dinner from start to finish. Excellent service and in a beautiful setting. We love it both inside and out.
Food was excellent; however, noice level was high due to inappropriate dinner time music played extremely loud.
The acoustics of the main room are loud and it is difficult to have conversations. Otherwise we love it here.
HORRIBLE ! Although the server was new and did the best she could we left hungry, angry and vowed Never to return.
The meal portions have shrunk to fitting on a bread plate. When we requested bread with our salad course we were given a basket of what appeared to be bagel chips and dip. Not what you want with your artichoke salad, YUCK! My husband's burger was so small when we left he said he was ready for lunch now that we had appetizers. Yes, the portions are that small. We tried to wave over a manager to question the Bagel Chips, but he was too busy at the bar watching football, to care. Did I mention that we were one of only two tables in the Entire dining room? A new restaurant down the street had a one hour wait. We will be saying goodbye to Cugino's very soon. We will Never Return.
We arrived early for our reservation and the hostess managed to seat us within 10 minutes, even though the restaurant was full to capacity, even the bar area. The service was impeccable and the food was great as always..I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal!
One of my favorite places. They were rather busy this night and service was slow. For some reason they were seating people in the bar area and they had a keyboard player playing all night. This section can be rather cramped for space. Nonetheless all went well despite the slower service. We will continue to frequent Cugino's.
The Italian food here is always outstanding. Our server, Shannon who is newer, was terrific. Highly recommended.
Fabulous! I had the lobster Ravioli. Not only was the lobster in the ravioli they also put additional on top. I also asked if they can add asparagus and sun-dried tomatoes to the sauce on top, done without hesitation. This dish and the tiramisu for desert was a great! I have never had a bad meal. See you soon!
My companions had salmon and veal which they very much enjoyed. I had short ribs that were essentially tasteless and which were served on a pile of mediocre mashed potatoes. Not a memorable experience.
We went with another couple and we all thought the menu choices were terrific, the service was great and everything was delicious!
Went for lunch with wife and a friend. First was my regular pet peeve, they wipe the table and not the chairs. Had to wipe crumbs off. The start with fresh bread and a pesto sauce which was very good. I had a special of shrimp and scallops over fettuccine. I did not care for it very much and felt the scallops looked off. My wife had the Sicilian Cavatelli which she enjoyed. Our friend had the Braised Beef Short Ribs which she also enjoyed. Service was excellent. Would return again but stick to the regular menu.
This is an upscale Italian Restaurant whose menu contains both classic and interesting new dishes. I reviewed this restaurant in September and gave it a mediocre review because of a number of issues with service. We discovered that the owners of Cugino’s take their reputation seriously and they asked us to return to give them another chance to do right by us. They more than did right by us and the food and service was everything it should have been. A seafood medley salad was a new appetizer on the specials menu and it was outstanding. It could serve as a stand alone lunch and I hope it finds a home on the regular menu. Between the 4 of us who went, we had a variety of appetizers and main courses, all of which were excellent. One of my friends said her fillet was the best she has ever had. The short ribs of beef that I had were first rate while my partner’s scallops were delicious. The owner, Mario, is in charge of the kitchen and his brother, Giovanni, ran the front of the house, their caring, attention to detail, understanding of service, and willingness to make things right made this a memorable dinning experience. By the way, save room for dessert.
Amazing service. Our waiter was Jiovani and he was awesome. We went in for Brunch and the food was really good, best french toast ever.
Food was good as always
