Booked this on the day because it fit in with other plans and had a good rating. Service was ok but the food wasn't as good as what I'd expected. For what we paid, I'd have expected much better.
I'm a regular at Chocolate Buddha because it ticks all of the right boxes for me: the food is fresh and healthy, they cater REALLY well for my gluten intolerant friends, they take bookings, their lychee cocktails are awesome and the staff are super friendly. That last point can't be overestimated: it is so nice to walk into a place where they actually care.
Fabulous service and food...great for before a concert.
Phenomenal service throughout the whole process, combined with excellent food and location. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Service was amazing - staff were welcoming and attentive, took us through the menu and made recommendations and the manager even stopped by to say hi. Food was delicious (just like I remember it - haven’t been for a while) but a little pricey. Overall it was a great night out!
Friendly staff, great food, good drinks, nice ambience.
Great service from friendly and helpful staff. Food always interesting and good standard. Very convenient for pre-theatre or concert.
Always delighted with this restaurant. Efficient staff and lovely food.
Great space for large bookings. For couples, you will need to be open to communal tables . Great food and service
Sensational food, courteous and attentive service with informative advice about selections from the menu. Excellence in dining.
Fantastic service great food never lets you down Well Done
Always very good. I look forward to my next visit.
Always happy to visit Chocolate Buddha; service and food are exemplary each and every time.
I like eating at Chocolate Buddha. The wait staff really know their job and give excellent service without being in your face all the time. The restaurant has an easy vibe, the food is good and there is something to suit nearly every dietary requirement.
Food as always interesting and different. We felt a bit squashed but struck up a friendly conversations with our neighbours which added to the enjoyment. Going to a concert so appreciated the speed of the service. My one negative comment was the price if the wine - excellent quality but more expensive than elsewhere.
Outstanding. Thanks to the team at Chocolate Buddha for accomodating us and making it a great evening. Can’t fault it.
Had a great lunch. Staff were wonderful and food was delicious. We plan on trying to eat our way through the menu when we visit Melbourne. Delicious!
Been before and liked it. Enjoyable lunch sized meal aesthetically presented
Great food and outstanding customer service! the staff helped us use their office to print out forgotten concert tickets :)
Food is beautifully and creatively presented, with amazing and innovative flavours and textures that just makes the experience forever memorable.
Super friendly and fun staff and excellent service.
Amazing food, great service and very reasonably priced. Good selection for kids too! This was our 3rd time here and we will definitely be back!
My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary/valentines day here before going to see Dream Lover. We parked at Fed Square and it was so close to eat & go on to the theatre. Our meal which was all gluten free for me was as yummy as the last time we came here. Highly recommend coming here. Wait staff were friendly if a little clumsy (splattered dipping sauce all over my husbands shirt) lucky I got it out. We’ll definitely be back!! Got free parking too by having our parking ticket validated-winner!
Outstanding service by Bianca and Lucas! Recommendations were spot-on and very inclusive gluten-free range of food. Perfect for Sunday lunch!
As always had a lovely meal here at Chocolate Buddha. Food is reliably delicious, service is prompt, friendly and efficient and there are great gluten and dairy free options on the menu including dessert. Ambience is spot on. Highly recommended for locals and visitors alike.
Caught up with friends at this restaurant. The waitress was fantastic in helping us decide what to order. Food was amazing! Desserts were scrumptious. (even got to take some salted caramel sauce home with me!) Staff & management were amazing and so accomodating!! Will definitely go back!
Great food and location. Staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back
Great for pre theatre dinner during the week - staff know you have to be out by a certain time and help prioritise the kitchen. Staff are always friendly and willing to help with menu choices
Fantastic food and were happy to move us inside where my daughter could sit more easily at tables.
As always great menu (excellent gluten free meat free), friendly and helpful staff.
From the moment we arrived at Chocolate Buddha we felt welcome.
We had made a booking previously, online, to ensure we had a table together.
We were offeered assistances in our choice of food and our waiters and waitresses were courteous, friendly and made us all feel we had made the right choice for our lunch venue.
Not only were we pleased with the service, the menu and the ambience, but we were well pleased with the prices.
We were doubly delighted when Lucas arrived at the table and thanked me for booking at their restaurant and recommended that we not ignore the dessert menu. Boy, are we glad that we didn't! They were sublime!
Thank you Chocolate Buddha for looking after us so well. We will definitiely be back again.
Fabulous food! Excellent for gluten free, one whole page of GF options. The staff is what makes this place a standout. Changed our booking 3 times on the day due to delayed flights & Lucas was a legend making that a super easy and stress free experience. Highly recommended!
We caught up for a Graduation Celebration and the staff were interested and interactive.
The food is as always wonderful with s lovely vibe.
Great for a casual lunch or dinner.
We booked for 7 people. I recommend choosing a time of 7.30 or later to avoid the pre theatre rush. It was very busy. Food excellent.
Food was good but too much rice and not enough of anything else. Portions are on the small side.
We had to wait an awfully long time for sushi and we had a group of guys squashed onto our table which was a bit awkward, otherwise food was good and waitress was attentive.
This is my third time here .... but my husbands first and it was excellent.... I love that the staff are super friendly..... if you are not sure on a wine they will bring you a little tasting..... which is so thoughtful.... and as this was our first dinner we just chose a mix of things.
But the lunch time Bento box is also good.
Great food, friendly staff and great location for those going to the art gallery or state theatre!
Great food and prompt service. Our friend was here from the USA and she was very impressed.
We had a great dining experience especially friendly staff, good service and delicious food. Especially helpful to my friend, who had injured herself coming to Choc Buddha. Would recommend to overseas visitors.
I organised dinner for 9 people on a Monday night, everyone was complimentary on their food, and I loved my ramen. It wasn't too loud even though there were a lot of people in the restaurant, the wait staff were fantastic.
Chocolate Buddha probably met but didn't exceed our expectations. The host welcomed us very warmly and said he'd arrange a complimentary dessert for our Anniversary but that was the last we saw of him for the rest of the evening and as a result we chose to go elsewhere for dessert. That was a tiny bit disappointing...
The food was delicious and fresh. We especially appreciated the wide gluten free menu as two in our party are coeliac.
