Even with social distancing, our breakfast and dinner experience was wonderful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our steaks were cooked exactly as we requested, everything was fresh and nicely prepared.
It was unfortunate it was such a hot day in September (30C !). Luckily we were able to eat inside but the aircon couldn't cope. Food was lovely but we couldn't do it justice due to the heat. Sandwiches were particularly tasty, not the fillings on the menu, nicer.
Lovely setting but poor service, not told re specials(others were but we had already ordered), steak very standard with no steak knife
Staff were poor I am afraid
Lovely food but limited choice , cooked exactly how we wanted It , With a good bottle of wine , we had an outside table overlooking the castle and moat, perfect setting for a romantic diner .
The good and staff were lovely.
It’s a shame you have to buy a yearly ticket to get in as it made just having tea very expensive
Wonderful tea on the terrace sandwiches and cakes where amazing. Staff are friendly, helpful and professional. This was my 3rd dining experience and will definitely be back soon
You can’t better the settling for the Castle View Restaurant because this is certwhat you get and a delicious meal
You come for the location every time, but luckily the food is very acceptable; it's not "fine dining" but if it was, most of us couldn't afford it
Best of all is the staff, who couldn't be better
My sole regret was having no cash (Covid-19 habit) to tip them with as you can't leave a gratuity on your card
So bring an appetite, a camera and a spare tenner - you'll have a great evening
I'm going to book again later this week
Service was slow, we waited at least 15mn for our drinks even though they were ready at the bar. Had to ask for a jug of water twice. The shredded duck was merely a small bun on the plate, the asian vegetables were hardly noticeable as was the sauce.
The braised beef and raspberry cheesecake were by contrast delicious.
Good meal, but disappointed that no draft so expensive bottled beers, and no ordinary gin , just expensive gin, then we were asked with no exaggeration at least 8 times did we want more drinks, whilst we still had not finished our previous drink
Good food service was excellent and well priced
Safety guide lines were in placed and made you feel safe
Well done to all the staff
Highly recommend dinner in this restaurant particularly if you are staying overnight.
Covid 19 precautions in place so felt safe.
Staff were lovely and food was delicious. My husband ate from the specials menu and was a very happy man. My steak was cooked perfectly. Thank you all.
Three of us ate at the Castle View restaurant on a Friday, for a birthday meal celebration. The food was good quality, the service was professional and couldn't complain about the setting they even included a personal touch of handwriting a birthday message onto the dessert plate and supplied candles. Would highly recommend
You don't have to sell it with its unparalleled position overlooking a floodlit Leeds Castle. The food was lovely and just a lovely relaxing evening after the lockdown et all of the last few months.
Excellent outside and in side. Very calm, relax, romantic.Superb food.
Very enjoyable evening dinner here. Menu choice nice. Food very good. Staff welcoming and helpful. Beautiful setting with view of the castle.
The attempt at fine dining failed . Far better to stick to a simpler menu within the capabilities of the Kitchen
Friendly welcome, polite staff, food well presented and served promptly. Clean and quite.
Overall very happy
Lovely food in a stunning setting with views over the Castle and the moat.
Amazing evening and food, lovely view of the castle
Family of 4. Two adults and two children. We all had beautiful meals. The service was great. Staff attentive and polite. It was my husband’s 40th Birthday and the views were stunning. Even though we didn’t have a window seat it didn’t matter. We were able to sit on the terrace for aperitifs and look at the view. Fabulous. Thank you.
Breakfast in the morning was also gorgeous.
We were very excited to visit Leeds castle again but this time we decided to book an afternoon tea. The view is amazing and the waiter was very welcoming, friendly and warm but unfortunately it was downhill from there. The plates and cutlery were dirty, considering the current circumstamces you would assume that the staff would be extra vigilant. I have had to clean the table as well as the plates and cutlery with our anti-bac wipes. When the food arrived, the starwberries were old and wilted, the scones were rock hard and the cakes were inedible as they looked stale and un-appealing. Fortunately the sandwiches were nice enough apart from the smoked salmon was partly dark coloured so I left it aside.
My daughter ordered a lasagne, the garnish was wilted and black which was also soggy.
I am not the type of person who complains so I just put all these items aside and after paying I informed the waiter only to pass the message.
I was dissapointed as I paid £52.80 for 3 people. I hope the staff will be more careful and provide better quality food.
More staff training required. took a long time to be served aperitifs. Service is restaurant was good. Starter and Dessert were excellent, main course was mediocre. Coffee was poor. Not great value.
Breakfast was very good.
Polite and attentive staff, tasty and well presented food, stunning views of Leeds Castle
Service was excellent. Views of the castle were stunning. Food was good. We enjoyed our evening very much.
We had a very pleasant evening meal at this restaurant. The staff were welcoming and friendly and were helpful as we ordered our meal and in serving it.
The food was very good too. The main courses were exceptional and the vegetables very tasty. The presentation was attractive and showed that great effort had been taken.
Overall the menu looked fabulous with a variety of options 2 or 3 courses
No fraught beer at all and bottles £4.50 each !!
Starters were very nice
We both had sea bass for main course of which was overcooked
I sent mine back however my husband was embarrassed to do that
Desserts were very nice
Some items were an extra ie cheese and biscuits and steak a main course
This is unacceptable with a set menu
Promptly I was served with another of the same standard . I assume cooked and left to keep hot it wasn’t nice
Waitresses were very nice however didn’t keep an eye on tables in between course it was hard to get there attention
Salt and pepper not on table this had to be asked for and mustard all the finishing touches we take for granted to go with the dinning experience lacked
I had a tequila, which wasn’t served correctly wasn’t asked if I required salt lime ice!
Waitresses were young and inexperienced
Expensive for what we were given
If a good standard the meal would have been good value
We dined as a result of a B&B gift to Leeds Castle. We enjoyed our visit and the meal was
prepared and served to our pleasure . In consideration of the difficult situation we are all
experiencing the staff were excellent.
Only thing to recommend is the view. Food portions were small and unspectacular. Disappointing experience.
Drinks on the terrace overlooking the castle and most set the scene then inside the restaurant was warm and comfortable. We really enjoyed both the blue cheese and vegetable tartlets with very fresh rocket salad and our seabass main course.
We stayed at Leeds Castle for 2 night and managed to get the first night last minute having also booked for the second night. Good menu and not too much choice. Had the shared starter platter the second night which was particularly good. All choices were good - we had 4 different mains between us over 2 nights. A decent choice of wines and beers. We had a couple of glasses of the local wine which was rather nice.
Very careful regarding coronavirus risks, all staff having a visor and the request for visitors to use the anti bac gel on arrival. Lovely view of the castle from one section of the restaurant and patio available if warm enough. Really enjoyed both visits. Very handy is staying.
We were seated indoors which was good as there was a lot of wasps. Service was good and we had a really enjoyable afternoon tea.
Starters and steak main course were very good, but the only vegetarian main option looked and tasted bland and boring.
Never fails when we visit. Food is always perfect, tasty and very well presented. Can't wait to go again!
Good Service and Ambience very pleasant Meal and Visit
What a lovely evening super staff excellent food beautiful location we will return.
Overall we enjoyed our meal at the restaurant. The staff were great and the Covid 19 arrangements were organised and adequate.
Unfortunately although very tasty, one of the meals was served cold (although admittedly, we didn't bring this to anyone's attention).
Also, we had two vegans in the party and had mentioned this more than once -when booking our stay at the castle, again before arriving and at reception when we collected the keys for our overnight stay. The meals the two vegan members were served were vegetarian options with meat and cheese removed and were therefore not filling, and yet we were charged full price for meals with food removed. There was no option for a vegan dessert.
At breakfast, our daughter was disappointed with her Eggs Benedict. The yolk was very 'set' and dry and the Hollandaise sauce was also baked on, as if the breakfast had been prepared and left under a heat lamp which had dried it out.
Service was very poor was left waiting to be seated whilst 3 waitress stood at the bar chatting . Waited 30 Mon for drinks 40 min for starters an hour for mains ordered wine with the mains but it never appeared when we asked for this to be removed from the bill it seemed an inconvenience
Several other guests complained about how long food was taking one table complained about dirty plates
Had booked for our anniversary so was very disappointed
Nice experience, lovely afternoon tea (plenty of sandwiches), great view of castle & moat, definitely well recommended.
