Claim Jumper - Village of Hoffman Estates
Service was poor. While we were seated immediately upon arrival and our orders were taken and delivered promptly, our server's demeanor and service was otherwise indifferent. She never asked if we wanted refills on our drinks and never asked if we wanted dessert. Basically, we never saw her after our main courses were served and when she handed us the bill.
My 12oz rib eye and mashed potatoes were edible but no better than something that I might expect to be served in my local greasy spoon. On the other hand, my wife enjoyed the full slab of ribs.
I can't comment upon the interesting selection of desserts, but the server never offered us the opportunity to order dessert before handling us our check.
We had reservations on a busy graduation weekend. Our server was kind, but she put the tray down on the ledge of the booth. Drinks spilled all over me and my father in law. We did get a big discount.
Food was very slow to come out.
Loving the the ambiance. Went there two times, thinking the first time was a fluke. Nope. Wine served 25min after ordered. Service folks nice, but many many mistakes: forgotten appetizers, missing pepporoni in pizza, etc
Food choices very interesting, but quality so average.
I understand it was Mother's Day and expected the restaurant to be busy. While it was busy, it was not booked as there were open tables. Once the waitress took the order, we never saw her again until the check. We never had our drinks refilled. We were there 2 hours as only 4 of our 5 entrees were served. The final entre we had to take to go as the Blackened Chicken Baked Potato was not ready (Cooked). it took an hour for someone to tell us the Baked Potatoes was an issue as well as 30 minutes AFTER the other food was served to our table! Even then, the hostess came and informed us of the delay, not our waitress or a manager. While the missing Entre was removed from the bill, we were still upset that we were not given the opportunity to choose something else...BEFORE the other food was served! You cannot tel me that the issue with the uncooked Baked Potatoes was not known earlier? This was our first time dining here and it is a SHAME service was so poor!
Went for mother’s day lunch and it was pretty empty in there at 3:30... we waiting over an hour for our food. We were not pleased but thankfully our server Jessica was very nice. I have a 5 year old who was starving so to have a child who whines for over an hour made things worse especially on Mother’s Day
Restaurant was very crowded on Mother's Day (to be expected). Food took longer than normal. Still very good & would return.
Mother’s Day meal about 3pm. Service was very good. Great food. Mom and Grandma were happy with their food selections. That’s what counted today!! We will be back.
Horrible experience. For Mother’s Day I used the app and made a reservation. When I got here they said they couldn’t find it. Then told me it went into the “overbooking” area and there was no table for us. Usually if a restaurant has no reservations left, none show up at the particular time you try to book.
Not only was it Mother’s Day and I knew it would be busy but they were constantly out of food at the stations.
We were so excited to go to brunch on Mother’s Day. We arrived for our 11:30 reservation and were not seated until 12:05. Our server was very helpful but the buffet was seriously lacking. Almost every chafing dish was empty or had dried up food in it. The desserts were all store bought, unappealing selections. Hostess mini donuts, orange jello, and store bought cookies. So disappointing and not worth the $150 we spent.
I made this reservation a month ahead of time for Mother's Day. They called me about a week before my reservation to tell me that my family would be sat at two different booths. I told them that was not okay to split up my family, and that we had two babies in highchairs that could not be sat at their booths. The woman told me that's what we were getting and there was nothing she could do. When I asked if there was another time she could move us to so they could accomodate us, she told us no because it was too close to the day now and they were fully booked at this point. When I asked why they waited three weeks after I made the reservation to contact me and leave me with no options, she stated it was because I booked through OpenTable. So we had to cancel our reservation and I had to scramble to make other plans a week before Mother's Day because Claim Jumpers treats OpenTable reservations as second-class citizens.
Unfortunately, our Mother's day dinner was not as pleasant as we would have hoped. When we ordered drinks, it took a minimum of 20-25 minutes for the drinks to arrive every time we placed an order. Additionally, one member of our group received a dry, well done steak, when he asked for medium rare. The shrimp that came with the meal were cold and appeared to have been left out for a while before being served.
Our server was wonderful and apologized for the long wait throughout the night.
When the manager came over to check on us and ask how everything was going, she seemed surprised that there were issues with the kitchen and the bar getting the food and drinks out in a timely manner. It seems like there was some miscommunication between the kitchen and management throughout the night, which negatively affected our dining experience.
Lousy service. Disinterested server.
Falling, dropped glass trays more than once
The food is fantastic and the service was great. The lighting was too dark in the booth area we were sitting at, that would be my only complaint
Service was slow; despite reserving a table ahead of time, we still had to wait as if we hadn’t reserved a table. The food was not good, and our waiter seemed new and inexperienced. I should have gone elsewhere.
Great food. A little expensive though.
Very good happy hour menu.... reasonably priced and a good variety. Excellent service also
great food and the best service we have ever had at this location
