*** tables for outdoor alley seating will have to close out by 10PM ***
A fine meal on an evening in which we were the only guests - so very different from earlier times with a full house. Powers simply understands what a very good restaurant does, even during this chaotic time. In about a dozen dinners at C., we have always had a very fine meal.
A wonderful thanksgiving meal! Can't wait to go back for another tasty dinner. My date and I were torn between Chef Power's signature Peppered Tuna dish or the turkey spread. We opted for the thanksgiving plate loaded with turkey, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, veggies and stuffing. Oh and the cranberry sauce! We loved it so much! Now we just have to go back for the Tuna! Best wine list in the city by far. You can find your new favorite wine at any price range. Service is always impeccable and please make sure to ask them for their wine recommendations too! 3 hours flew by with tasty bite and sip after another. During Covid times they have plenty of space between tables and offer outdoor seating.
Amazing food on Thanksgiving. The outdoor alley setup leaves much to be desired unfortunately.
Tom Power’s cooking continues to be outstanding; great soups, tuna with sushi rice, strip loin, lobster carpaccio, etc.
Excellent wine list and service and real value fir this level of quality.
Really fantastic food. I appreciate the effort they've made to open an outdoor space.
Awesome as always, best restaurant and chef in the city
Byron made the entire even special with his recommendations and attention. We enjoyed every bite from the kitchen, especially the eye crossing taste of the Concord grape sorbet-phenomenal! We almost want to go back just to order all the desserts!
The food was great. Looking forward to going back after the pandemic is over.
The food was very good, as usual. However, the outdoor dining area behind the restaurant is not a suitable place for dining.
My wife and I had an amazing experience at Corduroy. The Food is breathtaking and the presentation is astonishing. Service is outstanding and the servers are knowledgeable and friendly. I’m very pleased and definitely recommend it for a special occasion or a date night. There’s no doubt we will be returning.
Super safe outdoor seating. It was a good menu with exciting options executed very well.
Lovely place for dinner. The only issue is that when it’s cold, they have fire pits out back, which provides some warmth but not tons. Dress warmly. The food was excellent as was the service.
We have been coming here for years, it’s such an underrated gem. The dining room is cozy, quiet, and sophisticated the service is impeccable and the food consistently delicious. The seafood is always very fresh tasting and I love the subtle Japanese elements peppered throughout the dishes. This is such Aw unique restaurant in that every meal I’ve ever had is so flavorful yet balanced, being both subtle and complexly layered making each meal I’ve had here so memorable.
Corduroy remains one of our favorite fine dining rooms. Tom Power's food is always excellent, creative and prepared meticulously. His dining room is sedate, refined, understated, and comfortable. The staff is attentive and defines professionalism in service. This is more than a wonderful restaurant; it's an oasis of civilization.
Everyone was wonderful and engaging. The food was delicious and the service was great. The outdoor set up in an alley was just downright fun.
Corduroy is the most underrated restaurant in all of DC. Chef Tom Power does not disappoint. He transforms ingredients and takes them to another level. I love starting every meal here with the seasonal soup - yesterday, he had parsnip soup and charred tomato soup as available options, and of course, we got both. The parsnip soup is light, fluffy, and full of umami; the charred tomato soup was deep and complex. We then moved on to the hamachi appetizer, which was absolutely delightful. The fish was perfect and the daikon salad complemented it so well. For our entrees, we split the chef's classic big eye tuna and the strip loin special. The chef filets the tuna himself every day and it shows. We got the bread pudding to go only because we were too stuffed but didn't want to miss out on the dessert. I should also note the wine list is remarkable. As an avid foodie, I have no hesitations in recommending this restaurant.
The food was excellent and the service was professional and personal. Thsnk you.
In these strange times, we were the only party in the dining room early on a Wednesday. As always, professional and warm service, a small focused menu, extensive wine list and delicious food.
We went to Corduroy for a special occasion because we remembered the restaurant as being very upscale fine dining. The experience was quite average honestly and I could see that the restaurant is doing what it needs to survive this dire Covid environment but the choices they have made are also eroding their brand. I’m not sure I would return until things are back to normal.
Great food. They’re just getting up and running with their outdoor space, and plan to make it much nicer with overhead lights and fire pits.
Outstanding meal as always. Black bass with lentils was excellent as was the parsnip soup
Always a great experience with the fresh options on food and the classic and quite decor.
Somewhat sad that there are not more patrons due to the times.
It was great to be back at Corduroy, my favorite DC and neighborhood restaurant. The staff at Corduroy takes the COVID precautions very seriously -- staff in masks and gloves, tables spaced greater than CDC recommendations -- they have done everything perfectly to make us feel safe. The Food is spectacular. Chef Power, in the kitchen, wave greeting to customers, creating the best of the best food. His mastery in the kitchen, his consistency in taste and quality is unmatched -- I am never disappointed in Corduroy. The wine list covers old and new world wines across a variety of reasonable price points -- you'd be hard pressed not to find something on this list you like to try. If you're not dining in, think about their take out menu, which is equally amazing. Well done, Chef Power!
Excellent food and dining experience.
25th anniversary
Birthday dinner. Corduroy was great. Excellent service and the food was delicious.
I always wanted to go here and finally had my chance. We did a 5 course tasting for $70 per person. All 5 dishes were spectacular! The service was top notch. We will be coming more often - the food is absolutely delicious!
Very consistently good food, drinks, excellent service. A bit pricey but always worth it!
As always, Corduroy chef, Tom Power is amazing - the food is exquisite; service impeccable; and, experience superb. The wine list is terrific with wide selection at all price points. My favorite restaurant in DC - favorite restaurant anywhere!
Great for a late night dining.
We really like Corduroy! We love the food and quality service! We appreciate that this is a small space where the noise level is such that you can actually have a conversation
Slow to bring entrees
Food excellent. Service left a little room for improvement.
Excellent food and service. Would absolutely recommend.
usually this place is great but service was awful on Satu
No complaints except the difficulty to find parking.
Food was great, all orders were to the satisfaction of the group. Service personable and attentive to all details. Cozy environment, great for conversation.
Loooooooooong wait for entres with no explanation. Unexceptional pork dish. Guest who ordered medium well received pink beef. Duck was delicious
A quiet setting with well-spaced tables, attentive service, and excellent food.
We arrived about 45 minutes early on Valentine's Day and sat at an empty bar with a marvelous bartender who made delicious cocktails and great conversation.
The food was delicious. But the service knocked it out of the park. We never were rushed, but also never waited for a thing. Our server was attentive without being intrusive. We definitely will return.
The fixed price Valentines Day dinner was outstanding! We chose the Maine lobster carpaccio and tartare appetizer - an ample and perfectly prepared celebration of lobster! My entree was pepper crusted tuna on coconut rice - juicy and flavorful. My wife had the Wagyu beef with rhubarb and was in heaven! We are both gluten free and so chose the gelato dessert of vanilla and chocolate bourbon flavors- delicious. Service was exceptional. This was our 4th special occasion at Corduroy. They know how to please and we will be back.
