CHOUX GRAS BRASSERIE CULINAIRE
I really like the place and the service was excellent. However, the food itself was disappointing.
We had an excellent experience at Choux Gras. We came earlier than our reservation and they were able to accommodate us. We came with our toddler and they had booster seat to offer us, helped us with the coats and settle us up at the table. The waiter was spectacular, we had a welcome like I rarely had in other place in Montreal. The maître d’hôtel came also at the table checking we were feeling confortable.
One thing I truly appreciated was the sharing dish option. I never sad that somewhere else and it’s perfect when you come with your family.
It’s from far the best place in Mt Tremblant!!
Terrific service from David. Food was great (we both had seafood mains.) If it’s winter, ask to sit near the fireplace. Excellent wine list (for bottles) but selection by the glass is pretty limited - would be nice to expand that.
Je me serais attendu à beaucoup mieux pour le prix
Delicious food! Server was slow and we often found ourselves waiting sometime for our food and drinks :(
The food was well done but way too expensive, same with the wine list. at that price we would have expected something much more spectacular. I will not come again.
Viande trop salée et de qualité moyenne. Le dessert était incomplet mais le prix était complet.
I ordered the halibut and it came lukewarm and very overcooked. It also was very bland. The waitress was not able to communicate in English very well. Was very surprised seeing that the restaurant was in a hotel where you are going to get many tourists. A gin martini was ordered and a vodka martini was served. I’m under the impression that it because of the language barrier. The octopus that was also ordered was suppose to be grilled but came burnt and overcooked. Overall, the meal was very disappointing.
Great meal - only question mark was the Choux Gras puff pastry dessert - was the pastry frozen ?
Staff was great, good was food, view was amazing :)
Hands down the best steak I have ever eaten. Everything about this restaurant is phenomenal, even with dietary restrictions I was accommodated without any issues!
We were there for supper
The room was nice
There was a good singer
I had french onion soup- no taste
All with overpriced wine
You can't beat the view. The food was really tasty but they were out of the trout which my husband really wanted. The wine list was good but I wish they had better wine glasses - i.e. Pinot glasses for Pinot, etc.
I would go back.
The food was great and the restaurant is beautiful. The prices are a little high, but that is expected in a higher end restaurant in a high end hotel.
Vraiment un resto à recommander. Service impec de la part de David et le repas était excellent. Un 5☆ bien méritée !!!
Talk about an amazing culinary experience. Great service (both the hostess and our server were outstanding), great location (the view was incredible...specially at sunset), the food was devine (the sugar pie-creme brulee was to die for), and my husband and I left beyond satisfied. Thank you for the wonderful experience.
Excellent restaurant. The food taste was great and so was the service. I would come back here.
The food was not as good as I was expecting for the price.
WoW ! Nous sommes allés au Choux Gras pour la Fête de mon conjoint et quelle belle expérience !
Tout les deux avons réellement apprécié !
Nourriture, ambiance, service ! Tout était parfait ! Nous recommandons sans hésiter !
We dined here to celebrate our anniversary.
The food was excellent, our waiter was very professional. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Beautiful decor and view of the mountain. Reasonable prices for the location and excellent service. Unfortunately the menu felt limited in comparison to other restaurants we’ve been to and could have had a few more options to choose from.
The food was outstanding: from the présentation to the taste.
The wine is a little expensive
This was a very uneven dining experience. Main course was missing one of the 3 lamb cuts that were described. By the time anyone asked us how the meal was it was too late to tell them. The dessert was HORRIBLE!!!!!!! Too sweet, some so called puff pastry. And some kind of red genoise....maybe? Lose this dessert fast!!
Guillaume is quite possibly the best server we have encountered in any restaurant we have ever visited, and this is not an exaggeration. He was friendly, pleasant, knowledgeable, attentive and helpful. The food was fantastic. We highly recommend this restaurant. Be sure to ask for Guillaume!
Long wait time, server was scarce, food quality medicore. Waited over 90min for food as they were lacking kitchen staff. I was not aware of a kids menu (still not sure but saw other kids with kid friendly options) so I ordered off the adult menu for kids (8 &10) ordered a pasta dish
($26) and a filet mignon steak ($50). Pasta was in a heavy sauce, not as advertised and was not good, my daughter did not eat. My sons had a filet mignon steak and he enjoyed it. Ordered appetizers (sweetbreads and octopus) would not order again, octopus was gummy and sweetbreads had 3 nibble peices). Main was veal steak, very gummy but good flavor. Drinks were good. Would I return? No. However I do recommendations a must try restaurant Quintessence, 3 min walk from Fairmount! - amazing service and food was fantastic!
C’etait bien! Par contre, il manque le wow a chaque plat que nous avons goûté!
De très très loin la meilleure table de la montagne!
Service was excellent but octopus appetizer was poor.
The wait for the food was excessively long. The food was poor.
Excellent food. Extremely noisy. Friendly & professional staff
We had eaten here previously last summer on two occasions. Everything was very good. This meal was the dinner from hell. I don’t mind a leisurely meal but after an inordinate amount of time between the servings of appetizers and entrees the food finally was served cold. We sent it back and did receive freshly cooked meals.
We were seated by the window at a lovely table next to the HVAC vents. About the time we received our new hot meals the vents started to blow hot air. I brought this to their attention and basically we lived through this for a half hour. They were apologetic and offered us petit fours with our coffee.
This could be a great restaurant. Unfortunately it’s very mismanaged.
Tout était parfait, les cœliaques sont très bien reçus. Un gros merci!!
Lynda the hostess is outstanding. We had fantastic service from Daniel. The food was amazing. The only issue was the table next to us playing youtube videos on their phone. We will continue to return to this great place!
The only thing that surpassed the food and drinks was the amazing service by all especially Dominique. She is a true asset to the restaurant and the hotel. We will be back!
I use to go to different Fairmount, Montebello, Lac Louise, Toronto, Banff, we are going to Jasper soon. Every time it is always the same fantastic environment, service, food especially for Lac Louise and Banff. Fairmount Tremblant is different. The major point, the customers. Noisy, and everything that goes with lack of respect of those who sit next to you. I would have wished that someone, a director for instance, advise politely the noisy group of men that were sitting next to us on this very special occasion we had mentionned on OpenTable. Unfortunately nobody of the head service was wise enough to politely tell the noisy neighbors to please, have fun but in respect of all others around. So we decided to leave quickly, no coffee no dessert, we took the bill. It is hard to put excellent recommendation after our so disappointing evening.
Un mélange de groupes et de tables à 2 brise un peu l’ambiance
Service was great. Bread amazing. Soup amazing. Entrees were so so.
We had an appetizer each and a large main dish to share (entire grilled fish). These were good and the main was very good. The sides (bread and mashed potatoes) were ordinary. Service was relatively attentive, except towards the end. The dessert was a letdown. I believe it was an attempt to make a deconstructed lemon meringue pie and I wouldn't have eaten it for free. If you don't have a dedicated pastry chef, just keep it simple.
Overall pretty good, but like most food in Tremblant, not worth the cost.
Delicious food, phenomenal service.
