Chin Chin Sydney
Chin Chin restaurant is open 11am till late, 7 days a week and focuses on South-East Asian cuisine with Benjamin Cooper at the helm as executive chef. We're modeled on the dining halls of Asia with a shared-eating concept and therefore operate on a walk-in only policy for groups of less than 8.
Great food and atmosphere
Food was delicious. But tables too close together where I could hear next tables conversation over my own table and when the woman next to me knocked her glass of wine, it splashed all over me as we were pretty much shoulder to shoulder. Would be nice to be a bit spaced out between tables.
Chin Chin did not disappoint! Great food, buzzy atmosphre, awesome, attentive service.
Just a great place for lunch!
Booked a work dinner here for 10 people. We we given the chef's table which was a pleasant surprise. All the diners had a great time. The food was delicious. Would come back again.
I had been to this restaurant for a few times for Feed-me menu but the menu have changed and they are not as nice as the previous menu.
am very disappointed with the desert menu...
ice cream ???
expect to have an Asian desert.
Professionally run with staff that know their stuff. Friendly welcome and excellent service throughout. Food is superb and the extensive menu makes future visits a must. Good cocktail and wine list, by glass, carafe or bottle. Has a great buzz and loved background music selection. Some may find noisy but personally loved the vibe and atmosphere.
Honestly the best restaurant I’ve been to in years!!!!!!
Couldn’t fault it in anyway!!
Food was so delicious, service fabulous, the waiters were cheeky. So full by the end of the meal! Quite noisy and crowded, so not for those who like quiet calm spaces.
I brought my overseas friends to Chin Chin and they all loved the entire experience. From the vibrant bar til the cool restaurant vibe, they all went crazy about the atmosphere and decor. The service was perfect - as always - and the waiter Andre made the whole experience to be even better. Spectacular food! And even when a few of our guest felt some of the dishes were too spicy they quickly prepared new ones for them! 10 out of 10!
The food was great, however the service was shocking.
I would have understood if the restaurant had been busy, however it was fairly quiet yet it was like our table was invisible. We constantly had to battle to get someones attention.
Puts me off ever going back.
Lovely food - a unique and modern take on your traditional Thai/Asian classics. Cocktails were amazing and the interior decor is very chic and cool.
great food for reasonable price
Impossible to book dinner at a reasonable hour, only 5.30 or 9.30, even with weeks of notice. Delicious food, but barely enough to share for tasters, very noisy and overpriced. $600 diner for 4. Wouldn't recommend.
Everything was great, but the dessert was very disappointing. They were home-made magnum ice creams, was expecting something a bit more extravagant for a set menu.
Great food and atmosphere. Staff was lovely, but not attentive. We had to flag down waitstaff repeatedly to order drinks and food each time. No one checked in to see how the food was or if we'd like more drinks.
Booked for dinner here after recommendation
Arrived early for 9.30 pm
Left until 9.45 at the bar before we were seated
Staff ingnored us
Made us feel very un welcome
Once we were seated. Food and wine was very good
Flavours were perfectly balanced and packed a punch every mouthful, my mouth is still watering, noise level on a Saturday was drowning even for the 5:30 seating... would definitely return for the food. Exceptional!
Excellent dining experience with attentive staff. The food was delicious and portions generous. We ate from the feed me menu and would certainly choose it again. You were given the option of picking from each category off the a la carte which was great.
Veuve was flat, cocktails poor balance, food ok but underwhelming, salmon over cooked and balance in sauces off, waitresses had their backsides in our face all night as we ate.
Had an amazing time here for valentines day dinner. Our server Elody was very accommodating and recommended awesome dishes to meet our appetite as we left full and very happy with the flavour bombed meals!
Elody and the team also made our own private gender reveal for our first child one to remember! Thank you to the guys at Chin Chin, we will be back for sure!
Fantastic food, cool interior design, nice crowd and fabulous music.
Love everything about Chin Chin Sydney- Food and service is always outstanding however the music is always playing too loud so guests compete with that level of noise and speak even louder. I feel l was screaming through my dinner.... We were seated in the restaurant section. Lower music level would be much better suited in the restaurant side. Go-Go’s rock the music loud but the restaurant might be best to keep it lower.
Great atmosphere and terrific food.
Wait staff very friendly and attentive.
Don’t like the experience with “Feed Me”
We loved the food . It’s really very ‘clever’ Asian style . The food definitely has a kick to it but it is so well balanced. It’s grest for sharing , socialising and overall memorable experience.
food amazing but the music was very loud once in got busy.
The place looks amazing and the fit out is perfect but that’s about where it stops.
Firstly the waiters/waitresses need to interact more with customers and this method of dumping food on people’s tables and running off needs to stop.
With the food, it is nothing like chin chin in Melbourne, it’s not even in the same ball park, they destroyed most of the dishes which even an amateur chef could easily execute.
This makes me question whether it’s owned by the same people in Melbourne.
Food was sensational, good service. The only slight disappointment was not being seated in the Chin Chin dining area proper. We were confused at being seated in the GoGo section, which was fine, but would have preferred the other side.
Great evening, slick service and fantastic food.
The Food was spectacular.
I think Chin Chin need to invest in a professional sound engineer to dampen the noise.
It's very hard to have conversation at a normal level. Dining is about sharing food and wine with friends and conversation.
When we arrived we asked for the music to be turned down. It was thumping like a dance party and at a level where we had to raise our voices.
I, like many Sydneysiders are getting sick of the noise assault when dining
We did the $88 banquet. There was so much food and it was all amazing! Tied for number one dish was the Pad Seuw of Braised Wagyu beef and the BBQ King Salmon, honorable mentions go to the prawn dish, and the Massaman Curry of Braised Brisket.
Great energy inside, staff were friendly and attentive, and we had to roll out the door!! Perfect place for a special occasion as it can get a little pricey when you factor in drinks.
We were at Chin Chin Sydney for a birthday meal. We had the tasting menu. All food was fresh and tasted great. The restaurant was lively but not too loud.
Food was delicious however, the restaurant was too noisy.
Food was quite average. Quality of meats and sashimi weren’t up the the standard. Over cooked duck and pulled pork. No one asked for our feedback when we asked for the bill.
I had a wonderful experience at Chin Chin. The staff were attentive, the environment was electric and the food was exquisite! I also really enjoyed the music! Thank you!
Really good food
Awesome food, great service, good vibe
You know it’s good when you buy the cook book after you finished eating the meal :-) do the $69 feed me menu, 7 dishes and dessert all good size portions and great value for money
Great tasting menu with Feed Me #2 option. Friendly service.
We had a booking for 8pm. We arrived 10 minutes early. By 8.15pm we had 4 of our 8 dishes. Then before we had even finished those dishes they wait staff were already bringing out the Pork and asparagus salad. They were looking at us to scrape the remaining food from the share plates onto our plates so they could make room to put down the new plates. Very rushed ruined the dining experience. Disappointing.
