About

This restaurant is permanently closed. Permanently Closed - Cha Li Boi is in the heart of bustling Bondi Junction, a short walking distance from the Bondi Junction train station. With the entrance from Bronte Road to the restaurant on level 1, it is situated above, but independent from the East Leagues Club.
Cha Li Boi interior is the work of Anthony Gill, founder of the award winning “Gill Architects”. A modern, industrial, chic open warehouse look, distinctly raw and urban in style. Flooded with natural light during the day and suitably low lit at night, with a roof designed for sound and temperature control, it is both cosy and intimate yet majestic and spacious.
With a fully licenced bar, 177 seater main restaurant, a 54 seater private dining room, a surround sound state of the art music system, and industrial kitchen, Cha Li Boi is a beautiful, blank canvas perfect for any event that can be imagined. Open for lunch and dinner with a full a la carte menu.

Fabulous food and great service. The interior design has potential...but it feels strange as it's like its half finished with plaster coming off the walls for example. Mind you it was very comfortable seating and plenty of space which we appreciated as a larger group.

Very disappointed with this place! Yum cha fusion just doesn't work! The decor was horrible, looks unfinished, cheap ply wood on the walls and tables with exposed nails- not hygeinc . Portions were very small, unusual for an Asian restaurant, and very expensive. Don't mind paying a lot if the food is good, but it was very disappointing.

We had a booking for 12:30 and ordered by around 12:40. First dumplings came around at 1:15 after we had told the waiter we had no food They were delicious. However, at 1:40 no other food had come so we left.
Manager was polite and apologised, and told us we did not need to pay.

We had lunch at Cha Li Boi on a Monday. The space is nicely fitted out and is large however only 2-3 tables were occupied which didn't lend to atmostsphere. The food, while expensive was different, of high quality and enjoyable. We will return but hopefully at a time where there is a bit more atmostsphere.
