Excellent place, some of the best tacos I had in Dallas,
Great find! Great food!
We had ceviche and nachos for appetizers. Both were excellent. Ther stuued pepper was outstanding.
Overall Komali was disappointing and not at all what I was expecting although it’s been several years since I was there last. It was quite loud, very casual, and the service was below average. The food and cocktails were average.
Been here before but not sure if it’s the rebranding to Casa Komali (preciously just Komali) or what it was — the service and food was incredible. Top notch seafood and well served drinks. It’s unfortunate it’s so far from my home otherwise I’d be here more often. Thanks!
Great quality meal with fresh ingredients. Passion you can taste!
We like it here. Consistent food and nice service.
Amazing food and authentic Mexican flavors.
They tried to charge double on a number of items and then charged the full 20 percent tip as standard. The waiter should have reviewed.
A group of 6 of my girlfriends went for the first time for a birthday dinner and had the most wonderful experience. The service was fabulous the food was top notch and the drinks were amazing. Super unassuming restaurant from the outside but what a hidden gem!
I love this place! The margaritas are great, food is amazing and the service is fantastic!
I've gone to Komali for years, so I was really disappointed on Saturday when two people in my party got sick within half an hour of eating the same entree. I alerted the manager, thinking he might want to know that there was an issue with this particular dish (the asada tacos.) He refused to believe it was the food, saying if something was wrong it would take much longer to manifest, despite the fact that both people were reporting the same symptoms . He even went so far as to say it must have been something they ate earlier. Suffice to say, both people spent the evening very sick and we had to cancel our other plans. I won't be going back to Komali. In the past year the food has deteriorated in quality, and now it seems the management has as well. Makes me sad.
Legit Mexican fare. Fantastic service
Salsa was bomb. Food and margaritas were delish as well!
We LOVED dining at Komali's for my birthday! All of the foods and cocktails were DELICIOUS! We will return very soon!
We are never disappointed here. Food is so fresh and drinks are crafted not out of a can or bottle Service never disappoints
We loved our office birthday lunch at Komali. Great food, service and ambiance.
Everythibg was great and fresh
Overall, a really good experience- it does get loud once tables fill up.... and there is no doubt the AC works... but fortunately our server was willing to regulate it a bit since there was a draft.
The food and craft cocktails were awesome—- will be back!
The food is outstanding . I have never been disappointed. Service is always amazing. Best margaritas in town!
Really loved this place! I had never been before and was glad I finally tried it. The food and drinks were delicious and our server was really kind and knowledgeable about the menu. I would definitely recommend the salmon!
We went for brunch. Excellent food in a good location
Great place for brunch on the weekends uptown. Everything is fresh and delicious and the spice level is not to harsh
The low score for service had to do with the wait to be seated. There were 3 groups that left because it was taking to long. The manager was randomly seating people, which was making it difficult for the hostess to successfully do the job.
Why does Komali's even allow reservations? It was complete chaos and there was no order. Shouldn't reservations be seated before walk-ins?
Group of 7, best meal at the table was the short ribs. Guacamole, mediocre, tacos, mediocre, steak and fish, ok.
Excellent Service. Our server was very attentive even though it was a very busy night. Great food too!
Great Mexico City Mexican food. The civiche is a great appetizer. The chicken in green mole is fantastic.
1st time since it is a little out of our area. Great non-texmex Mexican food which I love.
My boyfriend and I went to Komali for Valentine’s Day because we had such a great experience there on our first date. First off, the food here is amazing and I really like the waitstaff, but our experience Valentine’s Day left much to be desired - so much so that we probably won’t be back to one of our favorite new restaurants (they’ve revamped the old Komali concept).
The waiter recognized us from the last time we came in which was very nice - he made an effort to ask how we were doing, a marker of excellent customer service which is always something I appreciate.
From there on out, however, the service the remainder of the night was beyond poor. Things happen and clearly SOMETHING happened for the service to be that lacking (maybe someone quit or there were issues in the kitchen) but what I found really unforgivable was not that the staff were clearly struggling but that we seemed to be obviously de-prioritized over other tables - almost as if a decision had been made that maybe because we are nice and “know the staff” that we’d tolerate being completely ignored better than other guests. Repeated eye contact with our waiter only to be ignored hammered this idea home for me.
No attempt to explain why it took an hour to order our entree was made, just a vague, clearly uncomfortable “sorry about the delay” after we had sat there for 15 minutes with empty wine glasses.
I hate to write a bad review about this place but my boyfriend was equally put off. We are definitely not planning to come here again after our nearly 3 hour dinner.
Another terrific experience. Delicious food. Excellent service. And loved not being rushed even though it was busy with other Valentine Day couples.
Food and service great as usual
My favorite new Mexican place
We dined at Komali frequently until we left Dallas in 2014, but were back in town and decided to go back for dinner. Much to our delight, our old friend Hugo, formerly the chef owner of Cafe San Miguel, is now the executive chef at Komali. The food was excellent as always, but it's also obvious that our good friend is running the kitchen!
Food was great. Drinks from cocktail menu were made fresh. Basic wine list, but infused tequilas were available. Everyone enjoyed their own dishes. Guacamole was very good as an appetizer. I would go back
Great Mexican fusion brunch and the tamarind mimosa is a definite go to!
The upscale Mexican fare is a refreshing break from the ubiquitous Tex-Mex fare in the area. For cheese lovers I highly recommend the Cheese and Steak Enchiladas.
My wife and I went here for an early dinner.
Service was excellent from Ruffino.
We started with Fundito which we both agree was the best we’ve ever had.
Wife had Camarones la Jalapeño which she loved.
I had the pork belly tacos, they were great.
We will definitely be back.
We hatt a great experience and enjoyed ourselves very much. They were very accommodating.
Very good, fresh Mexican (not Tex-Mex) food. Interesting and varied menu items. Ceviches are very interesting and different. Multiple enchiladas, street tacos, meat and seafood entrees. Cocktails are excellent. Good service.
Delicious as always! I don’t understand why this place isn’t more busy. The food is amazing. The chips and salsa are so good - I love the salmon, chicken salad, flautas, rib eye asada. It’s all so good!
Wonderful food and service. This was our first visit and we will be back again.
