Our reservation was for 7:15. The restaurant was extremely busy because of large parties so we waited longer than usual to get our food. Also, the group in the booth in front of us was loud making it hard for us to hear each other talking. I usually dine here earlier or on weekdays which is more suitable for us. The food we ordered was hot and delicious though so we ate the appetizers, tasted a bit of our entrees and we decided to take them home and eat it the next day because it got so late. Next time I will stick to an earlier time, no later than 6 pm.

Waited 20 minutes for order to be taken. Felt rushed by the waitress. She seemed annoyed when she brought the bill and I asked her to run my membership card. Just not the best experience from Coopers, which is disappointing.

Ashley A was our server and she was nice but did forget our sauces and side scallops. The new surf and turf was delicious and we enjoyed the crunchy shrimp appetizer feature. Kara the manager ran out our appetizers but she was extremely rude and unprofessional on a prior visit so we weren’t thrilled to see her again. Overall the food was great and service was good.

FAQs

Yes, you can and should call ahead. Guests commonly request booth seating, patio tables, birthday notes and wine‑club accommodations; staff sometimes honor these requests but experiences vary, so confirm by phone. If you’re a wine-club member, mention that in advance for bottle pickup or tasting preferences. For large parties or accessibility needs call the restaurant directly to ensure they can accommodate you.

For a quieter visit, aim for weekday lunch or Sunday mornings/brunch, guests mention Sunday mornings and midweek being calmer. If you want the lively tasting-bar energy, visit Friday/Saturday evenings when the tasting area and bar are busiest. Arrive early for busy holiday or weekend nights, and expect possible waits even with reservations during peak times.

Busiest: Friday and Saturday evenings, holiday nights and tasting-bar hours, guests consistently report loud, crowded scenes then. Quietest: weekday lunches and Sunday mornings/brunch tend to be calmer; several guests say brunch is a quieter, more relaxed experience. If you prefer low noise and faster service, choose off‑peak times.

For a more relaxed visit, choose Sunday morning/brunch or a weekday lunch, guests report these times are quieter and service tends to be smoother. If you want the vibrant wine‑tasting scene and busy bar energy, visit Friday or Saturday evening, but expect crowds and possible waits.

The atmosphere is energetic and wine-focused, polished-casual with a lively tasting bar. Guests often praise the warm hospitality, wine-centric vibe and bustling bar, but many also report that the Oak Lawn location can be loud and crowded, especially near the tasting counter and on weekend nights. For a quieter, more intimate feel try brunch, early weekday dinners, or request patio/semi-private seating.

Casual dress is appropriate. The restaurant describes its dress code as casual, and guests commonly dine in smart-casual or relaxed attire. Dress comfortably for an approachable, wine-country dining experience.

Yes, families do dine here and the menu includes kids and brunch items. Guests report celebrating birthdays with children and bringing toddlers, though the Oak Lawn spot can be loud and busy at times. If you’re visiting with young kids, consider an early seating, patio or a quieter area and call ahead to request kid‑friendly seating or high chairs.

Yes, Cooper’s Hawk Oak Lawn can be a great date-night spot, especially if you enjoy wine and a lively atmosphere. Guests frequently praise the food, wine flights/sangrias and attentive servers that make celebrations special. Note that the Oak Lawn location can get busy and noisy at peak dinner times; for a quieter, more romantic experience try an early weekday dinner, Sunday brunch, or request patio/semi-private seating when you call. The restaurant’s wine-focused menu and cocktail list add a nice, date-night touch.

You’ll find a mix of dining-room tables, booths, a busy tasting/bar area and an outdoor patio. Guests also describe being seated in a separate room for larger parties on occasion. Because the Oak Lawn location’s tasting counter and bar get crowded, call ahead to request booth, patio or quieter table placement and note any special seating needs when you make your reservation.

Yes, families and multi-generational guests dine here regularly, and the menu includes kids and brunch options. Guests report being seated with strollers and older relatives; staff have accommodated high-chair and booth requests. That said, some guests note the Oak Lawn location can be noisy and seating assignments (booth vs. table, patio vs. bar) aren’t always ideal, so call ahead to request a specific spot if accessibility or a quieter table is important.

Yes, Cooper’s Hawk is a multi‑location brand with many restaurants and winery tasting rooms. Guests frequently reference other nearby locations (Orland Park, Burr Ridge, Schererville, etc.) and the restaurant promotes one of the world’s largest wine clubs across its locations.

Yes, guests report holiday service (examples include Thanksgiving and Mother’s Day specials), so the Oak Lawn location does operate on major holidays and sometimes offers special menus. Because holiday hours and menus vary, call ahead or check the restaurant’s website for holiday-specific hours and reservations.

Yes, guests mention patio seating and the restaurant offers outdoor/patio tables. Several reviews note being seated on the patio (sometimes requested), and guests recommend patio seating for a slightly quieter or more comfortable experience when available. Call ahead to request patio seating, especially on busy weekend days.
