Originally opened in 1991 in the heart of Covent Garden, Christopher’s has established itself as one of London’s best American restaurants, featured in Condé Nast Traveller, GQ, Tatler & Harper's Bazaar to name but a few. Comprising of three spaces that recall the heady-glamour of the Modern American era, Christopher’s brings you a Martini Bar on the ground floor, a glamorous Restaurant on the first floor and an intimate Club Room on the lower ground floor for private events. Housed in a Grade II listed building with an interesting past of its own, including opening in 1870 as London’s first licensed casino, Christopher's offers an extensive all day dining menu of Modern American cuisine. Weekend Brunch is also a specialty where healthy options are on offer alongside indulgent brunch favourites, including our signature french toast.

Food was great, but service was poor. Not very attentive and just a lot of waiting around
I was a pre-pandemic regular. Food was amazing and service was great. Went for brunch yesterday, and what a let down. Food was mediocre at best, but the service has fallen off a cliff. Half the food did t arrive till after coffee !!!
Drinks never arrived.
Way past it’s prime. Don’t bother anymore.
Food was mediocre and the staff were dismissive bordering on rude. Overpriced, wouldn’t recommend.
Great evening with fantastic service and food. Superb cocktails too.
My wife and her friends fully enjoyed their time at Christopher’s and we would definitely come again
Faultless, as always
Delicious food, great service, lovely atmosphere
Nice building, very tasteful. But, we were seated next to the service lectern and I kept having my chair nudged by passing wait staff and at one point by another customer. So not an enjoyable experience. I felt that there are too many tables crowded into that room just to maximise profit but no attention to how the guest would feel with noise level and being seated in an unsuitable location. The food was good but overpriced for a simple fillet of salmon and a tiny watercress salad which was nothing special, it would’ve been better to put another accompaniment to the dish to make it better value for money. The service because there are too many people crammed into one room wasn’t really attentive. I wouldn’t eat at Christopher’s again but I would come for drinks in the downstairs bar area which I enjoyed more, better ambience.
It's only good for French toast, the smoothie was so bitty and not smooth at all. They need. Better blender. The huevos rancheros were disgusting, a tortilla wrap with a friend egg and cheddar cheese. Was one of the worst things I've ever eaten. The waitress asked me how it was and I said the huevos rancheros were really bad, she just smiled and walked away
The food was distinctly average and overpriced
Great for pre theatre meal or drink, Lyceum right opposite.
We arrived not knowing that we were going to have to go up stairs to our table. We were put into a room where initially we were the only table so no atmosphere. Staff could be friendlier.
Food was good but it was not clear that you had to order sides to go with your meal, had to ask.
Had an optional service charge added that was over £20
The food was really lovely. I enjoyed the tacos and the french toast
Reliably stylish and cosy martini bar. Good ambience. Excellent service, as always. Unsurprisingly, a very good list of (very tasty) martinis on the menu.
Great food. Great service. Beautiful environment & consistently good
Lovely food and nice atmosphere but service was a little slow. We had ask for water 3 times even though it was offered to us to start with, had to call waiter over to take order. Staff were nice enough but just didn't the feeling that they were happy to be serving you/working.
Amazing place, very good food and drinks, good service although when i tried calling 3 times to notify about running a little late nobody picked up
Service was good but not great but this isn’t a Complaint it’s a fact that unfortunately they are short staffed but the hard working staff still make it a lovely place to eat.
Amazing restaurant, superb service but so loud! Won’t stop me from going back though.
A very enjoyable experience, great food, great service. It was a treat for my wifes 50th birthday and a pre show dinner before going to the Aldwych theatre. We all enjoyed the experience and would'nt hesitste to recomend or re visit Christophers in the future. Thank you.
Wagyu burger was great really filling, loved the brioche french toast it was worth the journey from Croydon :) caramel & honeycomb milk shake was so nice but the glass wasn’t big enough . Lorenzo our waiter was very attentive to our needs and offered us amazing service.
We got Brunch and the food was great especially the french toast. Wagyu beef burger was cooked perfectly, meat melted in your mouth. Service was ok.. the room was also quite crowded
Food and cocktails were fantastic. The service though was a little off as 2 of the staff members were stood by the bar just chatting to each other instead of handling the tables.
Highly recommend, beautiful service from the moment of entry, to the moment I left.
We went for dinner and found that the place has a lovely atmosphere and decor but the food is very overpriced for what it is. Also, after attentive service at the start, we were left waiting almost 45mins for our main course. We had to remind them to bring it out. It wasn’t even super busy. The best thing was the dessert and I would only come here for that or perhaps brunch, next time. A few people we saw came for dessert only. Perhaps Christopher’s might want to change its focus.
Would not recommend, there are better places to eat in Covent Garden/Holborn area for the money.
Service was poor, sides for main course arrived 5 minutes after the steaks leading to a choice between eating the meat on its own while hot or waiting until lukewarm and having with the trimmings
Crab cake starter had some small pieces of shell in it.
When I arrived the staff were really friendly and accommodating. It took a while for them to take our order (I have been Christopher’s numerous times and this is always the case) I can appreciate they are busy though. If you order the French toast it will take forever to come. It is worth the wait though but I am unsure if it is worth the money. The lobster Mac and cheese is amazing, however for £24 the portion size is ridiculous especially as a main meal. The cocktails aren’t great but overall I would return.
Hated the food, had to send it back because it was that bad
Super nice place with incredible food. Loved the atmosphere and the staff were amazing
lovely staff, good ambience and clean toilets- nice evening out
Music much too loud for lunchtime - expensive- wouldn’t particularly recommend.
food quality seems to have gone down but prices remain high...!
Excellent service! Highly recommend to anyone!!!!!
Food and service were both absolutely awful. Menu was overpriced for the quality delivered. You’re better off going to McDonalds. This was meant to be a birthday brunch but I was very disappointed. I will not be coming back and there are much nicer places elsewhere.
Love the food! The french toast was REALLY GOOD!! Must order
We were having brunch for my husband’s 50th birthday, all the staff wished him a happy birthday and he felt very special. My daughter and I had pancakes and bacon which were very tasty, my husband had the poached egg and crab cake which was very good.
Amazing service by the staff, we had an hour to eat and get out and watch a show and they made this happen!
To be honest the food was good but not exceptional except for the mashed potato which was fantastic.
Cheesecake was completely tasteless but the Brownie was good according to my wife.
A nice evening but so is Miller & Carter for half the price.
Would I recomend it.....Yes but it was a cclose call.
Loved the french toast, yum!
The food was spectacular. I got the chocolate French toast and it was sooooo nice! The ambience is really lively as well, it’s a great place for everyday brunch dining! Would defo recommend
Daughter booked it for mine and husband's birthday. Really enjoyed it, food was really tasty and portion sizes were good. Only issue was they were really busy and felt like we were sardines in a can. Tables were too close together and we were talking really softly as we didn't want other tables hearing our conversation as we could hear theirs. Waited a while for our food but expected as so busy. Note to self, next time don't go on a weekend.
