The heart of CHISWICK is it’s kitchen garden where much of the produce for the menu is grown. CHISWICK - Woollahra Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant in itself is an experience, the atmosphere created is truly one of a kind. This is the most perfect location for date night (or any occasion for that matter)!
The menu is the perfect mix of every flavour and you can see as the dishes are served that every plate is created with love. The lamb shoulder is certainly a favourite.
We'll be back!
Both food and service were impeccable as always. We've been here several times and had to get the lamb - again!! It never fails to impress!! Also got the whole chicken this time. So juicy and no dry bits!! All sides were tasty!! We ordered the steamed greens, pumpkin & feta, and chips. Will keep coming back!!
We had a lovely evening at Chiswick , however we all thought the food was disappointing. Octopus not tender, my daughters fish although cooked perfectly had a bitter taste. The others in our party of 4 had the pork loin which wasn't very tender and really a little underwhelming.
No complaints about the service though it was excellently. The restaurant wasn't very busy so not too noisy but I imagine if busy it would have been. Patrons could have been spread out more when tables were empty.
We are out of towners . We had a delicious Sunday lunch at the Chiswick recently. Was recommended the special of the day , roast veal with root vegetables which was exquisite . The garden setting was lovely . Service was impeccable . Will definitely recommend to our friends when in Sydney .
3 of us had 2 foccia+2entrees+3 side dishes and we had 2 main shared dishes-the lamb and the john dory and the bill came to $311.00 the fish was no more than an average sized and simple pan fried with some cooked veg and it's $72 and what a rip off!!!the value for money wasn't there at all.this res.used to be good when they had flat bread and stewed fish and their signature desert and their lamb was better before i'd never recommend it to any of my friends.overall the food wasn't not good enough
I have been here a few times before, for dinner, and enjoyed the food and ambience. This visit was at lunchtime and the noise level made it impossible to conduct a conversation. Would not recommend it if you want to catch up with someone you haven't seen for a while. You won't be able to hear anything they say.
Also I thought the food was very ordinary this time. My octopus was lacking flavour and was chewy. The burrata cheese was served as a lump on the plate and was pretty uninspiring.
Quality of the food was hit and miss. One Entree was perfect (Sashimi tuna) but the beef tartare lacked something - could have had a bit more spice/kick to it. One main was fine (Smoked King Salmon) and one was overcooked and quite dry (steamed snapper). The snapper was quite poor, very dry and a disappointment - a sad end to the meal. The side of roasted pumpkin with goats cheese was perfect. Staff were ambivalent and not that helpful - no recognition of our wedding anniversary.
This is my 2nd time dining at the restaurant. I had dinner there in 2016 and on this occasion it was a lunch event. There was a party of 4 and we had the Banquet option so that we could try a bit of everything. The food was fresh, tasty and wonderfully presented. It was my first time trying steak tartare and I was so surprised at how great tasting it was. We enjoyed everything on this spring menu and there was so much food especially when we got to the mains.
Unfortunately not a good experience for us. Started with cocktails & before we had finished were asked to order. Ordered an entree to slow the process down but it arrived before I had finished the cocktail. We were well into the mains before we ordered our wine. One of our company ordered the eggplant dish. This was not cooked properly & was inedible & was deducted from the bill. my pork was good but not great. The snapper was good. A glass was broken nearby, not your fault but still disruptive.
