Thanks Buddha Management
Chocolate Buddah never disapoints. I have taken several groups of out of town friends here and they have loved it. I've also gone for dinner prior to a show at the Arts Centre on several occasions and had a light meal and cocktail and the staff made sure I got my meal in plenty of time to get across to the Arts Centre for my show. It is the perfect place for a lovely snack or a full dining experince and did I mentioned the cocktails and the sake!!!??. On this last occassion my friends and I shared some starters and mains and the staff were so accommodating and made recommendations and brought us extra bowls and side plates without us even having to ask. In my eyes they can do no wrong. I love that the staff are a diverse group of people and cultures with energetic and engaging personalities. Some people who are highly sensitive to noise might find it a little noisy but I love the vibe and somehow the acoustics seem to work even when the entire restuarant is filled to the brim so I've never found it an issue. I would highly recommend this restaurant and I'll keep going back for more of their scrumptuous, fresh cuisine and great service.
A little pricey for what you get. Nice ambience
Food is good and my friends and i had fun. We’ll be back.
We made a last minute late-night Valentines booking at Chocolate Buddha as we had been at the NGV where the wait for food was incredibly long and we would much prefer to have a sit down meal at a table where we could chat and enjoy ourselves. Chocolate Buddha delivered! I knew they had a sushi train but we were sat at a table for 2 which was lovely even though the table behind us was incredibly loud. Thankfully they left soon after we arrived. A couple of the dishes my partner wanted were unavailable due to being popular and selling out so he was disappointed but everything we did get - 5 dishes to share - was great. We went for a mix; salty edamame, tempura pumpkin roll, salmon maki roll, Korean fried chicken and nasu dengaku all washed down with a Sake flight. Staff were incredibly friendly, understanding and knowledgeable. Keep up the great work!
Came here for some delicious and safe coeliac food. We left completely delighted.
Great and tasty gluten free menu for coeliacs. Friendly, speedy service, really good for casual dining with a really accessible location.
We keep coming back for the obvious reasons, a good value, nice food, friendly staff. A lovely experience, thank you.
Great restaurant- excellent service, very tasty food & good ambience! Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner with friends visiting from overseas.
The four of us absolutely loved the food and the first rate service. We particularly enjoyed the eggplant as well as the fried lotus root. Although we did find it a little noisy it was not a turnoff and we will definitely be back to try other dishes which looked particularly appealing. Will definitely be recommending the restaurant to friends
Chocolate Buddha is even better after the reno of last year!
The atmosphere, feeling of space and views outside over the city all make for an ideal city dining location. The food has also become more sassy in the new version of this Restaurant. Hiro and Lucas lead a team of waiters who are all very friendly and attentive in the service you enjoy:)
We always love Chocolate Buddha. Great service, delicious food and just a fun night out.
Always leave the place with a smile on my face and a full belly
I love love loved Chocolate Buddha. Food was lovely and service excellent. We were running late for the theatre and the manager brought the food out quickly for us. Excellent
Even when we were late we were given a complimentary phone call and treated so well when we eventually got there. The service of just lovely and the food was delicious. The Elderflower Martini was sublime.
Delightful atmosphere, wonderful waiting staff and delicious food!
All of the food was wonderful and thanks to Hiro for looking after us!
Chocolate Buddha Is always consistent in terms of food quality and service. A no -fuss kind if experience. A good place to catch up with friends or family especially for lunch.
Great food and atmosphere.
Great location, excellent healthy food, excellent service
The food is quick and delicious and the staff are very friendly. I was there during the Australian Tennis Open and we had a great view of the screen from our table outside,
Great food but incredibly expensive. Our waiter wasn’t that friendly
A great dining experience! The food is exceptional. We loved the sashimi and sushi platter and soft shell crab rolls the best! The fish was extremely high quality. Great views and the staff were friendly and helpful!
Service very quick & friendly waitress. We were a table of 7 including 2 children. It was a new experience fir most of us, but we were guided by the very friendly & helpful waitress. What we did order ways enough for us to share & be satisfied except for the apple crumble & ice cream which was delicious & we should have ordered 2 instead of one. Overall very nice & a recommendation from us.
Great place for a quick and well prepared meal. Especially for pre theatre meals
The new menu is great. We had delicious food and the service was impeccable.
Excellent food and service at a reasonable price. We have been coming for years and will continue to do so!
Could not fault it, food was great and Lucas was a delight to deal with. Definitely worth going again.
The service was really friendly. The staff catered to gluten free and low FODMAP dietary requests with ease, and the food was delicious.
Hasn’t been to Chocolate Buddha for many years, and decided to take a friend for her 30th birthday. It absolutely did not disappoint!
My sister and I had a fantastic meal at Chocolate Buddha. They were really great in catering for my dietary requirements which I really appreciated.
Lovely fresh food, plenty of variety, just delicious.
Had a lovely lunch at Chocolate Buddha! Great food and service and the Restaurant Manager, Lucas, is absolutely fantastic. Love the renovated look and a definite improvement in food quality and presentation since my last visit. Will definitely be back :)
While food was good, it was over priced and there wasn’t much variety. Interior of restaurant was pretty but the communal seating wasn't the best for a date night.
Service was just weird and awkward - extremely loud volume, no eye contact and reluctance to let us have a wine list and things soy sauce! Glad I tried it but won’t be back.
Hello, I am booking the get together with the daughter for a long time and remembered by the staff. We are enjoying the food and will be back.
Sometimes it is a little noisy, it is the company and after they leave, it gets better.
I wish the staff great and happy year 2020. With best wishes and appreciation, Jarmila.
Need to change menu description for edamame - disappointed to receive edamame plain but with a bowl of dipping sauce - was expecting cooked/coated in sauce, which I wanted. Otherwise very good
Have eaten at chocolate Buddha twice in the last 2 weeks and both times the food and service have been excellent!
The menu is eclectic and has plenty of variety. Food is delicious and served quickly. Service is decent, but staff need to be trained on how to determine which group and order is for when seated at a long table.
Went twice while in Melbourne on holiday. Delicious food and a light airy ambiance.
This was the second time we had been to Chocolate Buddha and it was as good this time as last time which was 6 months ago. We are vegans and the man waiting on our table was very helpful in suggesting what we could eat and also how some choices could be modified for us. Ambience is great and service from the staff excellent. We will certainly be coming back.
Love the new renovation & also love that I see a lot of original staff. I took friends from interstate there & they enjoyed the experience. Stand out dishes - Sashimi Plates look so beautifully presented & the cheesecake is divine. I’ll be back for sure. Well done Chocolate Buddha
