Worst experience at a restaurant ever. We arrived for a late night dinner and were sat immediately, waited for over 30 minutes for our server to even arrive with menus and waters, finally got our drink and food order in and continuously received incorrect drinks. After placing our food order the restaurant was already empty, the server let us know they had run out of nearly everything on the menu and had to switch some orders. After 110 minutes our food finally come out, was cold, and was not what we had been told to switch our orders too. The staff not only was not helpful with the situation but didn’t care. Food was bad, service was terrible, and there was no ambiance since no one was even at the restaurant by the time our food had come out because it took that long. Would absolutely never ever recommend.
Amazing food will definitely be back great service friendly and helpful staff
Looking for fresh/wild caught seafood. Found and excellent review on trip advisor so I thought we would try them. The food was very good, but still not what we were looking for.
The calamari starter was tough and overcooked. Were they from frozen? The mains ( cod and hake) were delicious. The waiter's service was a little haphazard but the Italian waitress was outstanding.
We dined on a weeknight around 7:30 pm. There were several tables available. There seemed to be just 1 server assigned to the top floor so service was a little slow, but very friendly and knowledgeable. We shared the charcuterie starter which was large and very tasty. I enjoyed the seafood chowder while my husband had the lamb shank. Both were plentiful servings and nicely flavored.
Excellent service, fabulous food beautifully presented. Another wonderful evening at Catch 22.
Server was completely uninformed on the food and delivered all of our meals incorrectly. Food was very good and the place is small but comfortable.
Great place, gorgeous food and lovely staff! Highly recommend!
Poor quality fish.
Tables sticky? Worn varnish?
Rushed and unattentive service, felt the waiters created a bad atmosphere. Food was just OK, we wouldn’t go back.
Service was extremely slow & food was cold so had to be sent back. It wasn’t busy at all, so no excuse for shocking service! We won’t be returning.
Went for mother's day and they were so lovely to me and my mum. Absolutely lovely staff and very nice food.
Great dinner and fabulous oysters!
Great food and service but very loud table beside us that ruined atmosphere
brilliant food, location and nice place
Service was very very slow when we wanted or bill
Lovely food , fish stew was delicious- service a bit slow with a long waiting time between the starter and main course .A high level of noise coming from the bar below but lovely food and good size servings - would definitely recommend
The place is really relaxing and the service is very good.
Erika in particular is a great host.
Very good also the fish.
Food was delicious and serving size was very generous
Excellent food, great ambience and excellent service. We will certainly be back again.
We had fabulous meal with great great server. However, although opentable had confirmed our booking we were not expected and that had happened to an awful lot of people. So the restaurant was fully double booked. Now it was Christmas Eve so it’s an important night to get things right. If it wasn’t for the fabulous waiting/kitchen staff our night would have been ruined.
No lift and had a man on a crutch with us who has mobility issues.
They tried to squash 8 of us into a table of 6. Waited 1hr 45 mins from ordering to eat and we had two children. No bread or any starter offered.
Food was good when it eventually arrived. Communication skills non-existent with the staff.
Won’t be returning.
Visited Catch 22 for first time on Christmas Eve as spotted it on Open Table. Food was really nice but our lasting memory was the patience of Eoghan our waiter. He was deserving of a gold medal for the calm way he handled two customers who came in demanding a window table on what’s probably the busiest day of the year. We felt sorry for him as these customers were totally obnoxious but he handled the situation in a very professional manner.
He is a great asset to Catch 22 and we all look forward to visiting early in 2019.
Booking was for 1pm, one of our party was 15 mins late but we ordered as soon as she arrived. Starters came 30 mins later, followed by mains. Steak was well done despite being ordered med-rare, otherwise food was ok but an extra portion of chips took forever. As soon as mains were cleared we were told they needed the table for a big group. We still had wine to finish and weren’t offered dessert. They just wanted us out.
Early evening meal. Sat down for 5.45pm upstairs at the window. Luke was our server and he was great. Energetic and knew his stuff, knew the menu inside out. Service was quick and the bill was more than reasonable. €8 for a glass of wine a little on the steep side but other than that great value. Will definitely be back.
I can definitely recommend this restaurant. The quality of seafood is good, and how to cook is also good. Waitress or waiter always run for quick service. You should visit this restaurant, if you want to Irish seafood and local dishes.
Fantastic scampi and a very tasty fish pie
