I LOVE THIS PLACE! I was introduced to this restaurant as the destination for a team dinner at work, and knew as soon as I sat down at the bar and saw the menu that I HAD to come back with my husband. The drink options, the meal options, the ambience--sheer perfection. I came back with my team for a lunch meeting, and it was as phenomenal as the first time. Even with a full house, no one had to shout or strain to hear. Highly recommended!
This was my second time trying Copperwood, and I REALLY wanted to like it. We decided to try the brunch menu. Our server was amazing. I think his name was Jeff. He was very attentive, checked on us just the right amount, and kept our drinks filled. The breakfast potatoes were good, as were the fried green tomatoes, and the Belgian waffle. The butter you make for those waffles is OUTSTANDING.
Unfortunately, we found two hairs in our food - one on my daughter's waffle, and another in the butter that comes out with the French toast sticks (which MIGHT have just been a piece of lint). We didn't need the butter for the French toast sticks, and the hair on the waffle was found when she had already finished eating, and it was on the last bite. It was definitely not my daughter's hair - she's got long, blond hair, and this was a shorter, black hair. We did not tell our server, because we were pretty much done and didn't want to make a big deal. Maybe not the right thing to do in retrospect.
I think the overall quality of the food is excellent, but I can't afford (or justify) shelling out $6.50 for bacon. Everyone else I know loves the restaurant, so maybe it was an off day for me.
Our waitress was so nice. I was really disappointed that the menu I saw online was not actually the menu we could order from. No burgers or sandwiches. That can only be ordered on the bar side. Barely a kids menu. Had to ask about it. It is not on the actual menu. I don’t think we would go back.
Awesome food! Had the brown butter chicken and pork chops - both were thoroughly enjoyed. Mac and cheese side was addicting. Also try the debtor duck eggs!
Overpriced for what you get. Food was delicious though.
Very long wait for the food. Salmon crusted with horseradish was the special. Salmon was very overdone, with burnt edges. The topping was very salty. Couldn’t taste horseradish at all.
The Brussels sprout slaw was drenched and soggy.
The waiter never checked with us so we didn’t have the opportunity to give him these concerns. My husbands beef tips were very overdone and not flavorful.
I expected much better especially for the evenings special.
Good cocktails and great food. Will definitely be back.
First time at this restaurant, we were seated promptly and pleasantly. The floor around the table was covered with popcorn, no notice was made by the hostess and no attempt was made to clean the floor. Server took so long to make a first stop that we were ready to order. About 20 min later, our drinks were served - hot tea and a Bloody Mary but took another 15 to get creamer for the hot tea. Meals were pedestrian but over cooked. Despite a restaurant that was less than 1/2 full, waitress only stopped by once. After finishing our meal, I had to waive a credit card in the air for nearly 10 minutes before anyone came over.
We will not be back and I do not recommend this location to anyone.
We enjoyed our visit here. Setting was nice and comfortable and our breakfast was delicious! We had French toast sticks as an appetizer and they weee perfect sweetness! Will definitely be going back!
Always a great time at Copperwood. Out of town guests were pleased and so were the rest in our party of 7.
The bartender was doing double duty so I would rate service between fair and poor. We had to wait to get water refills, dessert and to get the checks. Eventually, we flagged down a different wait staff.
Excellent food! Great beer selection. I recommend to others.
Form the time we went in we knew we had found a wonderful place. The food was excellent. Joey our waiter was outstanding.
Fantastic service, excellent food, good local wine list. The restaurant promotes local farmers and producers; the food is really fresh and the presentation is appetizing. Our waiter was very attentive and courteous. Recommended for special occasions.
We had a wonderful dinner at the Copperwood Tavern. The food was excellent and the service was superb. I have already recommended it to several friends and will continue to do so. Thanks to the management and staff for a wonderful evening.
Nice. Good food, fast service.
Overall a good place to go too. The food selection was nice and tasted great. The service was friendly and attentive. The prices are little higher though and that makes it out of the “regular” restaurant rotation. Also, while the picnic table benches may seem like a cute design choice, they aren’t the most comfortable seating option.
Dinner was delicious but slightly over priced. Looks like lunch has more reasonable prices. Overall, I'd come back during brunch or lunch to try the different cocktails.
Food was just ok. Nothing great. Waffles were soggy and chicken was dry and over cooked. Deviled Eggs were average.
Was a little disappointed that the reservation I made was not filled on time. The wait was approximately 30 minutes and I sat at the bar while waiting, which was fine. Management's handling of the overbooked reservations aside, the service was prompt, the food was superb, and the restaurant itself was quite pleasant.
The Manager and staff made our time there fantastic. We did not mind the wait, the manager kept coming by to see how we were doing and brought us and others Chapaigne while. Will definitely come back since we like to go to Alamo Drafthouse for movies.
Excellent food, we were postponed an hour past our reservation without any relief, otherwise great.
The food was absolutely delicious. We had rabbit, chicken, scallops and steak. Everything was perfectly done. The cocktails were creative and so yummy! Would highly recommend this restaurant.
The best steaks we've had in a very long time!
Christmas Eve dinner was absolutely delicious. The kitchen didn’t miss a beat - Tomahawk steak was cooked to temp and the Truffled Mac and Cheese was divine. Our server David made helpful recommendations along the way.
We had a reservation and did not get seated until 20/30 minutes past our reservation time. Went to the bar for a drink and had to wait because there was only one bartender. I asked the waiter to light the candle at our table which he never did - I ended up taking candles from unused tables. Not a great experience. The food was good.
We’ve been here for brunch and I will say I’d rather come back for brunch than dinner. Dinner it’s the meat for the entree then you choose “shareable sides” so it’s way more expensive. Because two people can easily share a size but if you have 5 people like we did it kind of gets out of control. Plus the apps were tiny. Food was good and service was great, but their prices just aren’t great.
Best place in the neighborhood. Copperwood Tavern never disappoints.
Outstanding service and incredible food. One of our favorite restaurants in One Loudoun.
We had a team holiday lunch here and everything was delicious. Service was great! This led to going back for a NYE meal with friends. Looking forward to the next visit soon!
Great food, great service and great atmosphere!
This was one of the worst dining experiences we have had in a long time. It ended up taking close to 30 minutes to get our food after ordering (all but one plate which were the scallops I ordered which took close to 40 minutes to come out of the kitchen). The food was descent but definitely not worth the wait. The menu was confusing and wasn’t clearly explained. The prices they charge are expected for inner city DC not for Ashburn, VA. Normally we wouldn’t Ming giving a place a second shot but we will not be going back to Copperwood Tavern.
The food that came out was not quite as expected as all of the major ingredients were not listed on the menu...this is a must for today’s day and age given dietary restrictions. Additionally the food was over salted and the Brussel sprouts were over cooked and too greasy. The server was pleasant and helpful. The hostess was gracious and got us to seats quickly.
Unfortunately our reservation was not honored as they had several customers arriving late. So we ended up eating at the bar. The food was good, the bar service was slow, but overall we had a nice time.
Wow. Amazing customer service for making up for over seating reservations. Applause. Thank you. Will come again.
This place was a very pleasant surprise. It is kind of loud, but food was great! I was going to order the the rabbit and was disappointed when someone else ordered the last one. I ended up getting the pork chop and it was huge. Also, best pork chop I have EVER had at a restaurant. My wife had fish and also excellent. We ordered the Brussel sprouts as a side and they were also great. The couple we were with got asparagus and mashed potatoes. Also, very good. We shared a very nice salad and it was served to us already split vs just bringing an extra plate (sign of a good restaurant right there). We’ll go back.
Our waiter Jeff was 5star. Had brunch but the biscuit was awful. Just a normal fluffy buttermilk biscuit would bring me back more often.
Staff was overwhelmed
