Cobb & Co. New Plymouth
A place of adventure and excitement at the base of the beautiful Mt Taranaki, spend quality time with loved ones over a delicious meal at our New Plymouth Cobb & Co. restaurant.
COME IN AND ENJOY THE KIWI EXPERIENCE THAT IS COBB & CO.
Others underestimate this place, it’s one of our fave eating places. The kids menus are great and I swear they do the best steaks in town
The chef under cooked my lamb twice by which time my husband had already eaten his meal and I was starving so I just ate the vegetables and asked the wait staff if I could just take the lamb home and cook it my self, sadly the chef didn't even put any of the yummy gravy with it in my take hm container so thanks, luckily the wait staff and the manager were lovely and I hope the chef is different when I return next time.
Loved our evening- the host that met us at the door and served us at the table was amazing- made our night! Will return in future. Thank you!
We both enjoy the variation in menu selection, and the Gold card discounts are worthwhile to us.
The same videos are played over and over all from the 50's and 60's getting a bit monotouse as there are other videos that would lessen the poor quality and boring content. Try streaming some videos of music from the web to create a variation. The service and knowledge of the menu is always appreciated from your staff. Love the cobb loaf always fresh and hot...
Wonderful food. Great service. Just listen more carefully to our orders, you got 3 things wrong.
Our meal and service was lovely thankyou and as we were he only ones inhouse at the time was nice and quiet thankyou
Food didn't have much flavour and the steak was though. Needs to be upgraded as it is very old looking staff were good
Great meal and service. Our children really enjoyed there meals and the play area kept them entertained during the night.
My family and I had a delicious meal out on Saturday night. The menu at Cobb &Co was really good, lots of variety, perfect for the five very different children we took along with us. My daughter also is coeliac so finding a gluten free meal she wanted to eat was such a bonus, and she LOVED her meal! Definitely looking forward to our next visit to Cobb & Co!
The food was excellent the service was also excellent. The atmosphere was very pleasant. The seating could have been better however we were given the opportinity to move I declined. I will definitely go back again and recommend to others
Can't find anything wrong with our visit to Cobb and Co. It's great to see this outfit still prospering with so much competition. My almost 97 year old mother absolutely loved it as she often went there in her younger days when it was at the State Hotel site.
Good food and good service. My Lambs Fry was top notch.
Children’s meals were fine but adult meals were terrible value for money. Coconut chicken was a chicken breast on white rice with sauce and a sprinkle of coleslaw. My daughter (who does not have ice cream or cream) ordered a brownie dessert and was given two tiny pieces of brownie. I can’t to Cobb & Co because my children like it but it was an expensive night for very average food. I will not be coming back.
We. Booked for a table for 4. One was a Birthday dinner. 3 received their main meal. 1 (the Birthday person) was informed their meal had been given to another diner so would have to wait another 5 minutes for her meal to be served.
Great meal for kids birthday party. Quick service. Good food and value for money.
Amazing experience, great food, polite staff, definitely going back. thanks again Cobb n Co for the great experience.
Found the food to be extremely poor. My husband and I ordered a lamb shank and it was pretty much in edible. It was so tough, I could hardly cut it off the bone and the mashed potato was cold. The sauce on the shank tasted like it had a half a cup of sugar in it. I would have sent it back but was out with extended family who were treating so didn't want to cause a scene. It was the worst food I have ever eaten at a restaurant if I'm honest and it was $38. To be fair my father in law's steak looked okay and he enjoyed it. My sons burger had barbecue sauce on it so he wouldn't eat it. Also we were not given kids menus even though we had 3 kids at our table. Overall a pretty bad experience which is a shame as I have fond memories of going to Cobb & Co as a kid.
Such fantastic high quality service! Much better than anywhere else we have been recently. Staff really made it a great experience for us.
We felt so welcome. Great atmosphere.
Loved the food.
Most definitely will be back.
Pleasant and reliable family dining, always a good night out if you are looking for a mid-level bistro type experience. Food is hot, tasty and lots of it. Kids are well catered for. The menu is a mix of old favourites and new choices which change fairly regularly.
Food was very over priced, margherita came out warm. The burger party tasted like the frozen ones you get from countdown. Very noisy and loud. Disappointed we weren't offered water and it took several tries to flag someone down to get some.... I wouldn't come back
Very nice meals we had ,staff were friendly and most accommodating, top night out
My cobb schnitzel was burnt so i sent it back and the new one was just about as bad and the cheese in that one was only just warm. The booths all need the leather replacing. It is badly deteriorated and had horrible material trying to hide it on one seat.
The food was over priced and didn't taste very nice. My chicken was overcooked and the coconut sauce had no flavours. It tasted as though it was just coconut cream from a can. My husband's pork ribs were sickly. The flavour of the sauce was not very nice.
We did not enjoy the fish but the steak and ribs was delicious. The portion of chips is just right. The waiters were friendly and helpful. I was impressed when they phoned me back when they noticed that they had a missed call from me and they confirmed my online booking for me.
OUR WAITRESS THAT WE HAD IS OUTSTANDING AT HER JOB WOULD GO AGAIN FOR HER SERVICE :)
The whole dining experience can only be described as a total disaster. It started with the seating. The benches were covered with a dirty blanket to hide the completely torn plastic cover, showing foam disintegrating rubber across both benches. The main dish, fish , was burnt, the chips were uncooked and the salad didn’t have any dressing. The other main course had to be replaced because it was Not what we ordered. All in all a very unpleasant and disappointing experience.
The food was good but a lot more expensive than I remember Cobb & Co to be! The restaurant was really cold.
What made our evening exceptional though, was the service. We had an amazing waitress, she even came and asked if she could take a photo of us all.
We first went to Cobb 36yrs ago on our honeymoon so we had a fair idea what to expect we enjoyed it we will do it again
Hadn’t been for years heard mixed reviews, it was ok, but the food quality lacking, my fettuccini was lacking the extra creamy sauce, husbands and kids chips were only half cooked, mother’s roast vegetables she could hardly cut through however Buffalo wings were outstanding! Child area was great to keep kids amused while waiting.
For a busy night the service was very good.
Staff fast tracked our order ahead of a large group.
Meals were fine and value for money.
Its not 5 star dining but for a wholesome value meal out it ticked all the boxes
Nice welcoming staff. Meals were really nice. Reasonably priced. We took our two mothers and it is a great place for them.
My daughter chose where she wanted to go for dinner.
Good overall service.
It was my daughters 10th birthday - would be nice if they said “Happy birthday”!
I’d joined the club and she got a free meal but they said nothing 😩
Otherwise she enjoyed and meal was nice.
Quick out of the kitchen
Food was disgusting! Fish rubbery and dry! Waitress called my 91 year old mother and myself “you guys”. Will never go back there!
Always amazing food and reasonably priced. One of our favourite places to eat.
Amazing service with a smile. Our Australian whanau loved it. thanks!
Our cheesy garlic bread arrived, sliced 1st slice, took a bite then the waiter turned up with our mains. Talk about FAST. Warmish day, sweated through out whole meal.
It is a great astomphere and awesome service and food.
All the staff including the waitress were very friendly and professional. The food was well prepared
and presented. My wife and I enjoyed our meal.We always enjoy going to Cobb &Co, although not
as often as we would like due to our financial constraints.
The restaurant was tired no ambiance, did not have the atmosphere we have experienced in taupo or Tauranga
We go once every year when the BDO cycle race is on and the experience is always the same, GREAT.
