Chameleon - InterContinental Wellington
Where to start? Very lovely helpful staff, led superbly by a Maitre De on top of her game. The food was to die for. Yum! Excellent wine and great selection of dishes. I will be back with bells on!!
Excellent food and service, not cheap but you get what you pay for.
An very enjoyable meal.
Room very comfortable and finished to a high standard
Yes we loved the food ,Great catch up with family .Perfect !!
The staff were very obliging in accommodating our needs for our special occasion.
But...we waited far too long for drinks. I received the wrong main and had to wait for mine to be cooked while others at table ate theirs.... The meal, overall, was disappointing. I would not go back in a hurry for food.
The food looked great and tasted even better. The waiting staff were attentive even though they were quite busy.
This was an amazing experience and the staff were very attentive. They made a special day even more special. Thank you
Beautiful food and intelligent service. Concept of plate size is unusual, but stood-out as being a great way of dining, and for the quality, represented very good value for money.
The service from the two ladies working Jessie and Anna were excellent, they were very professional but also very personable.
Loved the surprise amuse bouche from the chef.
The food was delicious. The restaurant was very quiet only a couple of tables filled, can’t be helped at the Last weekend of Wow
We booked this for a really special get-together based on the reviews and wow, it really lived up to the recommendations. The cocktails beforehand were terrific and staff very welcoming. Once in the restaurant, we asked if we could move as we found it a bit cold by the entrance. The staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. The food was exquisite. Not cheap but well worth it.
Beautiful pre-WoW show meal with nice choices for each course.
Suggest making a price for 3 courses as well as the setprice for 2.
Excellent wait staff
Thoroughly enjoyable start to the evening.
Lovely pre WOW show dinner. The wine list was superb.
Fab food, great location. As long as you’re not stationed next to ‘the wall’ which gives you nothing to look. They need to add plants or elevate the area to see over it or something. It’s quite claustrophobic.
Honestly one of the most delicious meals I've ever eaten. I appreciated that it was quieter than many restaurants too.
A very nice early dinner. We were constrained to the WOW menu due to the timing, even though we were't wowing, but it was not a problem.
Absolutely stunning in every way. Could not fault it. When I pay similar money at other places and the experience falls short, then I realise just how wonderful Chameleon was. Will be back.
The food and service were wonderful. The food exceeded our expectations and the service was attentive and professional. Highly recommend a meal here. You wont be disappointed.
We always have dinner at Chameleon's when we stay Intercontinental Wellington.
The menue always has a great selection - presentation is 100% as with the food.
Service is top notch as well.
I cannot fault the restaurant, it is at the top rung.
Was fantastic, we'll be back, was great, awesome service.
Very quiet atmosphere with lovely food in the pre WOW menu. Has become a bit of a tradition to go there before the show.
Was a very busy night and service was slow .
Wine prices were way over the top compared to many other similar standard restaurants.
Enjoyable meal, great ambience and staff very friendly. I would recommend to family and friends. Thanks!
The service was excellent, some food was exceptional some was normal.
We were sat by the window and it was really cold. Food was delicious except for the tuna, it had no flavour
Mathan was outstanding! We had a fantastic time. The food and environment were great.
We were welcomed and given a private comfortable table. The menu is distinctive with two and three plate choices. New Zealand food is featured in innovative ways. Each plate comes with a good selection of vegetables, which we supplemented with a fresh green salad. Home baked bread and a salmon amuse bouche were followed by seafood chowder and a paua dish with mushrooms and rice. The second plates of beef tenderloin and salmon with a celeriac coleslaw rounded out our enjoyable visit.
Every dish they cook are one of the highest quality. Price are also reasonable. just some misunderstanding in English of the European waiter affects the total atmosphere. Get sorted out after a while. Otherwise they will get a Full mark.
Well, the food was sensational and the service top class. I do however think your wine pricing is over the top.
A Californian red I can buy for $25NZ max was $80 and with respect that's too high.
anyway I doubt my thoughts with respect will register.
I loved the place and the meal was stunning I just feel sadly that kiwis get ripped off with over the top margins attached to food. I have run my successful NZ luggage company for forty years and if I attached margins-mark ups like this my product simply wouldn't sell.
Excellent meal and perfect wine match. The venison perfect!
Had a great evening at Chameleon for a special occasion. From drinks in the bar to the wonderful food it cannot be faulted. Not only were the staff super attentive and helpful, they were also very knowledgeable about the process involved in producing some fantastically unique flavours. Highly, highly recommended.
Chameleon had amazing service and good food. With a great selection of vegetarian options.
Fabulous evening. The food was outstanding and service was friendly and very professional. The best seafood chowder we’ve had in Wellington. Dishes are beautifully presented. Good wine list and reasonable prices.
Outstanding service, food presentation excellent. However food whilst nice didnt excite.
Second time we have visited and again a great experience. Staff go out of their way to look after you in the restaurant and at the bar. Would recommend without a doubt, also great food and great idea with the serving sizes. Will definitely be back again. Particular thanks to the bar staff I believe it was Lauren who went out of her way to allow my partner to try a range of wines and ports, really nice experience and it made her night.
As always, Chameleon offers incredible value (the two-course plus coffee business lunch is just $34).
We had a wonderful meal with excellent service. It was our third visit to Chameleon. The restaurant was very quiet on a Sunday evening.
Overall the food was really good! However some of the portions might be too small compared to others, even though the waiter told otherwise. That did disappoint some from the table! That being said, what was served was really good.
The service this evening "only" gets 3 stars. At the start it was good, but we had to wait for cutlery for the second round even though the meals were already served. But at least we could admire the look of it before being able to eat. ;-) In addition when the second meals were served, we were still waiting for our wine.
The food was very expensive and minimal size. Very nicely presented but not enough quantity. Dessert was the only good size item. Hard to get attention of staff for further requests. All very friendly but not enough of them to be watching out for what diners might want after initial ordering.
Loved everything? Will definatley come again woth friends and families for any special occasions.
Wonderful food, very affordable priced. Staff are very efficient and attentive. Beautiful dining room.
Another outstanding lunch - great food, great price and wonderful staff like Sophie who always looks after us so well.
