   I’ve given this venue a couple of chances, but unfortunately, the experience hasn’t improved. The service was quite slow considering the number of guests dining, and the bar consistently struggles to get orders right. Our table ordered drinks with our meals, and when some of us later went to the bar to get more, we were told they’d bring them to our table instead—only to receive the wrong drinks. The food itself wasn’t terrible, but it could definitely use more flavour. The most frustrating part of the visit was finding out at the bar that we couldn’t split the bill. There was no signage or notice on the menu to indicate this, at least none that we could see. Additionally, the surcharge on the final bill came as a surprise; it would have been better if this had been mentioned upfront. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and the venue itself has a nice atmosphere—it just needs some attention to service and communication details.

   The booking system was very easy. Our table was ready when we arrived and we were given the option to move to an outdoor table since it was such a pleasant day. We looked at the outdoor tables but the chairs and tables looked very dirty so we elected to stay with out inside table. Our waiter was very good. The meals arrived promptly and were very nice. The whole experience soured when we went to pay. The girl at the bar told us that they did not split bills. She said this should have been told to us when we arrived, but is wasn't. We then settled the bill and incurred a credit card surcharge which was not displayed. If we had been aware of the surcharge we would have paid cash. It was a very disappointing end to what had been a very nice birthday celebration for my friend. Despite the good food, excellent price and quiet atmosphere, we will not be returning.

   Food and atmosphere was good. With one of our courses they missed an ingredient, they apologized and brought over the missing ingredient. Overall meals were lovely.

   We waited from 7.20pm and only ate at 9pm. The longest we have ever waited in any restaurant anywhere. Sorry not worth it

   Not offered drinks for last 11/2 hrs, not offered desert, told there is no whiskey menu despite the huge whiskey selection, bartender didn’t know prices, couldn’t pay account with two credit cards, overall disappointed.

   Hi our lunch for my birthday was very pleasant. The staff were so helpful when one of our friends became unwell and needed to leave her husband called an ambulance and she was treated. Feeling much better now Kerrie

   Too many staff at us as we sat down Rushed to make order so we told them starters so we had time to think. Mushroom ragatoni was watery and very tasteless

    The outside area wasn't open and that may have made a big difference to the ambience. Hobart has so many awesome places for dinner at this proce point, and maybe we just didn't catch Core on a good night.
