We ate at this restaurant for the forst time last september and we enjoyed the Welsh Lamb so much that we booked straightaway for the following evening and had another great meal (although it couldn't beat the lamb). So when we were returning to Llanudno for my birthday we had to book again. I have to admit the lamb dish was a little different and although not as good for my taste it was excellent. The whole meal was very good and service was very friendly. The sea view adds to the attraction of this restaurant and we look forward to returning next time we visit Llandudno
Booked for the afternoon tea for my Mums 60th. Service was terrible, was shown to a dirty table, it then took someone 30 minutes to come and clean it/take our order. Vegetarian option were poor, cost to upgrade to cakes seemed high.
An inebriated guest behind us was very vociferous and spoiled the ambience.
The full afternoon tea was not all available.
Reasonable value for money.
Excellent food, service and ambience - would not hesitate to recommend.
Sunday dinner menu very restricted just a plain Sunday roast at very high prices
Decor very dated but service was friendly and good
Would not return
Food was nice but would have liked more cake as it was afternoon tea and expected more variety. Very good sandwiches but disappointed that there was no selection of cakes . Service was good and the staff were very helpful. Good cup of tea and nice to have a pot of hot water too.
Lovely afternoon tea with a sea view. Helpful and speedy staff. Nice cuppa.
Worth a go.
Food was great. The service was far too fast - I’ve had slower meals at Mac Donald’s. But when we asked to slow down they listened and gave us some time. Will still go back.
Difficult to write a fair review due to recent opening because of COVID-19. Only 5 tables occupied in a very large dining room but was this due to lack of bookings. There was a distinct lack of ambience which could have been improved with perhaps some background music. We could hear every word of the conversation taking place on a nearby table. We ordered beef but when it arrived the Yorkshire pudding was missing and had to ask for it. Then we ordered crepe brûlée with raspberries but came minus the raspberries and again had to ask for them. However the food was excellent and plenty of it. One waiter wore a face covering but the other didn’t so not sure what their policy is regarding staff and face masks. Track and trace was in operation.
Absolutely would recommend this restaurant and hotel. Idyllic setting, wonderfully peaceful and romantic seat in the front window. All courses delicious. Wish we could have stayed for the evening but we had plans in Llandudno. We hope to be back soon.
We booked Chantrey's Restaurant as we were staying at the Imperial Hotel.
The staff were all excellent and very friendly. Our Dinner Waitress was very knowledgeable of the food on offer and was able to help us make our choices.
The food was all cooked to our liking, it was served at the right temperature and was all good quality.
There is a good wine menu and drinks are available from the bar or from the waiting staff.
Prices are what you would expect from a restaurant of this quality.
I would recommend this restaurant whether you are resident in the hotel or not.
Food was a bit tasteless, my husband and I ordered the turkey roast. The service was ok, had to remind the waiter about my father in laws side order and later on about the additional wine I had ordered. There were Xmas parties on so gud atmosphere. Didn’t dine there on our second night
The service & food wasn’t as good as our previous experience. We were seated near the main entrance, which was quite cold as people were coming & going. We had to ask for butter & ask for a napkin. It was hard to get service as they were attending to some regular residents. We had to ask for drinks as no one was approaching our table. The only time we got service was when each course was finished with & the other course was delivered. Starter & pudding were lovely. But the main courses were cold. It was as if they had been left unattended waiting to be served, while the waiters attended the regular residents who by all accounts were very good customers. We won’t be dining there again.
Was not what we were looking forward to the meat was tough vegetables were to hard even for someone who likes their vegetables half cooked. We should have returned our meals the same as another customer did but we just accepted it and left most of the main course.
Really enjoyed a weeks holiday, excellent service will return
Overall we enjoyed our evening dining with you. Unfortunately we had to wait, with our starter already served, for our ordered wine. Fortunately the starters were cold, but the wait was annoying.
Excellent food and service. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We were not treated differently because we were not resident. Offered seats in the dining room or the terrace, we chose the latter. We didn’t feel rushed. Excellent value for money. We went back the following night.
Excellent food and service. Staff were very pleasant and most helpful. Fine dining without the fine dining price!
Lovely restaurant and ambience to dine and talk in, waiters very attentive and knowledge of food was good with minimal interaction to allow us to enjoy evening together. Would highly recommend if you want a fine dining experience.
The service and friendliness of staff were excellent, however the food was a let down. Perhaps it's due to a wedding reception taking place at the same time there and it was a busy time but still.. the chicken dish was dry and sauce tasted burnt, vegetarian option lacks flavour and the fish and the steak werent great either. The only nice dish was the lamb. Needless to say we skipped dessert.
Booked this meal as memory occasion as it would have been my fathers 100 th birthday. Llandudno was our holiday place . The occasion did not let us down as the table overlooking the promenade was beautiful. The waiting staff were very polite and efficient and made it an enjoyable experience. The food was well presented and tasty . As it was a Sunday roast the meat might have been standing as it was quite well done for beef and lamb . The roast potatoes were a little dry . Otherwise everything was pleasant and well cooked with a good selection of vegetables. The ambiance was delightful as everyone was dressed up and the room bright and airy. There didn’t seem to be a maitre d . So we had a variety of waiters. No one asked what The occasion was although they had asked on booking .
Just ok. Poor service, stale hard bread. Nice prawn cocktail and cod dish
Very reasonably priced meals and value for money, excellent.
Staff were superb, very polite and professional.
This was our second evening at this restaurant so as we had to leave immediately after the meal for Venue Cymru Theatre , we opted to just have main course because of the slow service on the previous evening. Even so we had to wait over 30 minutes from ordering until the meal being served . My wife had ordered Fillet of Plaice priced on the menu at £19 and was very disappointed at the miniscule portion of fish . Perhaps it was because we had booked on the Hotel's Spring Dinner and Breakfast Tariff
Although the food , ambience and attentiveness and politeness of staff was very good the service was very slow as we had to wait over 30 minutes between the first course and main course and perhaps 20 minutes between main and desert. The portion size of the deserts were very small and did not represent value for money .
Were not impress with the food.i booked here because I had a Christmas dinner last year and the food was great.booked for mothers day but I felt embarrassed because I said the food here is really good but not on mothers day the salad was grim were all laughing this is it..the main is really depressing the dessert was alright not as bad as 1st two meal one of us didn't ordered the dessert put him off because of the starter and main..for £112 meal not worth it.
very nice meal and service very good
unfortunately food didn't all arrive together so had to wait for side orders
bar made mistake too with bottled beer
kids menu good
We had a lovely lunch. Service was excellent. Also, the gift of chocolates was a very nice touch. Thank you.
Beautiful Old World setting for a romantic dinner on the Llandudno Promenade.
We had to return one meal twice. Very disappointing. Poorly handled. Music was awful. Who needs light opera on a sunday at 7.
Very good quality steak. You don't get loads on your plate but it's more about presentation. Service was good at times, but staff did not check on how the food was during the meal and we waited a very long time to pay our bill despite it not being busy, staff need to be more alert.
An absolutely lovely experience, food was amazing , atmosphere was great, lovely views of the bay. Staff were very attentive & pleasant. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful place, amazing food. Thoroughly recommended
We had the lamb dish which was nice except the dauphinois potatoes was burnt on top and only one strip of carrot. The desserts were lovely and we would recommend the Welsh selection of cheeses. Value for money.
We had a pleasant evening, food was good, service was good but nothing to make you say "we must come again". The restaurant looked tired and very dated.
Lovely food well cooked which my wife and i enjoyed a lot
Good dining experience staff attentive and efficient bit expensive but food excellent
It was our first time chantrey`s but it won`t be the last thats for sure. The food, service and ambience were first class.
