The setting at Céleste is superb - a richly decorated dining room, naturally illuminated during day by a domed glass roof, whilst seductively aglow under the softly lit chandeliers in the evening. It is a scene that transforms constantly throughout the day. As the light changes, so do the guests; from breakfast time to lunch to afternoon tea and dinner, it’s a beautiful and fascinating spectacle.

Celeste had nice service from the staff, and they prepared a decorated dessert to celebrate our occasion. The food was delicious and the interior was very well designed. However the bread that was served was very dry and there was only olive oil to accompany the bread.
Fantastic restaurant with great service. Food was excellent. We went with the menu of the day, which was great value. I highly recommend it
Service is very attentive. We feel very welcomed upon arriving, the staff at the hotel entrance walked us to the restaurant rather than just showing us the direction. The restaurant staff offered a complementary birthday desert with a candle on it, it was a pleasure surprise.
Environment is very good for a date. We went on lunch time, very quiet. The glass roof dome is definitely an add on. When the weather is nice you can enjoy the beautiful sunshine even you're indoor. Background music is romantic type. Probably not an ideal place for family with little ones.
Food quality is good but not exceptional (my expectation is higher as it's a Michelin one star restaurant). However, the desert is fantastic!
Service charge is 15% and they well deserved it. Bread etc were served while you're waiting for the food, staffs are well trained, very friendly, thoughtful, attentive. It's not like some other restaurants changing service fee for nothing.
Overall it was a very good experience. I would recommend it to my friends.
Everything about this revamped hotel is perfect, from the tailcoated concierge welcoming you in and noticing the small details- the bag to take, the coat to hang - to the superb food. The Sunday lunch deal is a ridiculously good one; the food is superb, the staff are knowledgeable about it and the sommelier is a mine of information that he is happy to share. If I could, I would go every day. Exactly what a five star experience should be: you feel spoiled and special without feeling faintly embarrassed by it. Staff and service make or break an occasion like this. It appears to me that all the staff here love their job.
THE SETTING AND AMBIENCE OF THE DINING AREA IS VERY NICE, SERVICE IS EXCELENT AS WELL AS THE FOOD AND PRESENTATION.
Great service and the food was delicious!
We have visited quite a few times. The restaurant is beautiful- in the old St Georges where I trained! The food is excellent and the service is quiet and unhurried. If you go a la carte, it can be quite expensive, but the set menu is absolutely excellent value for money and every course is outstanding. Even the petit fours came inside a tempered chocolate globe. There is a large and potentially expensive list of wines, but the staff do not push you towards the more expensive end and are happy to discuss and recommend the wines at the cheaper end, and let's be honest, none of them are going to be bad!
Every dish was well presented and delicious- my family have been to many top restaurants in London but never have we tried dishes with flavours that were so unique, even the butter tasted amazing. The service was great -they didn't keep asking us how we were like some restaurants do every 5 min but they were attentive and knew when to come over. It was my mother's birthday and they gave her a complimentary dessert, which was a really nice surprise for my mother. We definitely recommend this restaurant and the chefs.
Céleste was the best experience I have ever had in my life. The staff is excellent and enthusiastic with their work. Our server, Max, explained all the things on the menu with perfect diction and eloquence. The sommelier, Olivier, had so much passion for wine that really made us feel special. I’m not a rich man, but it was worth the money. I can’t wait to go back
Great food and environment. Friendly and attentive service. Couldnt ask for any better.
good for father day
Great venue, we had problem with the menu initially, but the manager quickly resolved the problem and we had a lovely evening and will come back to the restaurant again.
One of my favourite lunch time venues, excellent value with the lunch deal - we will be back!
Beautiful place. The food was high quality as well. A rare find.
Excellent service, great food.
Was a nice experience and the staff was lovely. Ended up going for the tasting menu...which was overall nice but nothing excited me about the dishes..I was expecting more from a Michelin restaurant
The food was delicious and the staff were very polite and friendly.
As we say in Paris, ce fut un dîner céleste! You could translate in English by awesome
Lovely lunch and setting, good value with the lunch deal.
What is the point of a discounted set menu if there is nothing on offer that is good enough to make customers want to return for more?
The set menu is good value but nothing to suggest a far superior chef or anything worth returning for.
So you discounted and not gained a new fan.
What’s the point?
Set menus must entice the customer to be eager to return for the full tasting menu.
When you give the customer exactly what they paid for. The ingredients, the cooking methods, the presentations, are all priced right.
What do they have to look forward to?
What have you really achieved?
The customer would go away with no WoW!
Very limited menu that doesn’t have options and the service was not to the standard to the restaurant
The ambient is great in the beautiful interior setting. We had the three course lunch menu, which was nice. Overall we had a great lunch experience there.
Fantastic service and fantastic venue.
Nice atmosphere,the food was good
On a Dining offer + a free glass of Champagne. Disappointed by:
- Champagne not being Champagne but french sparkling wine
- Sommelier attention very limited
- Mashed potatoes served with a dish in the menu, charged separatly. Rectified at the end after asking.
- Menu charged 45 pounds instead of 39 pounds. Rectified after asking.
- Food: Risito disappointing with al dente rice/not cooked. Plate was offered to be changed.
- Rest of the food: nice but not excellent. Lots of reapeating type of food between starter and main plate (croquette and oxtail)
- Overall experience: mixed after complaining a few times and waitress arguing in front of us by the end.
Absolutely wonderful place. Amazing food with top notch service all set in beautiful surroundings.
Went there with my business partner to celebrate the business’s 17th birthday and knew from the start I had made a good choice.
This place will become a firm favourite.
Overpriced with tasting menu consist of only 5 dishes without the WOW factor in any of these dishes and most of them were served in the same style white plate. Especially the hazelnut desert was a really bad choice for closing this menu as there is no connection with the previous dishes of scallop and deer and made you feel fed up after even the first 2-3 spoons. No creativity, very plain looking dishes and expensive for what it offers....
Dîner à 39£/pax pour 2 avec coupe de champagne très apprécié! Service très à l’écoute et lieu chaleureux. Très bien en couple.
Fantastic food and great service in a stunning venue.
Great ambience.. nice food and good service. Good overall!
Good service, food and wine list is ok. I believe the menu could have at list 2 more options
I booked the Open Table offer. The starter and the main were extremely mediocre and presentation were disappointing. I had oxtail for the main and it was literally buried under a big lump of mash potato - even worse than canteen food. The dessert was the best of the 3 courses - interesting play on citrus fruits. I seriously don't think how they have earner their Michelin star.
Fantastic attentive service. Food wonderful.
My husband and I have eaten at Celeste several times before and this time we took advantage of a deal comprising three courses from their menu du jour and a glass of champagne. I think the restaurant interior is beautiful and very conducive to relaxing dining. Table service was impeccable and the sommelier was very helpful in discussing which wines paired well with our different courses. The wines themselves were expensive, but excellent and the food was made using simple ingredients cooked extremely well. We both thoroughly enjoyed each of the courses and thought overall that the menu was very well balanced. We had a really enjoyable evening and look forward to dining at Celeste again.
Very nice occasion and good value.
We went for the special set lunch, it was not michelen star quality, over expensive but the service was impeccable
I have to start by saying I expected more. However, this was on 1/1 2019 so it might be ” the reason” it wasn’t what I/we expected?
Would I recommened Celeste on the food? No, not at this time, no. Is it worth the money? No. It isn’t. Not only this is on the higher pricelevel- the absolutely ridiculous service charge would def require more from Celeste.
Ended our evening in the cigarrlounge, or should I say smokingarea? No. Im sorry, yet again.. you would expect more when you think of a british classic..
Very good. Dining room is lovely with lots of natural light. Food very tasty. Staff friendly.
