Amazing high quality food! Absolutely loved the service and drinks. Will be back again.

The outside areas are nice but oddly we could not feel any heat coming out of the overhead vent. We have been to many outdoor places and that is the only one we had to stay covered up with Jackets and hats.

Our server was very friendly and helpful! All staff was extremely friendly and positive despite how cold it was outside! I hope staff is well taken care of during this pandemic and the winter conditions!

Ambiance was only ok due to it being so cold outside. The heater only put out so much, but overall it was wonderful.

We went on Saturday when weather turned rainy. They were great opening up dining room early so people could sit inside. Spacing was great. Beautiful inside with chandeliers and staff very enthusiastic and warm, as much as can be wearing masks. Food was great as essentially did tasting. Not vegetarians and enjoyed it all. Drinks phenomenal tasting and presentation was tops. Lots of others seemed to stop in for drinks and apps in afternoon. We just decided to try everything!

Portion sizes were small but the food was very tasty. The drinks were awesome too!
We did outdoor dining and had a booth outside and the vent keep blowing cold air intermittently.
Overall it was a good experience.

A lovely date night. We sat in the Chalet outside under the chandelier with a hot drink and checkered blankets. Dinner was delicious. We chose the Mushroom Ramen, Ricotta, Braised Carrots, and roasted peanuts. We finished dinner with the lemon cake.

Covid Protocols Followed well, it was only our second time out to eat and we were happy this is where we chose to go.

Sitting outside be prepared for people coming to your table begging for food. Also, service is very slow.

I have been to Charlie's a few times. What I enjoyed this visit was that due to the city's restrictions on indoor dining, tables were not so close to each other. It was still very dark inside. The food was still delicious. Server was a little skittish (understandably due to the pandemic), so he did not linger, explain or get too close while serving us. We ordered the recommended 2-3 plates per person, but it was way too much food, no big deal as I took it home & had lunch the next day. Fan favorites are definitely the grilled Caesar salad & the ricotta with the yummy bread.

We sat in one of the outdoor chalets. It was perfect for going out in pandemic times. Great food and great drinks.

Went for a birthday dinner in the chalets and was definitely warmer than being outside. We kept our coats on and the temp felt great. Amazing food and drinks per usual!

The food was sub-par at best and the service was not good.

This was our first time dining at Charlie was a sinner. I made reservations through open table. Restaurants in Philadelphia are at 25% capacity. There wasn’t a single person seated inside and there were 4 empty tables outside in their enclosed cabana type area. We were walked to an open air table outside and directly next to another table and on a slant. I asked if we could sit in the cabana and I was told they were requested for guests with later reservations. Our reservation was one of the first since it was 4:30. I asked to be moved to a different table so we weren’t so close to the only other table sitting outside in open air and also so we weren’t on a slant. The person who seated us seemed a little annoyed. It was a freezing and windy day. The food was excellent, but it was ridiculously cold. I used the rest room when I was finished eating right before we left at 5:45pm. There was still not a single person seated inside the restaurant and the outside cabana still had a table open. I was a little upset when I saw this and I am wondering what I have to do to get a table inside or in the cabana. I will give it another try because the food was excellent, but not because of the service.

Wonderful eating experience! Very good outdoor setup that made you feel safe during COVID.

Flavorful food and great ambiance

I've been the Charlie Was a Sinner a few times and I've never been disappointed. The drinks are always great and it seems like they always have something new to try. I also really liked the food. The Mac and Cheese was really good! Also, the complimentary blanket was a great touch! And the service is always fantastic!

Charlie was a sinner continues to be a favorite of mine for exceptional vegan cuisine and outstanding cocktails. We have visited several times before the pandemic and were completely smitten with the outdoor seating arrangement that they crafted to allow for safe dining this winter. Our little table, chandelier, and rug made our booth cozy but there was still room for air flow. Our drinks were fantastic and the food was delicious. It was the closest we felt to “normal” in some time, while still feeling like the server and my partner and I were safe. We plan to visit again.

Charlie's has done an amazing job with the pandemic. I felt totally safe and as comfortable eating there as before the pandemic. Can't wait to go back!!

It was pretty busy for a Monday night due to the holiday, so service was a little bit slow but nothing to really complain about. The outdoor cabanas are pretty great, they offer protection from the elements as well as other diners. They're not very warm at all, but hey, it's a plywood shed on the street! The HVAC system they've got is definitely more sophisticated than any other outdoor dining I've seen so far. Food was good, highlights for us were the korean tofu and the gnocchi.

Despite it being in the middle of a pandemic and freezing outside, our date night to celebrate my husband’s birthday, was absolutely wonderful!

The food was delicious, the cocktails perfect, the wait staff attentive and lovely.

First chance to dine out in a long time and Charlie was a great choice. We were fortunate to have the chance to sit in one of the private chalets, otherwise there was only tables on the street. As a birthday lunch, the chalet was perfect and cozy. We've been here a few times and the menu never disappoints. Nor do the drinks. I like that the menu is approachable and realistic (another vegan place is so high priced it is almost ridiculous). We had the "beef" sliders and "crab" sliders. Both were excellent, so was the mac and cheese! Whatever bacon-like item sprinkled on the top made the dish. The only lackluster item was the mushroom toast - it was fine but needed something. We will definitely be back and hopefully we can eat like normal (inside the restaurant). If still during the pandemic, definitely book a chalet!

Everything was perfect! The chalet made our dining experience very comfortable. The food and the drinks were absolutely delicious. The staff was wonderful. Highly recommend!!!
