Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Oak Park
Birthday celebration for a friend. Had a long day at work and hungry and tired when arrived at Cooper’s Hawk. Didn’t feel like waiting 10 minutes for our table in main dining room so we elected to sit in the bar area and were served immediately. Had terrific wait staff and food was soooo good.
We had the roasted chicken risotto and jambalaya, both were very good.
Our server was great! Food portion was good except kids ice cream... small scoop in big bowl
Our server and the service was good, overall. Our server spent time with me and my brother and I wish I could remember her name. The restaurant had a great ambiance and was not crowded when we arrived, but eventually got crowded. Our food was amazing (we ordered the short ribs) and we didn't have to wait too long for it. My server let me know how many bottle of wine I had and I informed her of the number of bottles I wanted to take home. She informed me to go to the counter and they would be waiting for me. When dinner was over, I went to the counter to claim my wine and the lady told me I had 4 bottles and she would be deducting the bottles. I informed her about my server and what she did. She was not very nice and said she was going to check. I didn't appreciate the back and forth conversation and I should have asked for a manager. She took her time researching that the bottles of wine were at the front. She handed me the bottles and didn't say a word. I left and that experience took away from my dinner experience. I won't go as far to say that I won't visit that location, but I was not happy once I left.
Great time with family and friends and it's nearby for all.
Sound level was deafening. Granted it was a Saturday night... but we honestly needed to shout the whole time. It was girls night out, we had fun but wouldn't ever come back except maybe for lunch when it might be a little less crazy and just quieter.
Had a great time entertaining friends. Service was excellent and our table was waiting for us rite on time. Blake was our server that evening and he was very helpful. We will be back again. Our friends were there for the first time and they were very impressed.
Girls night. Always my go to place with family and friends.
It’s really great that we could taste different wines before selecting a glass of them. Food was so-so but I really enjoyed the flights of wine! Very comfortable seating and atmosphere.
A date with my husband is usually few and far between. So we splurge on a night out with a nice dinner and glass of wine. The service was good and so was the food. The wine is always the best!
The food was amazing and our waitress was great, but once we had our wine waste we were ignore. They only tailored to their top clients and pretend we weren’t there. After we went to a new waitress, they told that waitress they had served us when they hadn’t. Worst place ever.the one waitress was even texting before paying attention
Lovely lunch as usual! Great service too.
Every time I have visited Cooper's Hawk prior to yesterday, the experience has been so top-notch that it has stayed on my favorites list, but last night, I felt like the service had slipped a notch. I hope this can be mostly attributed to it being Labor Day, and perhaps they were short-staffed or had new staff. It was our anniversary, and we had high hopes as we were greeted enthusiastically by the manager and our server while being seated. We got our initial drinks and wine tastings fairly quickly, but everything slowed down considerably after we placed our dinner orders. There was a fair amount of time that we didnt see our server and didnt receive one of our glasses of wine until well after our long-awaited meals had been delivered. The overall vibe of the room seemed more chaotic than normal, with things being dropped, servers grumbling as they walked into the kitchen, and one table of patrons (who had been reseated after their party got too large for a booth) carrying their own plates and wine carafes to the new table. We didnt have silverware when we arrived, and after asking for them (after our appetizers had been delivered) and not receiving cloth napkins, was told there were none and we were provided with paper towels instead. Despite the strange atmosphere, we were nonetheless pleased with our meals and pleasantly surprised to receive truffles, strawberries and our wine comped as an anniversary gift. Overall, this experience won't keep us from coming back, but I hope that this isn't a trend. Thanks.
The food is decent but expensive, service is slow, they had plastic pallets and brooms in an area visible from my table. And they ran out of napkins (didn’t get their linen order) so all they had was cocktail napkins and paper towels from the bathroom which we found laughable bc couldn't they go to jewel and get some decent napkins? Oh well, it’s a convenient location for us.
This was my first time dining in. The location was awesome, spacious and clean. The server was attentive and helpful with deciding my food options.
Thank you for making today great.
I have referred friends and family. We love it! Thanks a lot and job well done. My server Katelyn was excellent and she has a wonderful personality.
For two consecutive weekends now my family and I have dined at CH for dinner. The service was horrible. We waited nearly 45 mins for our entree. The waiter disappeared to the point that my husband left the table to find help. We had to ask for our eating utensils. The tables surrounding our table were never cleaned. When we arrived at our table it was not clean either; the menus were dirty with left over food/crumbs inside of it - totally disgusting. Overall, this was the worse experience we have ever had a restaurant!
Please have someone to bus your tables. Provide a clean and welcoming environment for your customers. Please get waiters who are engaged, interested and willing to serve the customer. We were never attended to in a manner that even suggested you wanted our business. We never were asked if we wanted another drink or glass of wine.
All in all, we will likely not return to this restaurant again and absolutely cannot in good conscience recommend it to others.
Waitress was slammed. Looked like they were short staff, therefore service was slower than normal
We had dinner on the patio. The ambiance was very nice. Nice foliage to reduce street noise. Server was very good. Food was outstanding.
Food was great overall. Service was not bad but I did not like the fact that a reward on my account was redeemed prior to asking me if I wanted to use it.
Interesting set of appetizers paired with a growing wine selection.
It was really busy so it was slower than usual but our server was nice and the food was good.
Our server was a bit off but the food was great and good drinks
Excellent pairing of food and wine. Highly recommend the Pistachio Crusted Grouper. One note, if you are looking to taste wine before/after meal be prepared for a very long wait. I've had to wait over 40 minutes at this location before giving up. I haven't had that problem at their other locations.
Been 2 many Coopershawk restaurants in several states and I feel that this is one of the best.our server Jose was excellent, very friendly, knowledgeable, humorous, attentive.our meal was prepared very well and the time it took to arrive from the kitchen was prompt even though it was peak time on a Saturday night.
Writing as a member of Cooper’s Hawk, by far the worst Cooper’s Hawk experience. Poor service and food was definitely not up to par. Our server told us all chefs make the food slightly different but the entire experience felt like every staff members couldn’t care less about their job. I will never come back to this location.
We were there celebrating my husband and his twin sister's birthday. Our waitress Nicole was AMAZING. She was very attentived to our needs. Answered all of our questions that were asked. Nicole was always smiling, and we were always asked if we were ok. Food was VERY DELICIOUS!!!! Arrived at our table nice and HOTTTTT!!!!. My husband really loved the long island ice tea. Forgot to mentioned, the young lady at the desk was very polite(wish i had gotten her name), when we entered the restaurant, and seated all of us right away. We will be visiting Cooper's Hawk again. Employees are very friendly.
I am a member of the Cooper Hawk’s Wine Club and I frequent at the restaurant often and enjoy myself. However this experience was spoiled by the lack of customer service from our waitress. My party and I didn’t have silverware at the table, we asked for water and didn’t receive straws. There are cards on the tables that are advertising how Cooper’s Hawk is saying thank you to their members; I had asked to take advantage of the offer by ordering a pitcher of sangria. Our waitress said that there wasn’t any wine left so we wouldn’t be able to order it. Ok, no problem. We order a bottle of the Lux Pinot Noir, chilled. It took us FOREVER to receive the bottle of wine! When I asked the waitress what the hold up she claimed it was being chilled in the back and she would bring it out shortly. Another 15 minutes goes by and then she comes out with the bottle, AND IT’S WARM!! I thought we waited so long for it to chill ... why is it warm? Then I go to the bathroom, come back out and the table sitting right in front of us has a PITCHER OF THE SANGRIA THAT THE WAITRESS TOLD US WAS NOT AVAILABLE! That table was sedated after us and they were already served and had the Sangria that I wanted. I called the next day to speak to a manager because that experience really irked me but I never received a call back. Needless to say I am VERY disappointed about the service at this location.
Very busy and the kitchen was backed up. When we got our food it was just “okay”. We waited forever for our bill and the when it finally came, the server gave us the wrong bill. Nice place although we will not return.
It took us over an hour after we ordered our food to get our food and then when we finally did they messed up all our orders.
Too noisy, not greeted when we approached the tasting room. We also had to wait an hour just for our tasting, and each glass in between was too long of a wait. When it came time to order our waiter passed us a few times, I had to let him know we were ready to order our appetizers wine and again for our meal. I also had to ask for bread. Just overall not the best coopers hawk experience.
Service was very slow as I believe our server got a large party soon after we were seated. Server was very nice, engaging and funny. She just had too much to do. Food was great! I had the healthy serving if the tenderloin and they were perfectly cooked and like buttah!
Always good times and good service. Great to have you nearby.
Everything was wonderful. The waitress was so nice, and efficient. The food is always excellent along with the wines.
Excellent service from wait staff. The food and wine were excellent
Our sever Erin was pretty bad. When we were seated by The Host they suggested we try the sangria I think it was a limonella sangria drink for the night. When we asked our server about the sample we were told that they were out of sangria the White and the red and that it couldn't be made. But noticed after we left that the two bottles we took with us were white sangria. So I guess basically she lied to us not sure why but that was the outcome.
We waited over an hour for our food. It was crowded on a Friday evening but the surrounding tables all ordered, ate and left before our food was served. The manager noticed the wait and provided free dessert, which was a nice offer, but I would have preferred the food arrive on time and the correct temperature (my halibut was luke warm). We won’t return.
The service was exceptional, loved our waitress. Food was well timed and delicious.
Great lunchtime fare but already out of the August special of white sangria which I was anxious to try. Settled for a great Torrontes.
