We liked that the restaurant is peanut free as have girl with allergy. Server was great. We do question the computer games that were avaliable as all children have access and there were some games we felt not fit for younger children. Some games had a teen rating. This was a bit of a dark spot on an other wise good evening.
Would recommend for service and food but have said not as I have concerns around the games.
Food took ages to come out and when it did it was cold and over cooked
Second time in a row we have been disappointed and don’t know if we will go back. Our waitress didn’t get our order right even when taking it. When it came out was no surprise it was wrong. Meals came out at very different times and the. Our kids -5 of them all got a very late dessert, when it came out it was clear they had been sitting there for a while as the kids used straws to suck up their ice cream it was so melted. Order was wrong when paying. Overall was a shocking experience
Absolutely great customer service, all the staff was exceptionally friendly, efficient and very helpful. Great food and great experience.
We received a warm and friendly welcome service was outstanding very little waiting time even though the restaurant was quite busy
Warm and friendly cashier
Loved the meal yummy
Probably wouldn't go back to be honest. The food was average and basic. Very standard. Bit disappointing as we had come from Invercargill and saw the good reviews, but we were let down. Mashed potatoes had lumps all through them and were dry. Meat was dry but doused in the gravy made it ok. Partners pork belly crackling wasn't crackled, boo! Children (6yrs and 11yrs) found play area boring so stayed at our table the whole time... double boo haha! They had fortnight but no chance of getting a turn with all the other kids hanging around. Two kids meals, one adults meal (my partner got his meal for free for his bday) and 4 drinks cost $92.70 which I thought was grossly overpriced considering one meal was free! Nothing outstanding and were definitely areas where improvements could be made.
Family of 7, 4 adults 2 children and 1 toddler.🙂
Warmly welcomed apon arrival by staff members,
First impressions were great we were placed right beside the play area, which is amazing...I asked to move tables as we had little kids and they had given us a table that was high off the ground and needed stools to sit at it, staff were reluctant at first and not because it was busy either....but after I was quite clear that it was a safety issue for the kids we got moved...( still beside the play area) 🙂🙂
Orders were taken , but entree came out with no side plates and on the menu there was no description of what a cobb loaf was maybe my expectations were to high, but I definitely wasnt expecting hot bread and a small thing of butter, we ordered 2...but it should be called bread and butter not disguised as something which is unique to cobb & co...🙄🙄
Kids meals were really plain and small, chesse burger and chips , I dont even think they got more than 6 chips in there box each and burgers were smaller than mcds ones, so that and an ice cream for $15 🤔, Mains had mixed reactions, the ribs, burger and fries and I had the lamb were all really good ,especially the ribs👍 When you ask for pork belly, I'm sure everyone would expect a nice piece of belly falling apart and with the crackling, this was an epic fail, 👎and did not look appealing at all let alone it looked like it had'nt been put any where near an oven, I even went as far as telling my teenage daughter not to finish eating it
Overall I am glad we tryed Cobb&Co but probably wont be back,
The last place we went out to tea at was the Loanstar,
If I was to compare the 2, even though they are very busy and it's loud. There prices are very similar, the kids, meals are cheaper, you get better quality food and more of it , and the staff are absolutely amazing, I requested a table change here too, on a very busy night , and they made it happen even though the table was reserved.🤗
Sorry but alot to work towards
Entree great, mains very average to poor. Did not enjoy.
Expensive, below standard food. Would almost say the schnitzel was microwaved and meal size was pathetic for the price. Only positive was the kids meal.
Great restaurant just expensive. Could only afford a burger
It has been some 12 months since I last visited a Cobb and Co. Our visit on the 22nd Feb was a shock when I saw the menu prices !! horrible - $7.90 for two pieces of garlic bread - This Cobb and co is our closest in the South Island.
The surroundings in the railway station are perfect - a bit noisy - the garlic bread and chips tasted great - the rest of the meal small and expensive.
The Waitress "Gemma" was a delight and deserves waitress of the year.
We had a four person table next to use whom we exchanged comments with when two tables down a young man got down on his knee and asked his partner to marry him - a delight for all of us - we were celebrating our 34th Wedding anniversary that night and it was a nice touch to be part of - somewhat ambiguously - to see a new couple start their life together
The server's were really great, they even sang happy birthday to my great grand son who turned 9. Food was good, and would go back again.
very average food for the price, better elsewhere, ribs very sweet tiny portion of chips and ribs for 37
A wonderful night of dining - thank you. We appreciated our table being ready and the servicde offered.
We had wonderful delicious meals on our way to a concert. Very obliging staff and wonderful atmosphere!
Great setting and friendly staff. Good selection of food to choose from and the Cobb loaf is to die for. We were there on a very busy night but still received great service.
Took over an hour to get food and we had only ordered starters. It was a very busy evening as there was a concert on but that’s way too long to wait for food.
Very nice meal. Lemon tart for dessert is to die for.
Everything was great as usual !!
We just love coming here when in dunedin food/service and ambiance is awesome thanks team see you next time😉
I had the chicken Alexander and it was a nice meal
We all had a very pleasant evening - the food was top notch, and the waiter, Charlie, was super nice, & made our dining experience so much more enjoyable.
We really enjoyed our dinner out on thursday night. The food was really delicious and the service was great. Very good value for money too!
We went at 5:00pm for Dad’s birthday and it was perfect. The kids are absolutely over the moon about the food and we are over the moon about the service and the ease of bringing small kids out to eat. It is a special treat for us to go out and Cobb and Co made it a really fun evening.
Very disappointed. Starter came our in good time then had a very long wait for our mains. The restaurant was steady but not what I would call busy. A waitress came to apologize for the long wait about half an hour after our starter and brought some potatoe crisps to nibble on. Further 25 mins before the main arrived. These were very average, mine the stuffed schnitzel barely cooked and tough. Not an experience we'll be repeating if we can help it.
We have been 3 times before and been happy felt the standard of the meals has dropped alot it seemed far mor expensive to .
May not bother again
Great for kids, good value, easy parking and meals always good🙂
Found the stand of food was not as good. Some over cooked.
Always friendly welcome. Know what wine we have and get it ready. Such lovely staff.
The staff at this resturant were absolutely lovely and made our experience a very relaxed and happy one. Thank you to you all.
Food was very average with salad and mash potatoes very wilted and dry - looked like it had been sitting out for quite some time... Food service was pretty slow considering how quiet the restaurant was. Certainly not on par re high standard of service or food quality compared to some of the other Cobb & Cos around the country.
Great place to take the kids for dinner. They love the playroom! Lovely friendly service from all wait staff. Enjoyed our meals. Only thing is can end up spending quite a bit of money, with 4 kids all wanting the traffic light drinks, can easily spend about $22 per kid which I think is expensive for 5-11 year olds.
Took my wife here for her Birthday and had a great meal. The staff were very friendly.
The kids food was fine - it’s hard to stuff up fried stuff. Adults food was average at best and my haloumi roast vegetable salad with 3 bits of haloumi and mostly roast potato for $25 was a huge letdown and waste of money. Would not rush back - $280 for 3 adults and 5 kids was a hefty price tag for really average food.
Great service, awesome food. If we ever get back to NZ, Dunedin, we'll definitely come back.
Amazing how it is exciting for kids, I was very impressed. The only downside for me personally is no port or sherry. I know not everyone drinks those, but they are an outing treat for this old duck.
Lovely service. The fish was fresh and well flavoured. Everything was perfectly cooked.
We had a great time . We all enjoyed it. Great staff, which didn't bother you every 5 minuts as some other places do. Food was delicious and did not take too long to come out. Will definitely be back.
I enjoy going to your restaurant. Every time I come to Dunedin I take my family there.
Our waiter/barman was excellent. A really helpful guy.
The place was quite cold, though. A couple of open windows didn't help, but the waiter apologised and explained that they were waiting for a repair-person to come & fix them.
He suggested another table, away from the windows, which we moved to, nearer the nice fire.
The menu is pretty good, with the Cobb loaf being a family favourite.
We all enjoyed the dishes we chose.
