Cobb & Co. New Plymouth
A place of adventure and excitement at the base of the beautiful Mt Taranaki, spend quality time with loved ones over a delicious meal at our New Plymouth Cobb & Co. restaurant.
COME IN AND ENJOY THE KIWI EXPERIENCE THAT IS COBB & CO.
A very hot night and staff were showing signs of being tired, like us. Timing was a little out on serving between courses but no great drama. We were a family group and they catered well for the varying ages.
A last minute dessert order was no problem.
We enquired about their fish tank they were very obliging about explaining to us how they were looked after.
We will be going back.
Booked for 6.30 we were told take a seat and we will get back to you, along with another group of 5. After half an hour i queried when were we getting seated, they cleaned a table for us inside and were seated 5 mins later. Ordered and shrimp cocktails came out quickly and were nice, how could u mess up them. The roast of the day finally arrived. Was undercooked and luke warm felt like it had been in a bain marie for hours. Had place to go so we ate what we could n left
NEVER TO RETURN. Sheryl 👎
Great customer service even though it was extremely busy evening for the staff .Our waiting time between courses was really good .Friendly lovely staff
Unfortunately not a great experience. Food very underwhelming for the price. Would not return
The mash of potato that came with the scotch filet was cold, and tasteless and much too watery
I tried to book for 5 people online, but the app indicated there was not an available table for 5.30. . I phoned and left a message, but did not get a reply. I booked for 3 of us at the time the app suggested was available at 4:45. Bit early for us but I really wanted to take the kids. Arrived to a virtually empty restaurant, and the other 2 people in our group popped in on the off chance of getting a table. The meal was fine, dessert very nice. Kids were hoping the screens would play movies, but after asking three times for them to be turned on they were disappointed with what options there were.
My concern is that the app suggested there were few tables available, and if someone had called me back I would have booked a later table for all of us. Lucky If the restaurant was half full by 6 pm. We nearly ate elsewhere, so potential loss of business from using the app. Staff were very nice and service was prompt
Made reservation online - stress free & no waiting on arrival
Great background music
Best Cobb & Co I’ve been to in ages. Food was good, service great & kids loved it. Prices good & loved the 80s music videos!😎
Really yummy food. I would like to suggest making a Keto friendly menu for those who are on the keto diet, low carbs and very low to no sugar.
The food was nice but of our table of 6, 3 people's orders were wrong and we had to ask for the correct things. The young waiter seemed not to know the menu well and ordered the wrong things for us. Thankfully more experienced staff were able to correct it and we did receive a discount for all the problems.
Wait staff are lovely and done really good job. brought kids meals out first. Lovely meals
Great place, awesome staff and magnificent food.
We will be coming back soon.
Service wasnt as good as normal communication with meals was poor also had to wait and then ask for children's menus
We enjoyed our meal the environment was a bit tired but the restaurant was child friendly
The menu was varied but had the old favourites
For a family meal the price was slightly higher than I expected but we will return as we all enjoyed our meals
So overpriced. The food was ok but not worth the exorbitant prices - even the drinks were ridiculously priced. Wouldn’t be returning anytime soon.
Surprisingly great! Hadn't been to a Cobb & Co since I was young. Everything was cooked well and full of flavour . Staff were friendly & efficient.
Others underestimate this place, it’s one of our fave eating places. The kids menus are great and I swear they do the best steaks in town
Great food, awesome old style Cobb & Co. Prompt service, good throwback music to suit all, plenty of options on the menu. Only one downfall, very, very warm in there, perhaps not enough AC or that we sat beside the window where it was quite hot. Ample parking too!
The chef under cooked my lamb twice by which time my husband had already eaten his meal and I was starving so I just ate the vegetables and asked the wait staff if I could just take the lamb home and cook it my self, sadly the chef didn't even put any of the yummy gravy with it in my take hm container so thanks, luckily the wait staff and the manager were lovely and I hope the chef is different when I return next time.
Loved our evening- the host that met us at the door and served us at the table was amazing- made our night! Will return in future. Thank you!
We both enjoy the variation in menu selection, and the Gold card discounts are worthwhile to us.
The same videos are played over and over all from the 50's and 60's getting a bit monotouse as there are other videos that would lessen the poor quality and boring content. Try streaming some videos of music from the web to create a variation. The service and knowledge of the menu is always appreciated from your staff. Love the cobb loaf always fresh and hot...
Wonderful food. Great service. Just listen more carefully to our orders, you got 3 things wrong.
Our meal and service was lovely thankyou and as we were he only ones inhouse at the time was nice and quiet thankyou
Food didn't have much flavour and the steak was though. Needs to be upgraded as it is very old looking staff were good
Great meal and service. Our children really enjoyed there meals and the play area kept them entertained during the night.
My family and I had a delicious meal out on Saturday night. The menu at Cobb &Co was really good, lots of variety, perfect for the five very different children we took along with us. My daughter also is coeliac so finding a gluten free meal she wanted to eat was such a bonus, and she LOVED her meal! Definitely looking forward to our next visit to Cobb & Co!
The food was excellent the service was also excellent. The atmosphere was very pleasant. The seating could have been better however we were given the opportinity to move I declined. I will definitely go back again and recommend to others
Can't find anything wrong with our visit to Cobb and Co. It's great to see this outfit still prospering with so much competition. My almost 97 year old mother absolutely loved it as she often went there in her younger days when it was at the State Hotel site.
Good food and good service. My Lambs Fry was top notch.
Children’s meals were fine but adult meals were terrible value for money. Coconut chicken was a chicken breast on white rice with sauce and a sprinkle of coleslaw. My daughter (who does not have ice cream or cream) ordered a brownie dessert and was given two tiny pieces of brownie. I can’t to Cobb & Co because my children like it but it was an expensive night for very average food. I will not be coming back.
We. Booked for a table for 4. One was a Birthday dinner. 3 received their main meal. 1 (the Birthday person) was informed their meal had been given to another diner so would have to wait another 5 minutes for her meal to be served.
Great meal for kids birthday party. Quick service. Good food and value for money.
Amazing experience, great food, polite staff, definitely going back. thanks again Cobb n Co for the great experience.
Found the food to be extremely poor. My husband and I ordered a lamb shank and it was pretty much in edible. It was so tough, I could hardly cut it off the bone and the mashed potato was cold. The sauce on the shank tasted like it had a half a cup of sugar in it. I would have sent it back but was out with extended family who were treating so didn't want to cause a scene. It was the worst food I have ever eaten at a restaurant if I'm honest and it was $38. To be fair my father in law's steak looked okay and he enjoyed it. My sons burger had barbecue sauce on it so he wouldn't eat it. Also we were not given kids menus even though we had 3 kids at our table. Overall a pretty bad experience which is a shame as I have fond memories of going to Cobb & Co as a kid.
Such fantastic high quality service! Much better than anywhere else we have been recently. Staff really made it a great experience for us.
We felt so welcome. Great atmosphere.
Loved the food.
Most definitely will be back.
Pleasant and reliable family dining, always a good night out if you are looking for a mid-level bistro type experience. Food is hot, tasty and lots of it. Kids are well catered for. The menu is a mix of old favourites and new choices which change fairly regularly.
Food was very over priced, margherita came out warm. The burger party tasted like the frozen ones you get from countdown. Very noisy and loud. Disappointed we weren't offered water and it took several tries to flag someone down to get some.... I wouldn't come back
Very nice meals we had ,staff were friendly and most accommodating, top night out
My cobb schnitzel was burnt so i sent it back and the new one was just about as bad and the cheese in that one was only just warm. The booths all need the leather replacing. It is badly deteriorated and had horrible material trying to hide it on one seat.
The food was over priced and didn't taste very nice. My chicken was overcooked and the coconut sauce had no flavours. It tasted as though it was just coconut cream from a can. My husband's pork ribs were sickly. The flavour of the sauce was not very nice.
We did not enjoy the fish but the steak and ribs was delicious. The portion of chips is just right. The waiters were friendly and helpful. I was impressed when they phoned me back when they noticed that they had a missed call from me and they confirmed my online booking for me.
