Food was terrific. Atmosphere lively with good energy. Great place to celebrate our son’s 19th Birthday 🎂
We ate shake shack afterwards as we were satiated after our meal. We had booked our reservation 3 week prior asking for a good seat. On our arrival, we were placed in a poor location. Our plates were snatched mid bite and we eat very uncomfortable.
Our reservation was at 8:45pm. It was my friend’s birthday and I put the notes on my reservation. We arrived at 8:40 and I told the hostess that we have a reservation at 8:45. She didn’t even look at us or our name since she was texting on her phone and she told us to wait at the bar. We didn’t mind, we got our drinks at the bar after 20-25 minutes, I had to go back to hostess desk and ask for our table. Obviously while she was texting she forgot about us. Since she didn’t ask my name, she even marked us as no show. Not to mention when we arrived there were many empty tables so it was so obvious that we weren’t waiting for a table to become available.
Since it was a birthday night, I expected them to do some birthday cake/dessert in a traditional way. But instead after our dinner we were asked, if we want to check or some dessert. My friend told them it’s her birthday and she can have some space for dessert. And waitress told her she can put some candles on her dessert. For me it was a very unnecessary conversation however it was a birthday night and we didn’t want to kill our mood. We paid over $300 for a dinner for 2 and I can definitely say it wasn’t worth it.
Do you want to vastly overpay for a restaurant that haphazardly serves up very so-so food in delicate little portions because eggplant smothered in lard is oh so exquisite? Do you want a menu that is a chore to navigate? This is your kind of place!
loved it, great energetic atmosphere , thats it for now
One of my favorite restaurants in LA. Love the MRC roll eggplant skewers. Tried the vegan Caesar salad it was amazing! Everything is so good you can’t go wrong
Tolle Location mit schönem Design und angenehm gemischten Publikum nahezu aller Altersklassen. Service exquisit und Essen sehr lecker.
Everything was very good!
Excellent timing on food delivery!
The dinner was OK. It was crowded when we first arrived but everyone was very welcoming. My only complaint is that there was many open tables yet they stuck many parties of 2 right close together and squished on the benches. The food was on the pricey side and not superb but if you want a trendy place to take pictures then Catch is the spot. However, if you’re looking for a quality dinner and time this is not the place
I was looking forward dining here because of the reviews but ended up very disappointed. Terrible customer service. Food was meh. Will not consider coming back.
The decor and vibe of the restaurant is clearly why so many people go, but you're definitely paying for it! Almost every food item we ordered was outstanding. The MRC roll was our favorite. We ordered the "hit me" dessert because of all the hype and I was pretty disappointed. The brownie was dry and tasteless. I expected something much better especially for $20! Other than that it was a great dinner!
Great people watching. The food is consistently outstanding. Loved the whole branzino- it's enough for 3 people and we are big eaters. The staff is friendly and accommodating. This is a place for sharing and getting yummy tastes of different foods.
This was my second time having dinner at catch. Sad to say I wouldn’t go a third time. The quality of the food was a mixture of a hit and miss. Not worth the $500 spent for dinner. The truffle fries tasted like plain oil. For the price of the lobster roll was not worth it. The lobster Mac and cheese was delicious and the Spanish octopus. The service was great.
Visiting for friends weekend
Very Nice and ambiance
Beautiful restaurant. Food overall excellent and like the shared plates format. The only item we didn’t love was the famous Hit me dessert. Restaurant is just a little dark. Have to use phone to read menu. On the mildly expensive size. Small drinks are $18. Overall w tip was $250 for 2.
Always the best meal in LA. Everything is amazing but do not ever not get the filet skewers. They’re heaven on a stick. Other faves are the truffle sashimi or special truffle, filet skewers, crispy cauliflower and amaaaZing ceviche.
Food was excellent, Atmosphere was fun and lively. Service was great, except we felt pushed out of there. We wanted another drink but our server came with the bill instead.
Best food in LA
Food is always outstanding. The service tonight was average. Didn’t ask once if I wanted a drink. Felt like we were being rushed. I love Catch but it was just a very average experience tonight.
Such a scene, and we thought the food wouldn’t match. Best meal I’ve had in LA in a long time!
Service was grest
It was such a great experience. The food was excellent, service was on point and the whole vibe of the restaurant was fabulous!
Great food. Great energy. Not quiet - so bear in mind.
The food was okay but the portions were so small and I could easily find what they make somewhere else. The service though was not great. Our waitress was nice and sweet but the host in the front of the restaurant was so snobby. I asked them to take a picture for me and my friend after our dinner and they seriously rolled their eyes at us. How rude.
Amazing food and service
This is one of those restaurants that believes it is much better than it is. There are much better options without the attitude. Would not recommend unless you’re accompanied by an equally pretentious “celebrity”.
Amazing food, service, and ambiance. Highly recommend!
Always a blast there for brunch!
Great food and drinks. Amazing sushi
It was okay. Very crowded and loud. If your looking for a date type dinner this isn’t the spot. Can be barley hear one another talk. The food was good, but the environment inside just seemed to chaotic:
Beautiful restaurant with a lively active vibe and eclectic menu. The wait staff was attentive and guided us through our evening. Would highly recommend.
As we all know catch is on Melrose so it being overpriced is not a surprise. The atmosphere and vibe makes catch a fun place to be.
Beautiful place but a bit too noisy
Amazing place with delicious food and drinks, and atmosphere is perfect 👌 I like this place and will come more often 👍🏻Thank you 😊
This restaurant is perfect for a Birthday brunch.
I would recommend catch newyork instead. Catch LA food was very disappointed. Spend $200 for box Mac and cheese. Smh..... I have the same meal in Nyc and it was great. Save your money
The food was nothing fantastic. The service was decent. We enjoyed ourselves overall, but may just stick to drinks and sushi next time.
