Chocolate Buddha Ratings and Reviews
The food was good - it's not traditional Japanese but it tasted great. The service was amazing; we had one person in the group with dietary requirements, which we mentioned on the booking, and they were catered to really well. It's good food in a fun environment.
The staff were really charming and took time to talk about the menu, listening to our requests and making recommendations. You could tell the staff felt part of the team. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Our order also came super fast. Seating was comfortable, not too crowded and everything was stylish and quite calming with all the Buddhas on display.
Chocolate Buddha has been on my reliable eatery list for ten years. I use it for a quick, reliable dinner before the theatre or a movie; for our sports club committee meetings; and for a long, enjoyable dinner catch up with friends. The food choices are excellent and the service is always really friendly and efficient. The lychee martinis are divine.
Easy to book - set menu options were excellent. Service was fantastic - they were busy but didn't let that affect the time took to explain things and engage with the table.
Food was excellent - they did an amazing job of bringing multiple plates of the dishes to the table together.
Love this place - 2nd year in a row we've had our Team Xmas Lunch there (back this year by unanimous agreement) - great food, with a good variety for those with dietary requirements & staff are friendly & helpful - as a group we'll probably be back next year, as an individual, I get there a couple of times a year and always enjoy it :-)
Extremely delicious food and helpful, friendly staff. Bit nippy outside but knee rugs & wall heaters a good addition, plus we had offer of inside table when we arrived. Main attraction is the outstanding food - would happily eat my way through the entire menu... Thank you!
Sitting outdoors on a beautiful day - absolutely unbeatable. The menu is perfect for a blend of modern Japanese with seafood. And the service is spot on. This location is so sought after that sitting near the door can result in compromised enjoyment of the experience because there are always other people hovering and waiting for tables.
Menu is fantastic but I expected the wait and bar staff to have a more knowledge of the different sakes. No idea wchi ones were gluten free or the ingredients in any of them. A quick google search on my end answered all my questions. Why didn't I just do this for myself? because the price of this restaurant would suggest that you are actually waited on and do not have to worry about this.
Other tables ordered before us, plates got mixed up with other tables.
It was a lovely evening, thanks to the weather but this place is overpriced for this kind of nonsense.
Chocolate Buddha delivered on all fronts. The food was exquisite, the staff were unbelievably knowledgeable, friendly and efficient, the atmosphere was enjoyable and the music wasn’t too loud. The drinks wer delicious and we had a fabulous time. Highly recommend.
I cannot recommend Chocolate Buddha enough. We went there to celebrate my mum's retirement and surprise her with tickets to Cirque du Soliel. The staff were phenomenal, getting in on the surprise throughout the meal and "kicking" mum out at the end with the tickets and a huge congratulations. And aside from the amazing staff the food was gorgeously delicious. It was an amazing meal and the staff made it a very special day for my mum which was great because unlike an ageing entertainer she is only retiring once!
As always - great food - we do try new things but it's hard to go past our favourites. And great service! I keep introducing this place to more people. It never lets you down. It's kind of cool that we see the same people helping us each time we go. Great location.
Ambience would have been better if it wasn't for the loud music overwhelming the entire restaurant on the day from a concert outside at Fed Square. Otherwise the chocolate spring rolls were delectable - want another tray full. Can't fault the food presentation and the maitre D' was lovely.
