Cha Ching is an Asian fusion concept restaurant where customer enjoys variety of Asian dishes on a table with Asian spiced drinks and cocktail for an affordable per dinner and lunch.
Synonymous with luck in Chinese culture, Cha Ching is a project three years in the making, from Owner & Head Chef Ken Leung.
From working in Hong Kong’s Michelin Star St George Restaurant in 2012 to experience in kitchens across Melbourne’s elite food scene, Ken’s hospitality experience spans over 15 years.

    I recently visited your restaurant on the 6th of September 2024 and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. While I had dined there once before, at a friend’s suggestion, and found the food acceptable, I noticed inconsistencies in both flavor and presentation. On this recent visit, I ordered the red duck curry, which was presented differently and lacked the flavor it had during my previous experience. The noise level in the restaurant was also far too high, making it difficult to enjoy the meal. What truly soured the evening, however, was the strict enforcement of a 1.5-hour turnaround time for the table. When I requested to order a bottle of wine, the waitress informed me she needed to check how much time we had left on our booking. This sense of being rushed left me feeling that the focus was more on maximising turnover than on providing a pleasant dining experience. In summary, the pressure to vacate the table and the inconsistent food quality made the evening unenjoyable, and I do not feel it was worth the effort of dining there.

    I came for fathers day dinner at cha ching . My table was for 7pm . Overall it was not a good experience at all. Service was very poor. I think they were under staffed . We order starters as silken tofu and dumplings. Dumplings came cold so i insisted them to give us hot dumpling. They took the plate and gave the same 2 dumplings hot instead of giving he new plate as it was their fault of serving cold dumplings. Then i reminded them about the silken tofu which they got after the main course . Half of our time was trying to look for staff to request for spoon , extra dish etc etc . Staff were busy looking out side the window and not looking at guest table. Sorry but my feebback is not against the restaurant but against the team , service and cold food .

    Loved this place. From starters to dessert the food was sensational. The service from Karmen was sensational & it was honestly one of best cocktails and amazing desserts I have ever had! Next time in Melbourne, I’ll be back!

    Very less food options, service was average with me having to ask for spoons, knives, forks and chopsticks. The Korean fried chicken was beyond disappointing and I was so angry. The duck baos were dry like eating a dry piece of tofu. No I do not recommend this place if you're looking for some decent options. Oh last but not least, they charge a premium to sit neck to neck with other tables which is embarrassing.

    The experience was nice overall however a few things I would change. The table we were sat at which was booked over a week ago was very close to the table next to us, felt like they were eating with us at the table of two against a wall, not much space. Food was good overall, for entree we had the sashimi which was great, the beef pate was bland- not much flavour, the Korean fried chicken also nice. For mains we had the truffle fried rice, nice but the added truffle didn’t add any more flavour so wouldn’t recommend the $10 add on. The red duck curry was delicious and the pork was nice too. The cocktails were a highlight, very well presented and tasted great, no skimping on the alcohol. The waiters were also attentive.

    Food was delicious! Service was also 10/10. The cocktails were pretty but didn’t taste that great (quite syrupy). The restaurant itself was quite bright (white light), would be nice to have it a bit dark and moody

    Value for money. The cocktails were first class. Amazing oysters fresh and fat. Happy hour for cocktails 1/2 price and oysters $2 each was the best.
