asked for something special for mother's birthday. nothing was done, and we had to ask for a candle ourselves.
waiter took down 1 order of duck when we ordered 2. The food came out correctly for 4 out of the 5 members of the family and the 5th member, who ordered the second duck, had to wait 20+ minutes for the duck order that was not placed.
No compensation for the inconvenience whatsoever. knowing that other restaurants make your birthday celebrations memorable by providing a complimentary dessert or a customized menu, i can still understand if it is not in their practice to do same. however, there should have been some gesture of apology for making my family wait for the 5th entree to come out due to the waiter's inability to confirm order. even a complimentary 8 dollar dessert wouldve shown that gesture. There was nothing. will not be returning for birthday celebrations here.
Great Ambiance and made early reservations, anticipating the crowd. Osyters were fresh and if we weren’t too full, would’ve ordered the 3rd plate of scallops.
We've done City Perch for 3 Thanksgivings now with our family. It's a great place to do a lavish Thanksgiving dinner where I (mom) don't have to do a thing and the cleaner (dad) get's a break too. Plus with picky kids who like totally different foods, everyone is just quietly eating.
Thanksgiving food was good but not worth for the money I spent and there was no beverage or coffee included in the buffet price. There could’ve been a little more foods that people could enjoy other than only thanksgiving foods. However, service was good and everyone was very friendly.
Girlfriends of 7 reunion.. night out
We found the food at City Perch to be just mediocre. I had the salmon eggs benedict and the eggs were overcooked and the salmon was tasteless. My family had pretty much the same experience with their chosen brunch. We were also very disappointed that they no longer have their bottomless brunches, where for $10, the momosa or bloody mary were "bottom-less."
Jean Michael and the restaurant’s manager made our visit special as usual. Jean Michael sent our a special dessert to my 10 year old daughter because he heard that she made the honor roll. She was smiling from ear to ear, and that made our day. Food was awesome as usual, but this visit was extra special because of Jean Michael!
The service was great, the burgers were outstanding, wine / drink list impressive. Only complaint, bathrooms were not very clean.
I really like the experience. I was there for lunch on Sunday afternoon at 2:45pm and they told me that I can only order brunch. The menu was too limited for a late afternoon.
Service was slow but food was good
I came here because of Wolfgang where I was never disappointed. For this, Food was tasty but kind of Overpriced. $19 for a glass of Pinot Noir ( they called 1.5 glass but the size of a regular glass). Charged $5 for a small piece of corn bread (and bread too which I did not order). Service was just so so. The waitress was trying to take away our dessert and coffee while we were still eating. They need to train the waiter and waitress better. I could have given a 2 star. But because of Wolfgang I give 3. Will not go back.
I had dinner there few times when the restaurant opened and I was not disappointed with the food. However I had brunch there for my birthday with some friends and the experience was very poor!
2 of us ordered the salmon eggs benedict and instead we got 2 hard boiled eggs on top of the salmon!!?
The 2 others ordered omelettes which were pretty greasy. We send back the eggs benedict, while our 2 other friends were eating their brunch, we were waiting for our new order.
I didn't like my brunch experience at City Perch at all. It was disappointing, especially on my birthday!
Delicious! Staff was lovely and attentive. Wish the brunch menu also offered salads as they do at dinner. Not great choices for someone trying to be mindful and be on a diet. Was really noisy when we first arrived but did improve over time. Also, the coffee was a bit wimpy and not quite hot enough. Refill cup was hotter, but still not robust enough.
Everything was good, food and service. However we went for brunch and they ran out of cream It seems to me someone could have run to a store that was close. I am sure we were not the only people who wished to have cream or half and half in our coffee
I expected a little more but it's worth a try. The polenta and braised rib was sweet, nothing I was expecting and should have been advised. The ricotta pancakes were just ok and the chicken and waffles were under seasoned.
Very good service and food. Noise level can be overbearing. The bread course is excellent, but pricey.
The restaurant is nicely laid out and decorated. The food was excellent. The waitress was kind. The issuuis that it took a LONG time to get the foos
The food looked good but wasn’t as good as expected and the service was slow. Sitting down was quick but when it got to ordering it took quite awhile before the server came over.
The staff was really friendly and the food was delicious. We really loved the bread board! Their flavored whipped butters were so good. We’ll be bringing more friends next time.
Had a great birthday brunch at City Perch in Fort Lee (Part of the iPic movie theater). I had the chicken and waffles and a couple of bellinis. The food was absolutely delicious and I would highly recommend for group events.
It was just ok, really mediocre food, nothing special. Service was fine. Room ok, a bit noisy. We really couldn’t figure out why it was so busy and well reviewed, we were simply underwhelmed.
First time there for dinner. It was good. A different crowd than brunch
Nice place. Great drinks and food (get the duck). Great ambiance- dark, romantic
Great experience as always
Try the chicken and waffles...so good. Waitress recommendation!!
We came for the burgers, and after we settled in and ordered, were told the restaurant had no patties! Explanation was that there was a screw up in the kitchen. We stayed and had a very good pizza and a mediocre Cobb salad.
Wasnt the most amazing experiencing. The bartender must have been new since the drinks were horrible. We had the sangria and the ipic mule. The food was okay. The ambiance itself I would say the decor and space are beautiful.
This was our first time here and were very impressed. Excellent food and ambiance! Service was attentive. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Food is absolutely terrific ! Better than alot of fancier places that charge the same if not more.
The service was terrible. They got our order wrong, did not write it down and got it wrong again. The food was so salty. The staff was not well trained. So many employees standing around doing nothing.
The restaurant was very clean. We went while visiting the NYC area. We ordered the strawberry lemonade punch which was amazing. We also had the cornbread which was to die for - we had 5 slices. The pizza, chicken & burgers were phenomenal. If you’re in the area, it’s a must. We look forward to visiting again!
Took the family for brunch. Superior decor than most brunch places and diners. Most dishes are reasonably priced. The Brunch burger was good, but the Chicken and Waffles was exceptional.
Delicious meal and a gracious, knowledgeable server-she was polite and made menu recommendations without being pushy:-) A perfect meal before our movie! The crab cake and brussel sprout appetizers were great! Herb roasted chicken dish was excellent as well as the chocolate donut and apple crisp desserts! Only complaint was a light was out in the lamp above our table so it made it hard to see my date. But great otherwise!
I ate from here maybe a year ago, it was just okay! I decided to give it another shot and was surprised in how delicious everything tasted.
City Perch was a great place to grab a bite to eat before going to IPIC for a movie. We happened to be there for Sunday brunch but I’d definitely go back for evening/dinner.
Like this restaurant very much. Service a little slow and food was not as good as other times. I’ll be back. Hope it was just an off night
Went to City Perch for a family birthday. The food was excellent, as always. Free parking in the lot across the street is a plus.
Worried going to brunch with two kids but it turned out having really good time. Great service and food!
I really enjoyed brunch here. It's a bit pricey but the food is creative like latke fried and grapefruit brûlée. Being the restaurant offers gluten free, I'd love to see a start h dish like crepes , waffles or even a freshly baked banana bread. Michael the manager keeps things running smoothly and the staff is always on point !
We chose a table near the outdoor space. Our server took our drink order promptly but then took forever to bing them to us. So long that another waiter came by and asked if we were being helped. We explained that we had ordered our drinks at least 10-15 minutes before and our waiter was nowhere to be found. This waiter went to the bar and brought us our drinks. Ten min after our original waiter shows up (is like to note that it was not an issue of being understaffed - there were numerous waiters standing by their station next to the bar throughout the night). Our waiter finally does show up and took our order which consisted of an appetizer and 3 entrees. About 30 min later our appetizer shows up with our entrees at the same time. Who wants to eat an appetizer with their entree? Needless to say there was not enough room at the table. One of the people in our party dropped his order of fries trying to make space at the table. We called a waiter over apologized that they were dropped and asked for replacements. They never came. Pizza was undercooked and soggy. Skirt steak good but small portion. Frieless burger was fine. Will never return. Worst service we’ve ever received at a restaurant. Terrible
