We first received wrong starter, then when I received my main meal I thought I was given the wrong meal again as I ordered beef cheeks with gnocchi and there was no beef on my plate. The girl brought my meal back to the kitchen and my husband was finished his meal before mine was returned.
We dined at the Gusti with a voucher that gave us $100 worth of food for $50. My partner's entree of scallops and main of chicken schnitzel were both first class and although my main of crab and prawn linguine was very nice, I found the entree to be underwhelming. It was listed as cauliflower fritters but was, in fact, battered, deep fried cauliflower pieces. We shared a dessert of ice cream and lava cake which was the usual fare however when we attempted to drink the coffees we had ordered it proved impossible. One mouthful was all either of us could manage as it was salty beyond belief. Another couple from a nearby table, upon seeing our reaction asked if our coffee tasted strange. We said it certainly did and they told us they had returned their first coffees, received second cups which were also undrinkable and had given up. We didn't risk a second cup, we just asked for the price to be taken off the bill. If I had to hazard a guess, I would say there was a very bad calcium build up in their coffee machine however, that is only my opinion.
Having said that, however, I would certainly try the restaurant again as the food and service were both good.
I do not know if using a scoopon had any effect on the quality of food provided. The menu price of $43 dollars for all grill items is too expensive for quality of food provided.
2 of us both ordered medium T bone which was served on top of a tablespoon of mashed potatoes and 3 green beans. One was cooked medium but was very grizzly and one was served rare with blood running out.
Had a Gusti voucher and our food was outstanding, sirloin steak cooked to perfection, Caesar salad best I’ve had for a long time, bruschetta delicious, all in all a delicious lunch
The pork tacos were spicy this time. The salmon was good and the seafood pot was okay also. The garlic bread was a little more oily than normal
First time my husband I have been to Gusti and enjoyed our lunch. We will definitely be coming back. The food was lovely, the male waiter was very friendly and had a chat. The scenery looking over the river was lovey. Had braised beef cheeks with gnocchi...loved it. Cant wait to try something else next time. Thanks for a nice arvo.
We had guests with us who had never been to Gusti before and they will be back ...the experience ticked all the boxes
We went on a Scoupon Voucher. Our order was wrong, we had an extra dish but took it to get the value of the voucher. The food was very disappointing, the service was slow. Won't go back there. (The musician was good)
Four of us had dinner on the way home from work and once more found this place to have it all ... cost, ambience, staff and food to unwind and have a meal. There was no sense of having to rush we actually arrived at 5:30pm and finally left at 9pm. We were tee total and stayed simply because it was all so good.
we picked the wrong main, same for both, an extremely spicy hot seafood dish, disappointing really, as it was too hot to enjoy and the accompanying bread was overcooked, making eating it hard.
Very nice menu, service quite good, food excellent worth the wait.
My husband loved the lamb cutlets. We will definitely be back again.
Food was lovely. Service a little slow.
We enjoyed a delicious meal, accompanied by a very delightful cocktail carafe of rose sangria. The meals were huge and it was a shame not to be able to eat it all!
Too noisy .service was slow .oordered a red and recieved a red wine.
Scallops were very nice.
Sirloin medium rare was tough to cut
The alfresco dining is lovely overlooking the Swan River but the food is overpriced because of that and definitely not up to standard. Two people at our table had the 350 gm sirloin steak medium rare. It was cooked right but the steak was very tough and sinewy and the steak knife had trouble getting through it, really terrible quality for a $43 steak!!!! We have eaten there 4 times in the past and the last 2 times have been very disappointing.
My first visit to Gusti and I was pleasantly surprised. A hidden gem.
Excellent food and excellence service by the gentleman who went out his way to ensure our family celebrated our special occasion with top service and made us feel very welcomed. Thank you.
The food was absolutely gorgeous and the service amazing. We enjoyed ourselves immensely!
Wonderful views of the Swan River. Food - fresh and enjoyable.
A lovely location overlooking langley park and the swan river looking across to south perth. Service was very friendly and efficient in taking our order. It was disappointing to note that our main course was delivered but not some of the side serves we had ordered. we had to ask “where were they”. The missing dishes then appeared.
The quality of the food was good. Overall an enjoyable dinner. i
A great meal with hubby! I had the lamb shank and he had the grilled lamb cutlets. The food was awesome in taste and presentation. The wait staff were very friendly and efficient.
My only ‘complaint’ was when I ordered the spinach, apple & walnut salad It came with cheese grated over the top, which wasn’t mentioned on the menu. (I’m allergic to cow’s cheese and would have asked them to ‘hold the cheese’ or chosen something else.!) The waitress happily returned it to the kitchen for a new salad, which could have had more apple and way less spinach! The walnuts were great, tasting as if they’d been roasted in an sweet syrup! Hubby’s meal was very tasty, though the mushroom jus was more liquid than expected and could have been more generous in amount. Apart from these minor observations we really enjoyed our meal!
The restaurant was clean and more upmarket than I was expecting and had lovely views of the river in the distance. We thought the $43 charge for the grill was a tad high but the other prices were comparable with similar places we’ve eaten.
Beautiful food. Beautiful staff. And the river view is so relaxing.
Airy open restaurant, with views of the river from the alfresco dining area. Easy, and free parking for CBD restaurant for two hours, which was much appreciated. Food very nice too! We enjoyed our girls' get together here!
We stayed for 5 days at the Crown Plaza. On Christmas Eve we had dinner at the restaurant. The recommendet dress code was smart casual.Thongs and t-shirt doesn't fit our standard!I ordered a starter and a main course. The main course came first and than the starter. How bad can it get.The breakfast buffet was badly looked after. No cups no drinking glasses at times, regular emty plates at the buffet and the dress code as far down to bare feed been seen.No thanks never again.
Pleasant view .Chairs and decor only fair. We were only guests for most of meal.Little atmosphere.
Meal good.Sweets were delicious.
2 of us had the t bone steak , couldn’t cut it with the stark knife, charged 3$ for bottle of water
The Tuna Entree was delicious and the chicken parmigiana was huge!!
It was the 4th time for breakfast
All other times were left feeling full and content
Saturday gone we left feeling deflated
Had to wait for food to be replaced
Pancake machine ran out and had to ask for it to be topped up
This evening the food was excellent all the way. We spoke to the waitress to give our compliments to the chef and she said that the head chef worked that evening and that she would pass on our positive feedback.
We went for the $10 fish and chip night. The serving proved to be too much to eat. We ordered drinks as well and my son decided he wanted desert, which was probably the best dish of the night. We will be going back again. I saw the lamb shank and would love to give it a try if the aroma was anything to go by. Also booked for Christmas lunch. Will let you know how Sunday breakfast buffet goes. Oh, and the fact it's right next door to our apartment building also helps. I can roll home after a vino or two.
Staff are not very attentive to guests even though there may not be many people in the restaurant. We waited about 15-20 mins before our order was taken and we were not even given any water. Staff walk back and forth but don’t take any notice of customers waiting to order. Once staff attend the table they are kind and polite. The salmon and seafood pot were lovely but the garlic bread was oilier than usual. The pork tacos were tasty and very enjoyable
great staff, value for money and the menu was a little varied from last visit, which is great!
Slow service - staff seemed to forget us and we had to find someone to serve us
We have eten at Gusti several times now and this was by far our worst visit. We were using a voucher but that hasn't impacted this review. It was a busy Friday night so maybe that was the problem. My wife's meal and my veggies came after a moderate wait and then my main arrived 10 minutes later! Not good guys. The lamb chops I had were a little over-cooked but everything else was great. We will visit again but if we have the same issues then it will be a no go in the future.
Good venue - views, good food and excellent service....
Beautiful food, nice atmosphere, great service. Good value
I had the tacos for the entree, they were very tasty and were a large serving size. My main was the beef curry, also very tasty (the head chef is Indian after all). The food was well presented and fresh. The waitresses very friendly and attentive.
Food was lovely. Only one criticism, the Grazing Plate either needed cracker biscuits or bread to use with the dips. Garlic bread was beautiful but had a lot of air bubbles which didn't allow much spread to be put on it.
excellent staff excellent service - chef is hands on and prepares special requests.
The food was amazing. All 3 of us really enjoyed our starters (Seared tuna loin, Pork tacos, Wasabi prawns) & mains (Slow cooked red wine lamb shanks, Seafood pot au feu, steak).
However, the service was terrible. We were very close to walking out.
We waited by "please wait to be seated" sign with another couple for 10 minutes before we realised no-one was coming! Then at other end of restaurant for 10 minutes, before I grabbed one of the waitresses rushing around and asked to be seated. We were given a table by back entrance where door keeps opening automatically which wasn't appreciated on a cold night! Had to go looking for our menus ourselves. Asked twice for water and ended up with a piece of plastic floating in mine. They got our drinks wrong but didn't charge for that. Staff were lovely and friendly but just too busy to serve properly.
Would have liked to have had a dessert but never saw a dessert menu & couldn't wait any longer. Shame as this place could be fantastic as food really was excellent.
