Fantastic for a coeliac - I felt so spoilt! Will be back when CB reopens after renovations.
Very quick from ordering to receiving. Heaps of choices if you love seafood. Not great for vegetarians or vegans. Does have gluten free menu. Great helpful staff. Good food and wine, though my food choices were limited due to fish/seafood allergies
I love the food but it's the service that blows me away.
I feel like I'm amongst efficient friends
excellent for gluten free options in melbourne!! reasonably priced and good serving sizes, a rarity in our expensive city.
Great Gluten Free
The food was awful. The chicken was fatty / of low quality. The sauce on the Bimbimbap was too sweet and sickly.
The Yuzu cheesecake was delicious. Good wine list. Delightful menu items. Thank you!
Outstanding restaurant. We had shared plates among the four of us and the food was all delicious. We have been there many times and always are tantalised by the variety of dishes on offer. Looking forward to trying the pop up restaurant soon.
Fantastic for those with coeliacs, very knowledgeable on CC risk, they will take great care of you. And the food is above amazing!
Melbourne evenings can always be tricky for outdoor dining. The wind was whipping up from the river, however it did not detract from an excellent outdoor shared meal at Chocolate Buddha. Friendly and attentive staff, tasty and fresh food, we will come back.
Amazing service. Perfect location. Great food! Extensive menu selection and something for everyone.
Great Japanese food and a ready great location Federation Square which makes it a handy central location. As a coeliac I really appreciate their gluten free menu options and the knowledge they have of a requirements.
The service was prompt and friendly. The main course was average (the flavor could have been less bland), and the dessert was delicious. Since no loud events were going on in Fed Square, sitting outside was really nice with the beautiful weather.
Food came out fast especially for how busy it was, we were outside at the end of the table and had staff checking on us, making sure everything was okay. Food was delicious!
We really enjoyed the birthday dinner we had for our son. Service was fabulous and Jess who looked after us really made it a great night for us all
We were sat next to some really loud women and could barely hear one another talk. Other than that as good as any other time I have been there.
Great vegan options, which were even enjoyed by the omni’s. always enjoy eating here.
Food wasn't bad, but I've had far better at a Sushi Train at a fraction of this price. I would expect more from a dedicated restaurant. Gluten-free menu and awareness was a positive.
The staff was lovely, very friendly and helpful. Menu with lots to choose from which we enjoyed. We ordered two diffeeent types of Ramen and we were all pretty disappointed. We probably should have ordered sushi or just anything else. Will probably go back to try other things from the menu but the Ramen was a pass unfortunately.
The food was delicious and the staff were sensitive to the need for us to be out in time for a show.
Will definitely be back!
Delicious healthy food, refreshing cocktails, wonderful service, relaxing atmosphere. Perfect place to catch up with friends.
The food is delicious, the restaurant is very comfortable and the service is good. However the meals don't come out together. So other people are waiting for theirs for a long time before everyone can star eating.
We had attentive friendly service. It was our fourth visit and there will definitely be a fifth
Had the best outdoor table with uninterrupted views of the Australian men's tennis final. The service and food were outstanding. Ordered too much food but managed to do it justice.
Gluten free heaven! We had a visiting friend who is celiac, and Chocolate Buddha was absolutely perfect. Our friend was so excited when she saw the size of the gluten free menu - an entire A4 page. They also have a “regular” menu that has a few extra items which do contain gluten. The Chocolate Buddha has a separate kitchen and food prep area to ensure no cross contamination during cooking and preparation. My brown rice bibimbap was perfect, and the noodle dumplings excellent.
We all absolutely loved our meal, and the location overlooking Federation Square was lovely - It’s definitely worth asking for an outdoor table on a beautiful summers evening.
Service was super friendly and efficient - the staff know their menu inside out. We will definitely go back again.
We booked to watch the Australian Open Men's Final on the big screen. Staff were accommodating, professional and very fun. We had a great night.
My all time favourite city venue. The staff are fantastic, always welcoming and fun and ofcourse the food is consistently delicious.
Everyone needs to have a Chocolate Buddha experience. 🤗
rd to my next visit to explore further the Gluten Free Menu
Another very good meal at Chocolate Buddha. We were there after the tennis
and thus the restaurant was humming.
We chose 6 different smaller dishes. The best of these were the Korean Fried Chicken,
the Tempura Mushroom, Beef Tataki and the Buddha Dumplings. Slightly disappointing were the Salmon and Kingfish Maki Rolls. The service was personable.
Our only complaint was the food was delivered in a rush.
Everything came within less than 20 mins, too quick!
Possibly after a faster than usual turnaround as there were so many diners looking for a meal..
Great atmosphere for a beer and watching live sports. Food sounded good, however seemed pretty basic once it was presented.
Food was great, but service wasn't as good as it has been in the past
Convenient location to meet up with friends for a drink and meal after work. Would definitely take overseas visitors here. Food is delicious. Staff are friendly.
Chocolate Buddah is amazing, I suffer from Ceoliac Disease and this restaurant really understands the Gluten Free aspect and does not skimp on the quality of the food.
The service was great, knowledgeable and very friendly. Totally recommend this restaurant not only to my fellow CD sufferers but to everyone.
Great vegan options and super attentive, quick service.
Always great--friendly efficient staff and fast service
Really enjoyed our meal whilst watching the Australian Open on the big screen in Federation Square. Great options for kids as well, highly recommended.
The restaurant was so busy, hot and noisy that we did not enjoy dining here as much as we usually do.
The food is always delicious and the service is great
Good food and service. Staff very attentive and food came out on time. We shared plates and enjoyed every dish. Loved the apple crumble!
The waiters really looked after our group - we had four kids, two gf and everyone found something yummy to eat. Great being able to watch the tennis on the big screen from our table.
