Castle View Restaurant
Our seasonal menu uses the highest quality local meat, including English Longhorn beef, bred in the surrounding local countryside. Every detail of the food is important to us and we believe in giving you a taste of the best of British.
The oak-beamed 17th Century setting, offers diners a relaxed atmosphere and spectacular views from the terrace of the 900 year old Leeds Castle beautifully lit at night.
Whilst the food was excellent the portion sizes were very small. We made this comment to the server who said that this was "fine dining".
Booked the castle view restaurant as we are staying in the grounds, were staying for my boyfriends birthday.
We got to the restaurant and there were a few couples sitting eating there dinner, one lady greeted us didn’t offer to take my coat and could see there was hangers for them.
We sat down and she asked if wanted to order any drinks, I went for a Hendricks cocktail which sounded lovely and my boyfriend had a beer. This cocktail came in a wine glass!!! And seemed to be half full and was £8.95!!!!!!!!! I was appalled as Iv never had a cocktail this way.
The menu which I looked at on this app had mussels for starters and on the mains as well, there wasn’t any sign of any on this paper menu which I was really upset about as me and my boyfriend were looking forward to having mussels as a starter. Instead we had olives and some bread.
I picked the seafood linguine as a main as I had my heart set on eating seafood, my boyfriend choose the lamb rump.
I was very disappointed with my mains, it wasn’t a proper seafood linguine at all, no white wine, just full of loads of parsley oil which didn’t really give it any flavour at all. I didn’t eat most of it and for £18.95 it really wasn’t worth that at all. My boyfriends lamb was average, the portion for what it cost was again appealing.
I told the restaurant on this app that it was a birthday, but nothing got said so I don’t really have that occasion option.
If I do stay again I won’t be coming back to the restaurant for any occasion.
Lovely setting, not over fussy and very friendly. Service was just right, not to long to wait for the food.
I will go as far to say the best food i have had for years. Not massive portions but was enough..
Waiting staff very friendly and efficient.
One more thing The raspberry brulee was amazing.
It was nice, but very expensive!
It didn't seem that there was good value for money.
Fantastic food . Lovely location friendly staff.
Absolutely wonderful experience and the restaurant was fabulous with local sourced produce. The best food my husband and I have had in years! Will definitely be returning to this beautiful castle.
The restaurant serving staff were excellent, especially Sarah. Very welcoming and couldn't of been nicer.
The view over the grounds and castle are stunning, very well lit at night.
The food was delicious, I would recommend the asparagus tart.
Not too sure about the rock/pop music volume when sitting down to fine dining! Other than that, a nice relaxed atmosphere, good views of the Castle, well presented and tasty dishes.
Really nice meal out, great views of the castle lit up at night. Would have helped if we were given correct directions to get to the restaurant initially.
Very good food and service. Will be back again very soon
Everything from the venue itself is everything we wanted the view itself of the castle was not exactly great from the restaurant but once you go outside it’s all there to take in. Prices didn’t really match the food quantity but it was presented beautifully and tasted fantastic. The staff looked us up and down as soon as we walked through the door it seemed very unorganised and as if they were all scared to ask me for Id when we ordered a bottle of champagne. But apart from the service it was great.
We went to Castle View Restaurant to celebrate my husband’s birthday, just the two of us. The whole experience was fantastic. The meal was gorgeous, the ambiance was lovely and our waitress Sarah was everything a waitress should be. She was attentive without being intrusive, she was knowledgeable about the food and she enjoyed a chat if you were happy to chat, which we were. She enhanced our dining experience as she did to all the other couples she chatted to.
We had a fabulous evening and will certainly be returning.
Excellent meal overlooking the castle.
Waiting staff were very good, friendly and attentive.
Only reason for 4 stars is the limited menu choice. Unfortunately, the only starter my husband would choose (He only eats chicken) was not available and replaced with a pork dish. Our mains were delicious and beautifully presented and my raspberry brulee was out of this world!
The food was really really good. The waiting staff were friendly and the view was stunning. Would definitely recommend of you're staying at the castle.
Was lovely the only thing that let it down was the service was a little slow but lovely people
Although the food was nice, we waited an hour for our starters. The staff were all rushed as it was so busy & we had to keep asking for drinks etc.
We were celebrating a family Birthday and everyone at the Castle View Restaurant were so friendly and helpful. The food was really good and we were made to feel very comfortable. We would absolutely recommend spending the evening and while we are not local to the area we'd like to return.
Absolutely amazing. Great service and food was amazing. Brilliant view of the castle.
First visit to this restaurant and we will certianly return. The atmosphere and view over Leeds Castle are amazing, there was a good variety of oriental and traditional Eurpoean dishes on offer, all of which were prepared and served with care. We could not fault the service which was friendly and attentive without being stuffy.
Views to die for!!!! Fancy building a Castle in front of a great restaurant. !!!!!!😁😂. Great knowledgable staff, very helpful and not intrusive. Meals out of this world. Really can’t praise the 3 times cooked chips highly enough best I have ever eaten. A great evening, we will be back, if someone empties that M25 and ever finishes the M1 and M6!!!!
Very friendly efficient service food was lovely & fresh would definitely come back
Value for money
Great views and good service with great atmosphere and the food was really nice
Fantastic evening for my wifes birthday. Relaxed atmosphere and fantastic food with generous portions. Would definitely return.
It made our wedding anniversary a wonderful experience so thank you very much and even more so to you lovely member of staff you took our photo with the lovely view of the castle in the background (sorry I didn’t get her name but she was a lovely person)
Absolutely lovely meal. Couldn’t fault anything. Staff were attentive and friendly.
Excellent food lovely views good ambiance and service.
Excellent location and the quality of food and service was first class.
The only downfall for us was the background pop music. If music has to be played something more soothing and atmospheric to go with the lovely view of the castle would be better.
This is a great place for dinner especially as the nights are pulling in and it's dark earlier and the illuminated castle is stunning to look at from the restaurant. We enjoyed an anniversary dinner in lovely surroundings with good service and very tasty food.
Lovely old building in superb condition.
The view from the restaurant of the floodlit castle and moat at night, is outstanding.
Food and wine were good but a bit on the expensive side.
Staff were very friendly and efficient, Sarah was very impressive.
THE FOOD AND SERVICE WE RECEIVED AT CASTLE VIEW WAS GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY. BUT THE NOISE LEVEL TO TOO MUCH FOR US. WE HAD GONE FOR ANNIVERSARY MEAL JUST THE 2 OF US AND FOUND IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SPEAK TO EACH OTHER QUIETLY.
A beautiful restaurant with a fantastic view of the castle , showcasing it at sunset. The food was plentiful and very nice with a good choice. The staff were excellent and very friendly.
Excellent service and very friendly and made really welcome
We got a little problem with the quality wred wine
We had a lovely evening meal on Wednesday evening at the Castle View restaurant and we had a table near the window so we had a perfect view of Leeds Castle (thanks to one of the waiter, I think it was Ben who organized it). I choose the Festival of Flower menu and it was an excellent choice: the beetroot parfait was amazing (very tasty with many different flavors and texture), the hake and the garden vegetable dish was tasty and the pavlova was to die for (the meringue was not too sweet and the red fruits were succulent). My partner had the Spiced sweet potato dish (very tasty) for starter and the seafood linguines and he was also very happy with his choice. We had some glasses of pinot grigio and it went well with our meals. The waiter and waitresses were very attentive and friendly and we will come back next time we stay at Leeds Castle!!
Lunch on the first day of the flower festival.
Food as expected service a little slow.
Overall a pleasant lunch experience.
It really was style over substance unfortunately. Fantastic view and table on the perfect day. Real confusion of you have to book for brunch but not for lunch. Even though the manager looked very smart and our waiter was very attentive it was a let down. No wine, no mussels, children's cheese wasn't complete. Falafel burger really not good, pasta was flavourless. Kept coming to the table with the wrong food. Drinks were slow and I haven't seen a G&T presented like that in a long time. Fair enough they didn't charge for the last round of drinks as I think they knew but still £78 for one course for 4 adults and a child on tap water. Disappointing as I know the banqueting events are fantastic.
Food was great it was my wife’s 60th birthday treat we had booked a table for lunch. On arrival was told we would have to choose from the brunch menu(wife not a lover of eggs) then 10 minutes later other customers ordered from the lunch menu,we waited along time for refils of tea and coffee no sugar was offered service was very poor extra toast came out with the meal with no butter, we had nearly eaten our food by the time the butter had arrived asked for pot of tea but was served cups but noticed other guests had pots. Sorry to be so negative but don’t feel like we had the best first time experience in the restaurant.
My daughter and I are vegetarians and the chef and staff were very accommodating. The chef modified the menu and served delicious alternatives! The staff was friendly, thoughtful and efficient. Had a lovely evening.
Wonderful restaurant with friendly service. An outdoor terrace and restaurant with magnificent views of Leeds Castle. It is a must if you’re staying at Leeds Castle hotel.
It was not a great experience. Not linnen on the table but a paper napking. The magic was the view on the lightenend castle not the restaurant itself. It was not atmospheric ambiance, as we expected from that location.
