Checkered Past Winery is a restaurant and wine bar that features both local Texas wines as well as ones from all over the country and globe.The owner, Sandro DiSanto is 100% Sicilian and a first generation American. Both of his grandfathers were winemakers back in Italy, so it has become a family tradition. The dining area at Checkered Past is decorated with a modern sensibility, there is exposed ductwork, hanging neon green light shades and of course a black and white checkered floor. Checkered Past features several charcuterie boards that are designed to be paired with the various wine selections available. These include a cheese board, a meat board and a few combinations of each. There are also small plates designed to be shared like smoked salmon and cream cheese bruschetta, goat cheese stuffed pappadew skewers, marinated grilled Italian artichokes and pretzel bread with stone ground mustard.
