Love this spot! Great food and drink. Great service too. Very nice ambiance...will go back!
Great food and an extremely well run wine bar and restaurant.
On a cold night, this place is perfect! It’s warm and softly lit and the food and service is delicious!
Best food for the $ in all of Dallas. The halibut and tomato soup are as good as it gets. Pizza is just Ok.
Great wine bar with great selection of food. Recommended by Fairmont Hotel, Dallas
Very nice, quaint and well stocked wine bar. Excellent staff, service and the food is incredible; as well as the wide selection of wines from across the globe.
Movie and dinner date with my wife
Thanksgiving dinner was delicious. Everything was great. My dad had the halibut and it was one of the best pieces of fish I have ever had. We all enjoyed every course.
Favorite place, per usual!
Lo made my birthday so special! Everything was perfect!
The service was not that great. It took forever to get wine, a refill on water, but as soon as we asked for the checks those came immediately. There were maybe 5 tables the whole night. I rarely saw our server.
Amanda greeted me immediately. She was amazing. We had a great time because of her. The food was incredible.
Knowledgeable staff. Delectable dining with attention to fine details. Fresh ingredients. All in a cozy atmosphere.
Cru is always enjoyable. Nice wine selection and the menu just right.
Went to Cru last Saturday to eat outside and enjoy the Fall weather. We took our dog and ate out on the patio. Service was very friendly and personal. We started with the lobster and shrimp pot stickers which were to die for. Everything about the pot stickers were tasty. For the meal, I had their salmon plate and my wife had some kind of cheese and meat plate with little toast things with spicy mustard which I tasted. Kudos to the chef, the whole meal was excellent. Shrimp can be bland but this shrimp was moist and seasoned perfectly and way the vegetables that it sat in was prepared made it exceptional. We had a bottle of red California wine with the food. We didn't feel that it took very long for the food to be prepared at all but we were caught up with how good the pot stickers were and it didn't take long to get them. Overall, it was a great experience, good weather, good service and great food and I am a hard person to please. We will be back.
Great place! Wine flights were fun. Pizza and Lamb Lollipops were super. Highly recommend!
I love Cru bar. all the food is excellent. all the wine is excellent. the service good. my favorite place in town to eat!!!
Wonderful place for a casual evening. Great wines and professional, knowledgeable staff.
They were out of mussels. Salad was too soggy - over dressed.
A GREAT place for beginners and enthusiasts both to explore the world of wine. Well thought out tasting flights, a good master list, and good food to accompany the wines. What more could you ask? And our server was outstanding. Worth a visit!!!
Great mimosas! The food portions could have been bigger
surprised that the apps were so uninspired, but love the champagne half price day
We enjoyed the wonderfully prepared Cedar Plank Copper River Salmon and veggies!! However, there was supposed to be 4 grilled asparagus and it came with 2 sliced ones that appeared to be 4. Also requested that the asparagus be totally cooked but they were tough. Other than that, the sliced cottage potatoes were good and the delisheous Salmon was excellent!!
Great prix fix menu for fathers day. Nice choices for appetizer ,entree and dessert. Mimosas were a good value. Quality of the food and presentation was excellent
We had salmon and lamb lollipops - food was good. The wine was good but all selections were fairly pricey. We enjoyed sitting outside on a beautiful evening. Our server was great! She was pleasant and attentive but didn't rush us.
The food at Cru is amazing! I always love eating there. This was my first time at the West Village location and the service was not good. It took forever for someone to acknowledge us once we sat down. It wasn't until I asked about 10 minutes in if we could have a server that someone came over and helped us. We then found out she wasn't even our server. Several people helped us (without introducing themselves or apologizing for the delay) so I had to ask who our server was. Additionally, it was not very busy so we were under the impression that the server just did not care.
Always a pleasure. Love their wine flights
They seemed irritated that we didn't make reservations far in advance. We tend to make our evening plans after we leave the house and rely on open table to give us options of available tables around town at that moment. Don't say you have available tables at a time and then get mad when we select that time slot. There were tables available and frankly even if we had to wait, it would have been fine. They just copped an attitude and snarked "did you just now make this reservation?". Um, yes? I mean what was I supposed to say and why did it matter? Then the guy spilled water all over us as he rushed to clean the table next to us. He never did come back to mop up the floor so we sat with large puddles at our feet... Our actual server was very nice however. And the nibbles we had were good. I'm not much of a wino so I don't know one from another and I tend to enjoy really cheap trader Joe's wine so I can't speak to the quality or selection of the wine at Cru, but the server did figure out after the fact that the sheet that described my flight was not updated. Didn't bother me but a real wine person might have been bothered by the inaccuracy of information if the wine was their goal.
I found it odd that there were so many seats available . I had been to Cru before , maybe a year ago and it was quite crowded and lively . Not the case this time 5:30 pm on a Saturday . Very disappointed , the price of my entree was $28 for a scallop dinner . This was a complete rip off. Not sure what the broth is that it was in , but way too salty. Moreover , I am sensitive and believe it was MSG or some flavoring because I had a headache soon after . I also had a salad , which was fine . No complaints there . I saw the menu online and apparently it was not what we were given upon arrival . I ‘be been to expensive restaurants and enjoyed seafood , especially in NYC and other places , and it was worth the price . Here not at all worth it , and I will not be back !
I always end up having a great experience at Cru. Service is great, as well as the food. Would recommend to anyone!
Great date! You MUST. Let the “wine fairy ASIA “help you in your selection of wine ~ so talented and informed ~ and great personality! You’ll love this Gem... give it a try!
Amazing dinner, wine, and ambiance. Perfect low-key, romantic date spot!
Server was... aggressive. Like we know you know wine. Just uh, let us order damn
Honestly the food was great and the ambiance is amazing. The service and selection was sub par for sure. I picked this for weekend brunch with my friends because it was out of the norm. It was disappointing that the only drink options were wine and water. Some of my friends don’t drink but like soda or mixed drinks .....bummer #1, the second thing was that we ordered some things that were never brought out....bummer #2. This could definitely be a really great place but has some basics to work on.
First time there for my birthday and I enjoy it. I will be going there again
one of the top wine bars in Dallas. They have a decent menu of wines. They were kind when I sat at a table for over 30 minutes waiting for friends. The service was friendly and accurate. I'll go back for sure to try other things on the menu.
We came for Valentine's Day and overall the experience was lack-luster at best. We were looking forward to the outdoor seating because it was a beautiful night, but were placed inside adjacent to the kitchen. It was very noisy, the service was slow, and the food itself was very bland. All of the courses lacked salt, the proteins were not cooked properly (we had the fish - under cooked - and the scallops - overcooked and rubbery), and even the desserts fell flat. We were looking forward to the "red velvet tiramisu" but it was a simple red velvet cake with a raspberry sauce/glaze...there was no resemblance to a tiramisu at all. I know Valentine's Day tends to be a very busy restaurant day, but with a pre-fix menu, everything should have been well executed. I may try to come back to Cru again and experience the regular menu, but I won't be in a hurry to do so.
They are new to Open Table & they’re a small space, so be patient with them as they get used to the process. Also, don’t book 15 minutes before arriving and get frustrated if they aren’t ready for you.
We love their wine flights and cheese boards. The flatbreads are good too. It’s our favorite neighborhood wine bistro. Great staff!!
We enjoyed the food and ambience!
Nice location and obviously wine selection. Food and service was great. A little pricey for serving sizes, but goes with area. Great for a premovie meal for nearby Magnolia.
