A 5 star restaurant befitting a first class hotel. The rib eye was a quality steak cooked perfectly, the way we requested. The lamb rump was as tender and tasteful as I have ever had the pleasure of consuming. The roasted eggplant was an unexpected delight. The sides were wonderful complements to the mains. And the hero of the meal: any chef that can make brussel sprouts the star in this constellation of fine food is a magician! The service is attentive and unpretentious.
Amazing experience. James, Andy, Lucy, Annie were absolutely amazing. So friendly, attentive, professional and made our experience of the hightea 5 star experience. Will definitely come back again!!!
Food was delicious and staff were wonderful!
Excellente atmosphere, first ever high tea, booked it for my partner who has a passion for patisery but ended up enjoying it just as much
We were 6 of us for my mother’s bday. The service is very polite. However, Food waiting time was long and basic serving cutlery wasn’t provided until we had to ask twice. Other than that the food and dietary requirements were largely met.
Bottomless Chandon with savoury and sweet high tea options: fantastic setting for girls catch up!
Food on offer was different to the menu shown on the website which was disappointing. The service for a venue of such caliber was incredibly disappointing. It took half an hour for us to receive any service to get another drink.
The Popup concept at the Hyatt is excellent we have been to others there and they are excellent... the setting, staff and food combined works for a very enjoyable outing.
An extremely good find. Particularly for those who enjoy fine dining but definitely in a relaxing atmosphere. The perfect place for a reunion and I will definitely go back to this restaurant in the near future.
We enjoyed our visit.
I. Took. My. Niece. For lunch. CK. Restraunt. Was excellent. Place for. Lunch and. Dinner .The. Choice off food. And. Wine. Are. First. Class.the. Staff. We’re. Very. Proffesional and. Friendly and. I would. Be. Going. Back. Quite. Often. Thank you. Grand. Hyatt. Melbourne. For a. Great. Experience
A bit difficult to find among the maze of restaurants inside the hotel - and interestingly the name wasn’t anywhere visible around the restaurant - staff warm and friendly, wouldn’t mind accommodating any extra request - ordered the veal osso buco - extremely tender, marinated well, though without the bone marrow spoon left clients to doubt if they were meant to consume the marrow or not, but the meat was really melting - even the tendinous parts yielded immediately to the cut. The bed of mashed potatoes it rested on somewhat lacked originality but was of course a safe choice. Portions very generous. Unfortunately didn’t find the desserts too tempting so just ended with a coffee. $48 without service charge - not bad at all
Unfortunately I did not enjoy my meal at Collins Kitchen. I ordered the pan fried Barramundi which was quite dry and was not served with a sauce of any kind. It was very expensive at $50. My husband and I had booked the restaurant not knowing that Ladros had "checked in". We had booked many weeks ago and were staying at the Hyatt for our 22nd wedding anniversary and were hoping for a very special night out. It just wasn't to be.
After arriving about 40mins late due to the Melbourne Marathon, we were told we had plenty of time to eat and enjoy as it was my birthday celebration. About 1hr later we were told the buffet was ending (also the dessert bar). The variety of food wasn't as good as it usually was as it didn't have a variety of vegetables. It was mainly meat. The variety was extremely disappointing as it was my birthday and I was so looking forward to it. $205 for 1 hour was a bit rich for what we got.
Wonderful high tea at the grand Hyatt. We try to high tea monthly and this was by far our favourite.
The service was impeccable. Our waitress was so friendly and attentive. Perfection for a special occasion.
We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at a Christina Re high tea it was superb the food was amazing and the service from Duncan was on point. The best way to spend our afternoon on sat the 8th sept.
Enjoyed our visit to Collins Kitchen, Burn City Smokers pop up. The food was very enjoyable and very good value for money.
Pork ribs were spicy, tender and delish, non of this over sweet sticky trash that gets trucked out as bbq here in auz. Peas and ham broth was superb! Loaded fries also a winner.
Return of the Burn was awesome!
Venue was beautiful, food was amazing! We could order the Pippies everyday of the week, they were so yummy!
Loved that there were plenty of savoury options
For a pop-up restaurant that specializes in meat, it was incredibly disappointing. Meat tasted pre-cooked and reheated. Pork belly dry and rubbery, steak was sent back because it arrived at the table well done instead of medium rare. We also ordered cocktails, but one arrived in a cracked glass. Beautiful restaurant, lovely ambience, shame about the rest.
Great food and excellent friendly service. Would highly recommend.
The wide range of food on offer caters for all tastes. The staff are friendly and helpful. The location and parking are convenient. An overall exceptional experience.
My wife throughly enjoyed it.
Food and service was great! Loved the burger and Brussel sprouts
We were there for high tea and loved it!
Collins Kitchen is a Pop up Burn City smokers for dinner each night for winter ...specialising in smoked bbq meat dishes and lots of other delicious dishes .. We enjoyed
We wanted to try the food at the Burn City Pop-Up while it was still on. It did not disappoint. The staff were extremely helpful and funny/pleasant to deal with. The food was spot on, we had the platter for two which comes with an assortment of meat and condiments. Delicious! Highly recommend you give it a go before it's gone.
The beef brisket was absolutely fantastic. The service was a bit hit and miss and the drinks quite expensive.
I brought my friend here for her birthday, she loves steak so I thought she would love Collins kitchen. I mentioned on my booking that I would like halal meat, a week later I called the restaurant to double check, they assured me they would order in halal meat specifically for us. When I got there on the day I was informed that the only options we had were chicken and fish. Had we been notified of this earlier I would’ve cancelled my booking and organised something else. My steak loving friend didn’t get steak on her birthday, it was an absolute failure and because of this I don’t think I’ll return.
Halal options aren’t difficult to maintain, it has no effect on the taste of the meat but allows muslims to consume it. I recommend that you move to purchasing halal meat to cater to a wider audience. Or at the very least, don’t promise that it will be there if you can’t deliver.
On top of that, none of the staff really knew what halal was. One guy told us the steak was halal only to be approached seconds later to be told it was not.
Very unprofessional, the food we ordered instead was good but we came specifically for the steak so I’m very dissapointed.
Saw a review for the pop up Burn City Smokers and decided to give it a go. Loved the ambiance of the place, sat in the cocktail bar had a beautiful Amaretto Sour. The food was lovely, the BBQ Beef Rib was mouth watering, we ate a little too much so could not the sample deserts. Would definitely would go back for a Brisket Burger and Chips. It also caters for vego's.
Awesome burn city rocks, food was next level....... highly recommended!
We shared our 25th Anniversary dinner here and could not have been happier. The food was delicious and imaginative and the staff were delightful and attentive- especially Natasha.
The atmosphere and ambiance was lovely and the decor very elegant.
I organised dinner here with a couple of girl friends before a show at the Regent and it was fabulous. The food was lovely, the service was attentive, they were very accommodating to my friends dietary requirements and proving recommendations to menu options so we would miss our theatre date.
The service is really very good. Food is delicious. And I love the environment.
We really enjoyed our Sunday lunch. There were great food choices and the flavours were spot on , especially the lamb cutlets. The dessert section was abit too sweet , missed the truffles and the Turkish delights that the use to have. Looking forward to our next Sunday brunch.
Great food, lovely wine too but it took an absolute age to pay the bill.
The usual high quality food and cuts one comes to expect from the Hyatt Kitchen.
There is sufficient variety on the menu without overloading the palette and the meals are well presented and the cooking and condiment is of an excellent selection.
Good service. Food isn't great. Cold banh mi and scones. The savory buffet is unforgettable. The desserts are sadly not delicious.
Took my aunt to her first ever High tea and was not disappointed. From the greeting and seating at the start, through to the end of our time it was a lovely afternoon. The table setting was the gorgeous Cristina Re range and so nicely presented. Our party of three had a window seat which added to the setting. The process for the day was explained clearly and then the canapés arrived. All three courses had many choices to cater for all.
