Continental Deli Bar and Bistro
Continental is the realised passion for a neighbourhood deli. Bring your basket to purchase your specialty deli essentials, be it charcuterie for your next days sandwich, fromage for a friend, or all the elements for a perfect picnic. We have sourced what we consider the most interesting, rare and delicious cheeses and charcuterie as well as an impressive range of tinned delicacies; anchovies from the Bay of Biscay, clams and cockles from Galicia, sardines from France. We are however most proud of the items we have canned ourselves from incredible local produce.
Really great place with food that’s different enough to make the trip for. Great staff as well
Very enjoyable neighborhood restaurant. Lovely friendly relaxed service. Great bar. Terrific venue!
FANTASTIC place for an date, I really enjoyed the ambience and the wine, lovely, I will BE back
Consistently one of the better restaurants in Sydney. I've been her 5-6 times and never had anything but a great experience.
Absolutely amazing dining experience. Excellent service and a stunning menu!
Enjoyed the food and the ‘Mar-Tinny’ was a great novelty!
The staff were amazing so friendly. My brother accidently spilt two drinks and they were replaced free of charge. Food was incredible, simple dishes with amazing flavours. The atmosphere is intimate and classy. The unique can fish and cocktails are an interesting draw card to try this restaurant
Great food, atmosphere and the staff were amazing.
Loved the tinned fish and the charcuterie! Services was outstanding without being intrusive. Not great for kids but really fun for adults. Highly recommend this place.
Attention and friendly staff. The beef tartare and the octopus was amazing!
Booked a table upstairs and disappointed to see other bookings seated before us. Then, we were seated at a group table (that would have suited one of the bigger groups at the restaurant) that gave no privacy for conversation. However we asked to be moved and the waitress did so once a table became available. Food and wine was delicious. Great bistro type menu and setting. We’ve been before and would definitely go back.
I have been to the continental deli bar bistro on many occasions and the food, beverage and service is always first class
I always get the meat and cheese platter as they really have a good selection. This time I tried the lamb as well, which was perfectly cooked. Please bring back the spatchcock Continental Deli - we miss it so much!
Wonderful experience!! The food absolutely delicious, groovy atmosphere and flawless service. A new personal fave 💛
Have always loved this place and once again it did not disappoint!
Great dining room. Great food. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Fantastic experience.
Great food, really slow service... we weren't cool enough for the waitstaff - very Sydney in that sense.
Can't go wrong with cheese, meats and razorclams! The service was outstanding and the waitress and kitchen went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and create a little dish for our 1 year old to enjoy. Superb. Thanks
The wait staff were very friendly and helpful. We can’t wait to go back
We had a great lunch which I organised for my mother’s birthday. The staff were friendly and informative, the vibe was lively and the food delicious. I would highly recommend.
Mixed feelings unfortunately. The food was tasty but unfortunately 2 of 3 hot dishes arrived lukewarm. When queried, the waiter said she’d check with the kitchen. No apology or offer of another plate, nor any follow up afterwards. Food was tasty despite the above. Ordered a glass of wine which was then poured at our table with no confirmation of which wine was being poured, nor any information on the wine origin etc. We were seated upstairs in the bistro but when we walked through the bar section upon leaving the restaurant, we wished we had sat downstairs as the vibe was competent different and seemed much more fun!
A delicious deli menu, charming waitstaff, lovely upstairs dining area. good wine list.
Service however was slow - started off fine, but dragged later. At one point we waited more than half an hour for a dish.
Sensational wine list. Superb service. Shout out to the magnificent Gabby who is a standout on the floor.
Great dinner with my partner. We got the tasting menu for $65 a head and chose a nice bottle of wine that was good value for money. The food was so good. They even accommodated the dessert to be diabetic friendly by giving my cheese instead. Fantastic meal. Definitely coming back.
We enjoyed the meals, cosy and awesome service. We were advised that the plates are meant for sharing, which i thought meant a pretty good size portion. unfortunately it was smaller than expected. It didn't help that our group didn't want to share, which made it pretty difficult since the dish didn't come out altogether. The dishes were lovely, I had the daily specials- grilled sardines and shared the pork sausage with the group. The mash potatoes was really creamy and rich - very tasty but thinking that if this is a shared dish, perhaps it's best served separately on a side bowl rather than it laid on the plate. Overall taste was awesome, just need work on the plating if it's for sharing....
Overall a great place with a unique "deli-inspired" offering. Food was great and very high value (though a bit salty - it is a deli after all I suppose). Atmosphere was exciting and nice without feeling contrived. Service was attentive and exceptionally friendly. The bar forgot a drink and the kitchen missed a dish we had ordered but staff worked hard to accommodate and make up for it.
I think the in-house canned cocktails were very cute, but afterwards felt the use of cans was a bit wasteful.
Overall exceptional value, great food, and an awesome experience. This will go in our rotation for sure.
Staff were exceptional with their knowledge and professionalism with a friendly manner and they went out of their way to make you feel welcome. Food was tasty. Risotto was my favourite.
Everything done at its best. Food, Wine and Service on point.
Food and cocktails are unreal, definite must to check out if in the area. If not it's worth the trip, booked in the morning and got an 8pm seat. Waitresses were friendly and quite helpful, all round it was a fantastic experience and would recommend to any and every one
Not impressed. It's a fairly hollow dining room (unlike the vibe down in the bar) and the food wasn't impressive. Carrot dish - carrots were overcooked; risotto - tasteless and white (no broccoli in the broccoli risotto??); salad very overdressed with vinaigrette. Wine was pretty average. Most outrageous part of the evening though was to order coffee with dessert. "Sorry, we don't do coffee". What..??!! We were told we could go up to King St cafes for coffee. Seemed very odd to run a restaurant but not be able to put a coffee machine in!
Not the experience we had hoped for and wouldn't go back
I went here for a Saturday lunch with my mum and boyfriend. The food, service and atmosphere was truly excellent. Would highly recommend!!
All waitresses were unbelievable. All offering exceptional hospitality and the menu knowledge to back it up. The food was similarly unreal. Absolutely great experience. In particular one lovely woman excelled: My mum asked for the bill just before I went up to pay myself and she returned the bill book with a very nice hand written note to explain that I had paid. Really above and beyond. Thank you so much for it all!
Great restaurant / deli for its food, bar, service and ambience!
We absolutely loved everything about our dinner! The menu was exciting and different than most sydney upscale dinners. Our bartender and waiter was highly knowledgeable and made amazing cocktails. Can't wait to go back again soon!
Food always delicious & exciting! Table service is great, but waited 30 minutes to be seated despite having a booking. Staff member managing incoming customers was quite rude (& has been regularly when we visit).
The food was exquisite, and the wine we had to accompany it was superb. The staff were unobtrusive yet attentive when we wanted them, efficient, warm, incredibly knowledgeable about the produce and the wine, and are clearly foodies themselves.
My only challenge was this: as a hearing impaired person, as the number of diners increased around me (and as their level of wine consumption rose), the noise became close to intolerable and we could not hear ourselves think. As a result, we left perhaps earlier than we might otherwise have done.
Service was good, but overall the degustation meal was overpriced for what it was. Just a so so meal, nothing particularly special.
Meals and drinks took ages to come, over 1 hour for 1 main. Communal table for 2 people wasn’t great as we were sitting side by side rather than opposite which is much better. Prices are through the roof for what you get. Disappointing as I loved it when it was newly opened.
One bonus is the Steak Tartare, delicious meal.
Always a warm welcome by the staff as cocktails are being whipped up, perfect slices of ham being shaved for platters and the rest of the staff so very friendly. Great food, great atmosphere and my favourite local!
Absolutely divine night. The staff were so accomodating and polite, but also knew how to have a laugh with us. The food was delightful as always and the drinks were so much fun. Thanks for having us.
