Chin Chin restaurant is open 11am till late, 7 days a week and focuses on South-East Asian cuisine with Benjamin Cooper at the helm as executive chef. We're modeled on the dining halls of Asia with a shared-eating concept and therefore operate on a walk-in only policy for groups of less than 8.

The staff were so accommodating to our taste and made changes to our “Feed Me” banquet to suit us. The banquet was so generous that we took home a whole untouched plate and many other plates were hardly touched. We would recommend to others however be ready for some chili and fried foods.

Asian fusion at it's very very best!! Amazing variety of tastes and textures with lots of little surprises. My kingfish sashimi was the best I have ever eaten .... ever! The beef pad seuw was exceptional. Great vibe, though be prepared for the loud music.

Dining at Chin Chin is always brilliant. We now have our set favourites to order but each time we go, we try to order one thing we haven’t had before. Never disappointed.
I had received a voucher from my hubby and boys for Christmas and this was the first opportunity to go in this crazy year! The fact that my family were all there, enjoying excellent dishes altogether, made it special. My eldest son loves dumplings so he was wrapped the yum ya menu was available.

Service was poor, it’s like a conveyor belt. The first couple of courses were good and came at the right time. As the night went on the last couple of courses were poor especially an aubergine dish that was sloppy and greasy. Towards the end we were waiting a long time for the final courses.

Food is always exceptional at Chin Chin be it Sydney or Melbourne. We chose the $89 set menu and it was delicious 😋. One tip - they bring too many dishes all at once, so ask them for only 2 at a time.
One gripe. We asked 3 times for them to turn the music down as we were shouting across the table to talk. This was met with blatant disinterest and completely ignored. I kind of think that it’s a service industry and you want ensure your customers are enjoying the ambience.

This was my first time here and I was very disappointed. Very over priced and the food is definitely not worth what they charge. I got the prawn egg noodle dish with hellfire chilli oil which was $35.5 and it came out relatively small looking burnt and like a sloppy mess. It was a $15 dish they charge double for. The double brownie was hard like a rock with sour tasting cream and music was so loud you have to shout. The servers came up to us every 5-10 minutes which was very rude and annoying

Food and service were excellent. Music was a little too load, felt like I was at a club. Could barely hold a conversation. More of a bar scene than a restaurant. But if you like the loud music, than everything else was awesome. Worth trying.

Food was great really delicious service while friendly was way below expectations order was not put through we waited almost an hour for our first dish and we had one more dish remaining which came about 30 minutes after we finished everything else and by that stage over waiting so we had to take it away we were given our drinks on the house but still quite disappointed with the experience

Chin Chin is our place to go for some important celebration. Great food, atmosphere and service.
Wine list is really good. And my favourite whiskey list is amazing.

Ive been to a few restaurants in Sydney after lockdown restrictions lifted and the quality of food has dropped dramatically.

Fortunately chin chin is not one of them. The food was amazing, wine fantastic and service was super friendly.

The service was really good, staff were very knowledgeable about the menu options. The Prawn Egg Noodle dish was amazing purely because of the chilli oil on the side which was amazing. other than that nothing special. The short ribs were not short, sweet or sticky like you want them to be. We got one Large rib in a sweet and sour sauce. The Tom Yum fried rice, was average I have had much better from Thai Patong. The drink list was extensive and I would go back for the drinks.

Excellent from start to finish. Service was attentive without being annoying, there’s a good list of wines & the food is sensational.

Don’t miss the beef rib, kingfis sashimi, Malaysian prawn curry & the desserts were also great (I find a lot of restaurants are a let down for this).

Shoutout to Ralph for being an excellent chef & top bloke too

Was happy with food quality.
Due to covid was satisfied with restrictive menu.
However we felt uncomfortable With the structure of seating considering COVID-19 restrictions. We sat as two with two tables back of chairs touching our chairs. Concerned with that after initial contact with front of house was scan QR code and waiver but then no further protocols in place within seating layouts.

I have eaten here a few times and have had an amazing variety of food for the $88 banquet menu.

This visit we received 3 poultry dishes, 2 chicken, 1 duck there was no pork or beef served to us which we were looking forward too. We also didn’t have any rice or noodle dishes so we left feeling unsatisfied.

The best restaurant I’ve ever dined at. Service was faultless - the most efficient I’ve ever encountered. The food was incredible, full of flavour, every dish we had from the Feed Me menu was delicious. I can’t wait to return and try the other dishes. 10/10!

King fish dish, padseuw and beef ribs were nice. Servings are tiny and pricey. Entree dishes were expensive as mains. Curry was salty and didn’t have variety of veg. There was too much of the eggplant. The menu didn’t say there was rice with the curry so we ended up ordering extra roti.

Was disappointed as we travelled quite far to try the jungle curry dish and the Sydney store did not have it. It was promoted so much on Instagram so it was a big let down.

We have been to chin chin many times, both in Melb and Syd. The Syd takeaway menu during isolation was brilliant value except for the massaman which I wouldn’t recommend.

Our friends had never been and I had raved about the restaurant. We visited Syd restaurant and planned to do the feed me, we upgraded to the chef’s special $88pp but I was extremely disappointed. The food was mediocre and we never got any curries as part of it until we asked. Overall very disappointing compared to Melb.

Food is fantastic here. Everything exceptional, you can’t go wrong ordering. Great cocktails, though exxy at $22 a pop. Make sure you have a booking or you’ll be waiting hours. I don’t think it’s worth the wait but if you book it’s a great meal for a special occasion.

Such a great night, especially after isolation. The staff were absolutely superb, an incredibly coordinated floor, And everyone was so happy to be out and about. The food was great, and I specially love the playlist and music. We will be back for sure. Thank you so much!

Food was great however we felt the amount of alcohol in the cocktails we had were low compared to the taste . Also the level of liquid poorer into a wine glass/ flute didn't match the amount of money which was being charged. Alcohol prices are over inflated but food was great.
