The small, quaint dining room was designed to resemble an old fashioned Italian osteria. Rich with wood and other earth elements Fiamma is a warm inviting atmosphere. The Italian countryside was inspiration for both the menu and the dining space. While at Fiamma you will be greeted with a smile, and treated like family.
The meatballs for an appetizer are OUTSTANDING!!!!
Been several times and have enjoyed each time. Had the octopus and was great!
0 stars if I could. Ordered special w "lobster tail" got cold lobster claw w overdressed limp salad draped with actual whole fish (anchovies) literally gross -When we tried to tell the waiter we were upset with meal he said nothing went over to another table then came back to us and begrudgingly said "can I get you something else" walked away without clearing the original dish literally made us wait for our wines for 20 minutes when no one was in the place was rude and unapologetic. Upsetting awful experience
It’s not that I wouldn’t recommend the restaurant, it’s just that there are others that are similar and better. Our food was good, with fresh ingredients, but the preparation was only fair. Also, the salad was very expensive and what was included didn’t warrant the price.
As usual food was excellent, service was stellar!
Food was good, just thought (personally) it was a tad salty for my preference. Loved the look of the venue! Our server seemed a tad distracted and one of the other servers kept running down the stairs to grab food to deliver to tables- it was a tad distracting.
This was our third trip to Centro and again, another delight.! Each visit we sample different dishes, and just like our previous visit, each dish was perfect and flavorful, the flash fried shrimp and calamari were served hot and seasoned well, and one of the best dishes we had was the pasta with white clam sauce, perfect balance of flavors with just the right amount of red pepper. Our server Tyler was friendly and attentive, can’t wait to return
Very cool atmosphere. Friendly and attentive server. Great menu offering a variety of choices. Wood fired pizzas were pretty soggy, but overall everything else was great. Cocktails seemed a little pricey, but it’s to be expected at a trendy restaurant as this.
Excellent food, excellent service. The noise level is pretty loud and the room is so dark you have to use your cell flashlight just to read OR see what you're eating.
The service and food were good. We arrived on time and the both of the hostess were rude. It didn’t give a good first impression
6:30 reservation, table for 2 in bar area. Table was ready. Server prompt. Ordered a house salad to start, followed by pizza to share. Pizza brought to table by a runner a bit early and turned around to leave. We had to ask for clean plates for the pizza, and then had to ask that the salad be cleared. The runner took the salad plates but left the (large) salad bowl on the (small) table. We couldn't get anyone's attention so my husband put the bowl on the table located in the middle of the bar. No one ever came to check on us. At the end of the meal, the original server returned to the table. I explained my disappointment with the multiple service lapses. She apologized and offered another glass of wine for us to share. We declined. She brought a desert for us to share.
These errors involved basic service and were so off-putting that I don't think I'd go back to Centro. There are lots of other Italian restaurants in Rochester that provide a better experience.
Servers and bussers asked to clear our drinks and appetizers and meals over and over and over to the point of annoyance. The restaurant was more than half empty, so there was no need to rush us and turn the table.
The requirement of placing the order for appetizers and entrees at the same time is unnecessary. Just not that busy nor fancy a restaurant.
The ambiance is lovely and reminds me of a few places I frequent at home in NYC, and the food is okay, so I’ve tried this restaurant a few times while visiting Rochester, but I’ve been disappointed each time. Will have to scratch it off my list.
The food is exceptional, unique and nothing like it in the city. Dining room is a little loud, but that's because of the architecture which is one of the things we come for. Can't have it all. The dishes straight out of Italy and the chef takes great care to make sure they are be eccezionale and bellissima. Appetizers were the smelt/shrimp/calamari and the Octopus and Cannelloni bean. Never had Octopus like that (grilled) it was delish. All five of us had different dishes and they were great. They also specialize in wood fired pizzas, but to be honest there are a lot of restaurants that have that so we didn't order...especially since there were so many other unique and flavorful dishes on the menu. Our third time there and it only gets better each time.
The food was fantastic and the ambiance was comfortable and lively. I would definitely go back.
Excellent diverse menu with very high quality and generous portions. Very good service and nice atmosphere
Amazing food, service and ambiance! I would have rated it at five stars across the board but when we were served bread at the beginning of our meal it was cold and there was no butter, oil or herbs to spread on it as you typically would find. I rarely see butter at a high end italian restaurant but you do typically get cheese, oil or some dipping herbs in most cases. The bus boy also wasn’t sure how it was supposed to be served but didn’t offer butter oil or anything else. The waiter was fantastic. The food was very good. Some of the best homemade pasta, sauce and meatballs I have had. The Braciole was also amazing! Can’t wait to go back!
Awesome waiter.. yummy food. Cozy atmosphere for date night!
Food was great. Server was below average but support servers excellent. Noise level was high as expected.
Food was less than fair. Had the calzone. It was an enormous doughy inflated beard.
Way too much bread, lacking inside. We were charged $2 extra for the dipping sauce which we thought can with the dish.
Cocktails were delicious and service was excellent
We are regulars and this was the first time we got a less than great experience, normally we get great food. We went with a group and was told we could not have separate checks.
Our pizza was burned on the bottom and under cooked on top. The veal was tough and dry.
For the price I would expect bread on the table too.
The Pizza was spectacular. The Veal Chop delicious. The Pizza fantastic. The Family style salad with the artichoke hearts couldn't have been any better. Friendly knowledgeable wait staff. We will be going back again and again and again.
Great service by our server Roberto, very attentive and efficient. We had the appetizer and the entre specials that evening and both were incredibly delicious. Food was served quickly and hot. Always a great dining experience!
We dined at your restaurant for the first time. We arrived early and had time to start at the bar. It was very enjoyable and the barkeep was spot on and attentive. When the hostess noticed the last member of our party had arrived, she informed us we could go to our table.
We sat down and took a minute to get Jon to serve us. We took awhile, but finally decided on an appetizer. Jon informed us he couldn’t put in the appetizer order without the dinner order. I’m sure this is a restaurant policy - but it is disappointing that we were clearly one of the last seatings for the evening and the restaurant was not full. There should be flexibility in this policy. We ordered the grande cheese and meat platter. It was served by a bus boy. For the amount of money spent - it was surprising that the staff is not trained to explain the variety of meats and cheeses we were about to consume.
When Jon served our dinner we had to ask him for drinks- he wasn’t very attentive and did not check on us throughout service- rather seemed annoyed that he was waiting on us and/or had better plans.
He abruptly and ubenthusiastically spit out the dessert offerings which led us to make the decision to go to Caramel and not have to deal with his poor attitude. When our bill came he threw it on the table. Despite this- we tipped 20% because we recognize that there are other people who benefit from that tip. He returned with our receipt (we had split the bill) with only one pen- not the end of the word for sure- but a fairly easy task to offer a second pen.
This establishment is interesting and the food was good. We would be willing to return, but would request not to endure Jon again. It is unclear if it is lack of training or just Jon’s demeanor and apathy towards his customers, but in any case it was unappealing.
After reading so many negative reviews, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the "front of house" as well as the service exceeded my expectations. We were promptly seated and given bread and oil fairly quickly. Our waitress, Elaina, was excellent and offered suggestions. The food was well prepared (the pasta was undercooked though) and the lamb meatloaf was outstanding. One person in our party received his calzone stuffed with something that was not what the menu stated though. Pear salad was excellent and a good "share" dish. All in all, it was a nice dinner and we would go again.
Fun place very NYC feel.
We ordered the $40 steak and they gave us the $58 steak and we didn’t realize it till we paid the bill. 4 of the 6 of us didn’t want to say anything but I was paying the bill and was not happy about our waiters mistake.
Excellent food and atmosphere, fresh ingredients shine through. Fresh mozzarella cheese was amazing. Server was a seemingly dismissive and inattentive for the most part.
Certainly will return, though will ask for different server if seated with him
Tasty food, decent cocktails, timely and friendly service (although not overly knowledgeable). Very white, surburban crowd.
THIS RESTAURANT IS NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY
Made a reservation for me and my partner via Open Table with a special request for a high chair for our 1 year old. Upon arrival, was provided just a regular chair and was told they have no high chairs. I should have left right then but decided to stick it out. An entire meal with a squirming 1 year old is not a pleasant experience. Furthermore, we were sat at a small table near the storage closet, which mean we had to move our chairs several times so staff could pass by. Despite clearly being able to see how uncomfortable our seating arrangement was, staff ignored us and made us feel as if our presence was a nuisance. We ended up packing a majority of our entree and dessert and leaving.
The food was tasty but not worth the horrible service
Great food, Great Ambiance, Great night out. I have been many times to Fiamma's and it never disappoints. The menu is never the same and always reminds me of being in Italy.
Great Italian bistro with cozy ambiance. Meat plate was generous and with very good selections. All main courses were very good. Minor service issues with late drink delivery and server that seemed a little distracted, but we'll return soon and recommend to friends.
We went later sonit
Been there 4 times and always had delicious food! Especially liked that they honor reservations. Serving staff is unwavering polite and helpful. Loved it!
Loved our waiter and had fantastic food! Margarita pizza was beyond good!
Excellent veal saltimbocca. Not typical preparation or presentation!
An unusual blend of satisfying appearance, tastes heightened by an optional wine-pairing. Although expensive, the conviviality of sharing a table with fellow guests appreciating the quality of the food, the flourishes of the chef, the wine steward, made it all a memorable experience. That people traveled as far away as Washington DC reinforces this unique gastronomical exploration of 4 main dishes and a dessert.
Excellent service. We ordered a pizza and the chicken siciliano. I ordered a side of the broccoli, it was terrible. Main meals were very good. I’d go back but I’ll pass on the broccoli!
This my best restaurant in the world; and I have been to a number of the best. Food is par excellence, wine selection exquisite, service is friendly, personal and super efficient. If you want a culinary experience to remember, try this establishment, you will not be disappointed.
Pizza and pasta dishes are amazing.
The staff was accommodating and courteous. Food was well-prepared and delivered promptly. A good Time was had by all.
